  2. Allow custom additions to lumo's training

This custom training would be opt in, but a message would say "By opting in, you agree to not hold us liable if something you disclose is exposed.

This will help with keeping within the limits of the plan that you currently have. You would have to opt in for this

  4. Enable Lumo to Integrate with iOS MCP Mode for Voice Assistant Capabilities

In the recently released developer beta of iOS 26.1, references were discovered in the system files indicating that Apple is preparing support for MCP (Model Context Protocol). While Apple has not officially announced this feature yet, these findings strongly suggest that MCP integration is coming soon.

This presents an exciting opportunity for Proton to make Lumo more powerful and accessible by enabling it to function as a third-party AI voice assistant within iOS. Users could directly invoke Lumo at the system level, similar to Siri, but with Proton’s strong emphasis on privacy and security.

    Why this matters:

    - Privacy-first alternative:

  5. public URL parameter that pre‑loads a specific prompt

It would be nice to have a public URL parameter that pre‑loads a specific prompt, such as https://lumo.proton.me&q=my_specific_prompt because this would make it possible to define "search"-shortcuts in Browsers or for example in krunner under Linux to open Lumo directly with a starting-prompt.

  6. New Project + large information = split in different chats in project

Since title is self explained let me give an exemple using books.

When you open a book or anything with an index then you have something that has tons and tons of information. But they have capters (or similar separations) to ensure that it's not to much. And to make it even better, this splits are done based on subjects, themes, arcs, etc, so each chapter is building up the information without it being to much..... except, to understand the title i will talking about books with stories...

You started the book, you know what it is about (same how…

  7. Lumo Voice Dictation

I know iOS has voice dictation but this needs to come to the web browser version too. It saves so much time typing and a much better all round experience. Thanks!

  8. Customize Response

I'd love to see a "Customize Response" button like duck.ai has. It basically lets you tweak the prompt without having to type out everything every time you start a new chat. The idea is sort of similar to https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-lumo/suggestions/50343312-memory-or-knowledge-functionality-for-lumo, but not quite. I think this idea is a bit easier to implement.

  9. Poll a list of RSS feeds on a schedule

I'm tired of traditional RSS apps. They need to evolve.

Add an RSS polling feature to Lumo to schedule regular cadences of getting new articles from a list of RSS feeds. And I should be notified when the articles are available.

I would use this with a prompt that would sift through the list of articles for me and only surface the ones I'd be most interested in.

  10. Voice of the Proton Community app

DISCLAIMER: It's my ideea but due to going back and forth for hours, i had enough. As such, sorry proton and anyone else, the "corrected version" from Lumo is "wierd" but i hope i make it clear that (sadly for me....) it's still better whatever rambling i wrote. AKA proton or whoever, please ignore any "wording" and just focuse on the idea/suggestion. Since sadly it might not be clear why i suggest this app, aka for everyone to have a (well due to Lumo) have an easier, faster, more accurate, so on and on. Whatever, it's explained so here it…

  11. Python interpreter

Hi there, I'm a Proton user from around 4–5 years. I consider myself an early adopter of new technologies, so I've been testing out ChatGPT, Gemini, and other variants of LLM chats. One of my main uses of them is as a researcher and engineer, so I want LLM that are robust, in the sense all a LLM can be robust and predictable. But, in the sense, I want a "translator" o a "meta-transpilator" that translate commands into actions to be performed. For example, the task "translate this from Spanish to Catalan", is in fact a direct task that involves…

  12. jump to prompts in long chats

I love bouncing ideas with Lumo Ai and seeing how resourceful it can be in realistic or emotional scenarios. In lieu of this, the chats can get really long and it would be nice to be able to jump between prompts instead of having to scroll all the way up. I noticed that DpSk has that feature and it would be very helpful.

  14. Humble Suggestion to Enhance the User Experience of Local Processing Mode

    Gratitude and Acknowledgment
First and foremost, please allow us to express our deepest gratitude to the development team for the excellence already demonstrated in the design of Lumo. The integrated privacy features and the existing Local Mode are a testament to a remarkable commitment to user data protection.

    1. Current Context (Respectful Observation)
We have observed that switching between Local Mode and Web Mode currently requires navigating through the privacy settings. We fully understand that this design responds to security requirements and clarity of intent, which we commend.

    2. Proposal for Contribution

  15. Lumo is great at Math, but bad at Latex!

I am finding that Lumo is shockingly good at the type of math I do, professionally.
I am seriously thinking about buying the Lumo+ extension.

However it is very frustrating, at times, by the way it handles Latex in its answers.

    1) Sometime the latex expression is not properly displayed as math, but just as a bunch of code. The latter is of course hard(er) to parse.

    2) When asked to produce latex code, the output is often buggy and contains nonstandard unicode symbols. It rarely compiles out of the box.

    3) When asked to produce small latex code (to…

  17. Voice typing in Ubuntu Linux and/or Firefox

It would be great to have at least a web-based voice typing for Lumo on Firefox for those who, like me, are using Linux OS's. I'm on Ubuntu but am forced to another IA b/c of the lack of voice typing on LUMO. 😭

  18. Add models for creative writing

None of the models Lumo uses are very good at creative writing. Please add a model that can provide helpful writing critiques, ideas, etc., for creative uses such as storytelling, poetry, songwriting, and creative non-fiction.

  19. Catnip mode: an expert mode for advanced users (ie ‘go crazy’ basically)

I know I’m missing other features and whatnot, but hopefully this idea is somewhat helpful.

So…catnip mode. When toggled on (default off) in a new Developer Settings menu, this mode will unlock additional parameters:

    Catnip/developer setting panel:
    - Toggle proton system prompt instructions off (default on), allowing a custom instruction set (open weights by design have native guardrails as is, reduce overhead)
    - Ideally, the developer setting should allow us to see the system prompt that Proton uses (increase transparency)

    Lumo chat area:
    - Ability to explicitly select models
    - Brief description of model, recommended use when hovering over model…

  20. Active rating system

Prompts, training, so on so on, none can be added.

the thumb up is send to proton? because i never saw Lumo react to it.

The thumb down goes to proton? because it always opens the send report

what is the active rating system?

Imagen a vertical chart line, like on charts graphs.

it can be a positive and negative (like - 100 0 for neutral and max +100)

Why? because privacy = no data collection = we can't improve Lumo.

example: Lumo is asked to use search tool but instead decides not to = if few people do this,…
