Sync directories android/linux/windows/drive and allow backup apps like Whastapp, Signal, Threema
This could be achieved by syncing a directory in android with proton drive.
Syncing a folder is essential. For instance I could sync some documents, books, keepass databases and other files to have a shared directory between my computer and my phone and having all those files also OFFLINE for instance when traveling.
An option to backup public storage data from apps such as: Whatsapp, Signal, Threema, etc is also essential to stop using Google Services (dgrive) to backup those apps. I think the private storage backup is not possible.

Just one remark: in case of Whatsapp you cannot decide with which cloud services it syncs, it is not configurable. On Android it will use Google Drive, that's it. Anyway, what's the point of stop using Google, if you continue using Whatsapp, which might be even worse ;)
Nevertheless, I support the general idea. Drive should allo syncing folders on Android and Apple phones -
