Bring Ghost Mode button back to the main chat homepage
The Ghost Mode button was originally on the chat homepage, making quick access easy. Now moved to the Lumo side menu, it requires an extra step. While the side menu is tidy, it lessens the feature's visibility and slows the workflow for users who frequently rely on Ghost Mode.
It would be great if Proton could restore the Ghost Mode button to the main chat homepage, near the "New chat" button, while optionally keeping a duplicate in the side menu for consistency. Alternatively, it would add a setting that allows users to choose where the Ghost Mode button appears.

Allow per-project memory with general chat memory disabled
Enable per-project memory while keeping general chat memory off. This is ideal for users who use general/ghost chats as a scratchpad and want to have memory active only for project chats within their folders.

Share Lumo Response
Most other LLM apps have a share icon at the end of a response. When click, a link is generated that points to the response in the conversation. Proton can implement this feature and use the link permissions that exist in Proton Drive. A user could set a default permission policy in the app.
I use this feature extensively to combat misinformation shared with me by asking Grok, for example, "Is this true?" along with a URL. I then share a link to my AI response result as a source of my research.

Make Lumo an agentic coding tool (Xcode)
Make Lumo an agentic coding agent for Xcode, right alongside Claude Agent and Codex. Through MCP, Lumo could plug natively into Xcode's workflow — rummaging through Swift projects, pawing at documentation, updating build settings, sniffing out bugs, and iterating on Previews until everything is purr-fect.
Xcode 26.3 opening up its capabilities through the Model Context Protocol — an open standard, no less — this feels like a purr-tunity too good to miss. Why should only two cats get to nap in that sunbeam?
Let's make app development purr-fectly pawsome !

Confirm Add Visual Confirmation When Copying Response Text
Currently, when clicking the Copy button (located next to the 👍/👎 reaction buttons at the end of each response), there's no visual feedback confirming the action was successful. Users sometimes navigate away to paste and discover nothing copied to their clipboard.
Requested Solution: Add a brief visual confirmation after clicking Copy, such as:
* A "Copied!" toast/snackbar message that appears for 2–3 seconds
* Button text temporarily changing to "✓ Copied"
* Subtle animation or color change on the button itself
User Impact: This would eliminate confusion, reduce frustration, and build trust in the feature—especially helpful for users relying on…2 votes -
Support for audio and creative file formats (.wav, .als, etc.)
When working on music production projects (Ableton Live), I can't upload the files I actually use:
.wav files are rejected — drag and drop returns "Unsupported file type"
.als files are greyed out in the file picker
I chose Lumo Plus because privacy matters for my creative work, but I can't even load the files I work with. Could support for common audio/creative formats be added?2 votes -
Allow third-party orchestrators (e.g., OpenCode, Goose)
Add support for external integration via standardized LLM API endpoints, allowing third-party orchestrators (e.g., OpenCode, Goose) to route requests through Lumo as the underlying language model provider.

Provide a Lumo CLI
Proton should provide a Command Line Interface (CLI) to Lumo, similar to competitors's CLI tools like Claude and Gemini. There is an existing idea here [1], however that one is specific to a coding assistant. That's great, but other uses (like summarizing local text files, processing local images, etc. within a terminal) would also be very helpful and appreciated.

Organize Previous Chat Sessions
I would like the ability to move and sort chats. For example, I find myself starting a change session, and then once getting into it realize it should be part of a project. So the ability to move existing sessions to organize them would be very helpful.

Make custom Lumos available inside Lumo Projects
Leveraging existing conversation context can be really helpful when a conversation gets long and needs compression/clarification or if a spin-off conversation should be created to keep things clean. To do this, I can ask Lumo to write that new conversation starter entry. Since this request is about the same wording each time, the new custom Lumo feature lets me save this wording for quick reuse. Sadly, this option is currently unavailable in Lumo projects.

