Lumo chats are saved
As I read the Lumo documentation, I find this FAQ: "Are my chats saved?". The answer given is: "Chats are only saved if you use a Free or Plus plan.". Hello? What plan other than the Free and Plus is there? Is the answer to the FAQ actually "yes"? Explain, please.

Import chat history from other LLM
Please allow us to import chat history from other big commercial cloud hosted LLMs to ease transition and not lose all the information prior LLMs gleaned from us, what we are doing, what is important to us, etc.

Improving response quality and reducing bias
As it is, Lumo doesn't work very well.
It hallucinates facts more often than other modern models that also don't access the web. When asked about privacy-related questions, it almost always promotes Proton's services (including ones that don't exist such as "Proton Chat"). I understand that there is an incentive to promote the company's own services, but most people interested in a privacy-respecting LLM, and especially those willing to pay, don't want it to act as a shill for Proton.

Persistent behaviour across sessions
I prefer my chatbots to adhere to certain strictures. No sycophancy, no "understanding my frustration", no apologies for bad information, full research, etc.. Gemini and Copilot adhere to these standing instructions across chat sessions, tho they backslide from time to time and need reminding. I want Lumo to do the same. The "How should Lumo behave" box should be persistent. If I am logged in with my account I am unconcerned about privacy since it's my Proton account and is secure. Nothing sets me off like "I understand your frustration." You're a LLM. You do not.

Shareable Link for Lumo Projects (Secure Collaboration)
Current limitation:
Lumo Projects are confined to a single user’s encrypted workspace; there is no mechanism to generate a shareable URL or invite another Proton user to a Project.Desired capability:
Ability to create a read‑only or collaborative link that:
Grants another authenticated Proton user access to the Project’s context (chat history, uploaded files, and custom instructions). Maintains end‑to‑end encryption and zero‑access storage, ensuring that only invited users can decrypt the content. Offers granular permission levels (view‑only, comment, edit).Use case for cannabis‑tech consultants:
Share curated compliance checklists, product‑training modules, and POS‑integration playbooks with multiple dispensary stakeholders. Enable rapid onboarding…3 votes -
Pull to refresh chats and history
I use Lumo across many devices.
Currently I have to force quit iOS and Android apps for them to update with the latest history.
I would love to see pull to refresh in the history section.
I would also expect the chat to pull all updates when selected from the history, but this is not currently the case - it does not show activity from another device.8 votes -
Lumo Does Not Open Half The Time
I’m on Lumo Plus and in IOS (and in Brave on my computer) about half the time the Lumo app and site link open to a blank white screen. I either have to re open on my phone or refresh on Brave.
Looking forward to seeing what yall do with Lumo!

Lumo iOS UI Improvements
iOS problems:
In portrait orientation, tables rendered by Lumo extend beyond the right edge of the screen, requiring horizontal scrolling.
When rotating to landscape, the entire table becomes visible, but the persistent search bar at the bottom overlaps the content, obscuring roughly half of the text. This makes reading difficult, as only a narrow strip at the top remains unobstructed.Suggested solutions:
Responsive Table Layout – Automatically scale or wrap table columns so that the full table fits within the viewport in portrait mode, eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling.
Search‑Bar Visibility Toggle – Add an option (e.g., a small…3 votes -
iOS Widget: Please bring back the cat!
The latest update changed the look and feature of the iOS Widget. It now suggests actions and shows a text instead of Lumo the cat like before.
I really liked seeing Lumo on my Homescreen. Please bring him/her/it/they back!4 votes -
Improved visibility of the Internet search icon in Lumo
I find the current icon for the integrated Internet search in Lumo difficult to distinguish, especially with dark themes or low screen brightness. I suggest introducing a clearer, higher-contrast icon that automatically adapts to the selected theme (light/dark).
Possible implementation:
A minimalist magnifying glass icon with a subtle frame that is highlighted in color when search is activated.Optional: A short tooltip display (“Start/stop search”) when pressed and held to support new users.
A clear icon makes it easier to find and activate the search function, which increases the overall usability of Lumo.

Support for Audio-Transkription
Introduce a built‑in transcription engine that securely converts uploaded spoken audio files into text within Lumo. The feature should be available in both the web interface and the iOS/Android apps, operating entirely under Proton’s zero‑access encryption model so that no raw audio ever leaves the trusted environment.

Add our own cat as a companion to lumo
For lumo +, we can add a companion to lumo. Our cats for instance. Then both can act as what lumo does. Free lumo can do this but for an additional charge per month.

Lumo product page
Clicking on Lumo from proton.me takes you straight into a Lumo chat. There is no product page, no information on pricing, and the help documentation is very limited. This is all in stark contrast to every other Proton app that has lots of (marketing) information explaining what it is, how much it costs and what plans include it, and how Proton’s take on this category is superior to the competition. I can’t make an informed decision with no data.
This is compounded by the fact that Lumo didn’t seem to know much about Proton and its products and pricing, often…

Provide a way to keep accounts completely disconnected from AI
No AI, nor company that integrates it, truly cares about user privacy and security. Frankly it makes me reconsider my choice to move to Proton. It's certainly prevented me from moving to any paid tiers

Implement Screen Reader Accessibility Improvements in the Lumo Web and iOS Apps
As a Lumo user who relies on screen reader technology to access my iPhone, I have several suggestions that would make the Lumo app significantly easier for low vision folks to use. Because it seems the web version of Lumo behaves pretty similarly to the iOS app, I'll focus on the iOS app but do consider these same suggestions for the web app, as well.
Make prompts and responses into single focusable blocks
For an example of this, turn on the VoiceOver screen reader in iOS and observe how it behaves in the Facebook iOS app news feed. Although a…

Make the principal ideas, strategies, and values transparent, that drive your safety controls for lumos answers.
Maybe it exists somewhere already. But I would like an easy to find page, where the ideas and strategies behind the safety controls e.g. denying certain answers from lumo are described. I don't need details, just the major Idea about what values, or dangers you're trying to protect/avoid. Just a general Idea what I can expect not to get an answer from lumo for. I think safety controls are ok, and maybe in general necessary, but I'd like to have some tranparency about it.
