  1. Transcription of long audio STT

It would be useful to be able to use Lumo to transcribe long audio, for example from podcasts, educational audio, etc.

  3. Accept all text files, independently of their extension name.

Lumo is able to read and understand many text-based files (LaTeX, json, python, etc...). However, only .txt files can be uploaded (files without .txt extension name are refused). It would be nice to accept a larger set of file, as Lumo is able to read them once renamed with a .txt. Lumo shall be able to recognize them correctly, without enforcing in the chat was format is intended to be the submitted file.

  8. Personas

A fantastic feature is "Personas", which already exist in GPT-5 or CoPilot. In my opinion, personas should be permanently stored beyond a conversation. For example, with the term "Remember that Eva, my team assistant, makes suggestions to me about stakeholder management for my customer base and does the LinkedIn analysis. This would enable me to continuously expand an AI assistant and my knowledge management.
I have asked Lumo+, but Lumo+ can only remember my requests or orders within a conversation. Or is there another way to set different personas?
Keep up the good work, Lumo+ is great fun and the…

  9. Remember to Show or Hide a Calendar Per Calendar View

Remember to separately hide or show a calendar per view type (e.g., days, weeks, months, etc.). For example, a daily tasks calendar is hidden by the user from the month and week views (because its events take too much space) but shows the daily tasks events on the day view automatically.

  10. Lumo system prompt

When I ask Lumo for help, I have to always give instructions how it should respond, otherwise it may generate an undesired huge response for rather simple questions. Having an ability to predefine a system prompt to influence this behaviour is in my opinion a required feature. This feature could be also expanded to have several system prompts to choose from at the beginning of a conversation.

  11. Lumo Client (or API) with secure local execution of Lumo‑generated Python graphical output

When users request visualizations, Lumo frequently replies with Python code snippets (e.g., matplotlib graphics). Users can copy‑paste the code into their own environment to render the graphics.

It would be interesting to have some kind of Lumo‑Python bridge that delivers the generated Python code to a local client. The client runs the code in a sandboxed, offline Python/IPython/Jupyter/... session and returns the rendered image directly to the chat.

This would look like a local client chat application communicating with proton servers, able to execute Lumo-generated Python code on the user’s machine. No data leaves the device, preserving confidentiality and complying…

  14. Let Lumo reference past chats & have memory

    Hello Proton Team,
I would like to suggest adding a new feature to Lumo that allows it to collect personal information and interact with users in a manner similar to ChatGPT, but with a strong focus on privacy. The idea is to enable Lumo to understand and assist users by learning from their information, preferences, and interactions — all while ensuring that this data is fully private and protected via end-to-end encryption.
This would combine the convenience and intelligence of an AI assistant with Proton’s commitment to user privacy and security. It could open up new possibilities for personal productivity,…

  15. Stand‑alone Lumo Windows Application

Create a native Lumo desktop client for Windows that delivers the full Lumo experience—chat, writing assistance, file uploads, and secure conversation management—without requiring a browser. A dedicated Windows app would let users keep Lumo open alongside other productivity tools, benefit from hardware‑accelerated rendering and system‑level notifications, and integrate with Windows credential storage to preserve zero‑access encryption. It could also cache recent conversation history locally for offline read‑only access and provide a system‑tray icon with quick‑launch and status indicators. The first release should mirror the web app’s feature set, offer a Windows‑styled UI (dark/light mode, resizable windows, snap‑assist), support automatic signed…

  16. Use better open-source ai models.

    Dear Proton Team,

I would like to propose integrating several high-quality open-source AI models into the Lumo platform. These models align with Proton’s core values of privacy, transparency, and user data sovereignty, while offering excellent performance and flexibility.

The recommended models include GPT-OSS 120B, LLaMA 3, DeepSeek-V3, Mistral 8x22B, and BLOOM. These models stand out because they are open source, enabling complete self-hosting and customization. This means Proton can maintain full control over user data, keeping all processing within secured European data centers, aligned with Proton’s zero-access policy and strong privacy commitments.

GPT-OSS 120B offers powerful capabilities close to proprietary…

  17. Personal Assistants / Preconfigured Prompts in Lumo

I’d like Lumo to support personal assistants or preconfigured prompts, similar to what Kagi Assistant and other AI tools already offer.

This would make it easier to switch between different roles (e.g., researcher, writer, teacher, developer) without having to retype or remember long instructions each time. It would also give users more control and flexibility to adapt Lumo to their own workflows.

  18. Feature Request: Integrate Lumo into Proton Docs for Intelligent Writing Assistance

    Dear Proton team,

I’d like to propose adding Lumo as an integrated writing assistant within Proton Docs. By leveraging Lumo’s advanced language‑model capabilities, users could:

    • Automatically scan documents for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and style inconsistencies.

    • Receive contextual suggestions to improve clarity, tone, and overall readability.

    • Benefit from the same AI‑driven assistance currently offered by the Scribe assistant in Proton Mail, but applied directly to collaborative documents.

This integration would enhance the productivity of Proton Docs users, reinforce Proton’s commitment to privacy‑first AI tools, and create a seamless experience across the Proton ecosystem.

  19. File types and size / unsupported file types

The current file types to upload f.e. images don’t work well and constantly I’ll get the message of “unsupported file type” in the pop-up window and that’s a false flag. They are all files types that Lumo support. I can open those files without any problems within Proton Drive or iCloud. Same issue occurs on Windows desktop, iPhone and iPad. Drag and drop makes no difference.

The file size is also an issue, limited to 10MB and I have a subscription. An average photo is already more than that. Files stored in Proton Drive can be uploaded with a maximum…

  20. Feature Request: Exclusive Access to Larger LLMs for Lumo Plus Subscribers

I would like to propose a feature specifically for paying Lumo Plus subscribers: the ability to enable Lumo to use larger LLMs (such as GPT-5, GPT-5 Thinking, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Grok 4, Claude Sonnet 4.5, etc.) for processing queries. The core idea is for Lumo to act as a privacy barrier—protecting user data—while still taking advantage of the advanced capabilities of top-tier models for those who subscribe.
This enhanced feature should be strictly limited to users who actively pay for Lumo Plus. Free users would continue using the current models and would not have access to this option.
    Lumo Plus…