Chat Branching
Google's Gemini lets you create a branch off of any of the LLM's responses. This allows you to take the conversation in multiple different directions.
Gemini just creates a new chat for each branch, but I would appreciate if Lumo made the branch chats a child of the original chat for organizational purposes.

move to project
I have a Duo Unlimited subscription. Lumo AI is usable but limited to creating just one project.
Despite my best efforts, I can’t find a way to move conversations into the single project I’ve created.
Lumo gave me this response:
Good news: this feature does exist in Lumo! According to the Lumo 2.0 interface in 2026, you have two options:
Option 1: Open the relevant conversation → select "Move to Project" → choose your existing project (e.g., "Miscellaneous") or create a new one.
Option 2: Use drag-and-drop directly from the conversation list to the projects panel.
Once moved, the entire…4 votes -
saving on proton drive
Adding an option to connect a Proton Drive and save your chat there so it won't get deleted automatically after a few days. I know that chat history might be long, but if someone has a subscription, it would be amazing to at least archive the chat to Proton Drive, even if it's in another section where you can't download it.

Lumo Watchlist & Scheduled Monitoring – Client-Side Alerts for Topic Tracking
Hi Proton Team,
I'm a long-time Proton user who relies heavily on GrapheneOS + Lumo as part of a de-Googled mobile workflow. I love that Lumo 2.0 now has private web search and persistent memory — these features make it an incredibly powerful tool for privacy-conscious professionals.
That said, there's one gap between what Lumo offers today and what would make it a true competitor to mainstream AI assistants with automation capabilities: the inability to set up proactive, scheduled monitoring of topics or changes.
Currently, if I want to track whether something new has been published about a specific topic…

Disable animated background when WebGL is disabled
Currently the web app crashes when WebGL is disabled through NoScript (or in Tor Browser's "Safer" setting), but only when the animated background is enabled. Therefore the animated background should be disabled when Lumo finds that WebGL is disabled.

Chat Retention Policy
Currently, chats are retained indefinitely unless manually deleted by the user (or started as ephemeral conversation). This can lead to clutter and unnecessary storage usage over time, both for users and for Proton.
I suggest adding a retention setting that allows users to specify how long unused chats should be kept before automatic deletion. Users could choose from predefined values (e.g., 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or "Never"). This feature will help users maintain a cleaner chat history, optimize storage resources, and enhance privacy.

Add the option to add knowledge (RAG) to custom Lumos and Projects
Having additional knowledge (RAG) to a custom Lumo and/or Project is really useful. One can add specific files/websites/documents for different types of custom Lumos or Projects.
As an example:
- custom Lumo acting as an expert for a product line - add the documentation for the product line as knowledge.
- custom Lumo acting as an expert in egovernment serivces - add the website of the egovernment services as knowledge
- a Project for personal finance - add invoices, or income reports as knowledge
- a Project related to planning an event - add offers, suggestions, plans as knowledgeAt…

Choose Lumo’s Face
I love Proton, and Lumo… but I’m slightly disappointed by the new Lumo avatar! :(
Idea:
Please can we select Lumo’s face from the Settings menu - just like toggling light mode or dark mode - Proton could include different Lumo Faces!
I just miss the “blob” style eyes… I got too used to that!!
Anyway bonus idea:
Proton could even expand the aesthetic options - give Lumo different costumes like the St Patrick’s Day one?

Automatically save chat responses to a document
In my view, Lumo 2.0 should prioritize its core strengths—leveraging the scientific and technical expertise behind Proton's mission—rather than focusing heavily on image generation. Image creation requires significant financial investment, and many established competitors already serve this market extensively. While I understand there may be legitimate privacy concerns around processing images, it seems the choice to pursue image generation was driven by market trends in AI rather than staying true to the scientific and educational purpose for which Proton was originally founded. My suggestion would be to refocus development resources toward those foundational goals where Proton has unique value and…

RTL Text Direction Support Request for Lumo UI
Lumo currently doesn't support right-to-left (RTL) text direction in the UI, neither in the input nor output fields.
It would be ideal if the app automatically detects and applies the correct text direction based on the first word of each paragraph. For example, if a sentence begins with an English word, it would display left-to-right; if it starts with an Arabic word, it would switch to right-to-left.
This feature (automatic direction detection) is already implemented in Telegram, and adopting similar functionality would greatly improve the experience for multilingual users.
