  1. Better hide or move $Temp folders

    Mark $Temp folders as system protected (or move them to safe locations), because I think it can lead to dangerous mistakes it they appear in the explorer or a shell.

    Just marking the folders as hidden is not enough in my opinion since some developpers (maybe most) hide "System Protected Files" but not "hidden files".

  2. Proton Docs: Different Bullet Points for Different Levels of Indentation

    For example, the default bullet is the filled-in circle (●), and if I press "tab" to indent, the bullet becomes the outline-only circle (○), and if I press "tab" again, the bullet becomes a square (■), etc.

  3. Remain on old path after search cleared

    After a search, when I press the clear button to the right of the search bar, the current path is the root of my drive but instead it should be the folder I was at before the search started.
    This should be a simple update.

  4. Full width when reading a document (.txt) file in a Drive

    It appears that when I preview text file (.txt) saved on Drive in a web browser (latest Firefox), the content window (class="file-preview-text") is shrinked to something like possibly 800px instead of using full width of my window. This becomes an issue when the previewed file contains for example log lines or some code with long lines, since low width significantly decreases readability. There should be some button to switch view or a detection that this is a log file or a code and automatically use full-width.

  5. photos

    Allow Photos to be able to be managed in Drive.

    I was looking for some photos that I want to move and archive into my drive but wasn't able to.

    I dont mind if a folder is created in the root folder or designated by user

    or even, make it a hidden folder if possible or optional

  6. Ability to open/view a .zip folder without having to download

    I would like to be able to open and view the contents of a .zip folder without having to download the folder to my PC. This way I can see the contents of the folder, retrieve/download/move files from the .zip folder that I need and delete the unwanted files from my drive all together. I have this ability in Microsoft's One Drive.

    Offer to upload with a public link.

    Currently, it is possible to share a public link for downloading files, even without a Proton account

  8. Share iPhone pictures in other formats

    When uploading pictures from iOS to proton drive it’s uploading the HEIC file. When I want to share images in full quality over my drive instead of a messaging service they also receive the HEIC format.

    Since a lot of my friends use android it’s very complicated for them to use or impossible. It would be nice to have the option to convert them if possible for easier sharing.

  9. Proton Drive Docs/Desktop Improvements

    I love the Proton Drive and being able to securely have all my documents across devices, but there are two things that frustrate me a little.

    One is the Proton Docs. Though it is nice to have an online format I for docs I can keep in the drive, as many people have mentioned it'd be nice to have access via mobile. Another thing would be to please improve the way the docs page looks. There is no difference between the document and the background, so fading the background to a grey or some other color would make it much…

  11. Prompt to enable biometrics on first login

    The Proton Drive app should prompt the user if they wish to enable biometrics/PIN when logging in for the first time. Many apps do this, so I find it a bit odd that Proton don't given their focus on security and privacy.

  12. Folder info (size, stats)

    In details I'd like to see the number of files and folders inside a chosen folder and it's total size.
    It'd be also cool to be able to see details for a number of selected folders combined, so I could check the info for a few folders placed next to each other.

  13. Support local encryption at rest

    Support storing Windows (and Mac when the time comes) files downloaded from Drive encrypted on the local disk. Then, support a virtual drive that presents the files as decrypted. Two examples with good user experiences are:

    1. Boxcryptor, which optionally supports folder and file name obfuscation.
    2. Cryptomator, which always forces folder and file name obfuscation.

    I personally prefer the former, but either one will be helpful.

  14. Proton Drive larger Storage in all the paid subscriptions

    I currently have the unlimited sub and i need more TB but no more aliases, no vpn, no nothing. So i was wondering if the "modular" function would be interestinf as some people only opt in for proton mail but also the storage because of the security plus of Proton. Example i need the proton mail Plus 5 TB drive to store my photos and videos. Maybe you could add Drive and Vpn etc as modules to have more individual plans - this way you would fit more the needs of potential customers who are not necessarily willing to pay…

  15. ProtonDrive following directory symbolic links should be optional not the default.

    ProtonDrive following directory symbolic links as the default and not being able to disabled can be dangerous. Most commercial backup applications require it to be user enabled.

    Its is dangerous because apps following nested symbolic links can cause loops which the app cannot escape from.

  16. Improved MacOS application interface

    Currently you can see the status icon of proton drive as a whole in the menu bar for MacOS.

    it would be great if the app had a similar experience to Windows in that you can see the sync activity/history for files being synced to the drive.

  17. Option to hide/remove menu bar icon in macOS

    This is mac specific; I like my desktop to be as clean as possible, and not have any unwanted or unnecessary icons in my menubar. Especially with ProtonDrive i don't see any use for it. I would like the option to hide or remove the menu bar icon from the menu bar

  19. notifications of changes to drive folder and trash

    Can we get options for notifications on changes to the drive folder and by whom? Also can deleted by be included in the log of items in trash?

  20. Proton Drive PWA should cache its web resources

    Proton Drive's web version is installable as a PWA, but it does not cache its HTML, CSS, and JS files, requiring users to wait for them to load every time. Please make it cache them so that it can load faster and work even offline.
