2. Screenshot -> Proton Drive + directly added in Lumo's chat/project

   WARNING: what i am suggesting does exist if you use "change destination" of the screenshot program you use to save the images in a Proton Drive folder that will upload the pictures and so on. So please understand that what i will suggest is actually MORE then this and it's DIRECTLY linked to Lumo. AKA no, this is NOT a proton Drive suggestion => NO this is NOT a duplicate of existing suggestion exactly because i am suggesting MORE.

   That is also why:
   I will NOT explain in details why it's needed because it's absurd to assume that you even would need what i will suggest if you don't understand it.

   Lumo, new tool -> screenshot.

   In settings -> Timmer, format (like png), whole screen or snip so on and on, all this are the typical screenshot stuff.

   But the idea of it being from proton = it is saved directly in proton drive, not on the PC disk.

   And on the idea that proton drive can be linked to projects (or reverse i guess is more correct?) well that is why i said: NEW TOOL.

   As in we are in LUMO CHAT! we press tools and screenshot and we can take a picture and Lumo get's the screenshot directly.

   And what people don't get is the following: Upload image requested... how many of you saw this when dealing with bureaucracy or other document or evidence or similar? as in Lumo to have screenshots so well integrated that it can show us click butons.

   Can you show me situation a (click to upload) and situation b (click to upload)

   Or

   Click here to take a screenshot of situation a if you press "shortcut key combination" and, then, again, for situation b.

   Note: both files are save on proton drive's subfolder that is linked to this chat.

   Above is an illustrative example. idea is that we don't need to create any folder, we don't need to link anything. we don't need to upload anything. it's exactly how the take a photo via phone, but screenshot. But it also allows Lumo to directly associate screenshots with specific topics aka eliminating everything else, all the other information, in that picture.

   As in the Proton Drive, will have the screenshots = we can do cross platform chat <- again, the take photo via phone's camera is the best example.

   With the main idea is that the screenshots (and i guess phone photo?) are saved in a specific Proton Drive that is associated with the particular chat or project <- chat/project name + timestamp + all in one folder might be more easy to implement since the idea of Lumo can't create folders in Proton Drive.

   Anyways. Idea is that, the the advantages of screenshots done by proton for 100% privacy, no microsoft or apple or google or whatever log, and of course the idea is that if it's saved on proton drive via Lumo chat, Lumo can associate the image with specific information.

   As in image memory. In the memory function to have a "files xyz" - has the following information

   like this, if we just mention that information, it will trigger Lumo to check the image related information to search for that information and tell use which file is the one having that information. Or reverse, i want to check something, it's regarding case A, B, and C, can you also check image memories? And then lumo will check the images as say what information it has regarding A B and C <- Aka insted of checking hundrends of documents, insted of creating documents, insted of doing web search, you simple do a screenshot and well that is all the info you need. And it's instant and more.

   so again, what i suggest is not the same as the other suggestion that have been made, aka it's not a duplicate.

   But it's screenshots that are done and stored via Proton Drive (i mean it already has docs and sheets, why not screenshot on top?) with the purpose of it being for them to be directly added to chat's with Lumo as in: Lumo can add meaning to the pictures, direct and clear. No confusion. Anything irrelevant can be filtered out while also allow to unfiltered if there are relevant information ALL while giving the advantages of screenshot (quick, instantly, no create folder, no name file, nothing, it's simple and fast and most of all, efficient QoL)

3. AI-powered billing verification for construction (delivery notes + measurement = invoice)

   I'm a construction site manager in landscaping (GaLaBau). Our industry software (greenGALA 8, BAUSU) is purely static – it generates output but performs no automated checks or reconciliations. Every verification is done manually: data entry, Excel cross-checks, triple manual control, handwritten delivery note sorting, and final invoice plausibility checks.

   The core billing equation in construction is: Delivery notes + Measurement = Invoice. There is currently no tool that automates this reconciliation across the entire chain.

   Three areas where AI support would create massive value:

   1. Delivery note processing – Delivery notes are often barely legible: handwritten, dirty, incomplete, filled out on-site. Manual sorting and data entry takes unreasonable amounts of time. OCR-based extraction, even from poor-quality scans or photos, would save hours per project.

   2. Measurement plan understanding – Measurements often exist as drawn plans or sketches, not digitally. If AI could read measurement plans and extract dimensions and quantities, that would eliminate another fully manual step.

   3. Final invoice plausibility check – The most error-prone and time-consuming step. Reconciling delivery note quantities and measurements against billed positions. Finding deviations that can't be logically explained.

   Concrete bug I already encountered: I uploaded a final invoice PDF + measurement list PDF to Lumo 2.0 Max (Thinking mode, web search enabled) and asked it to reconcile them. The processing log showed completion, but both times the output was: "Something went wrong." Reproducible twice with identical files and prompt.

   Financial reality: I pay for Lumo out of my own pocket, not through a company license. Tax deductibility covers only a fraction. If Lumo can't handle the core use case – reliable PDF billing verification – it's financially uninteresting for me.

   What I need: Reliable processing of two linked PDFs, structured table extraction, and automated discrepancy detection across delivery notes, measurements, and invoices – bundled in encrypted Lumo Projects. This applies to the entire construction industry, not just landscaping: civil engineering, road building, structural work, all trades.

   Happy to provide sample documents or beta-test features.

4. Multiple windows (both emails and calendar) on Windows

   When using ProtonMail, I want to be able to:
   - Open a specific email in a new (secondary) window, So that I can read that email and type in a new email in a different window.
   - Open the calendar in a new (secondary) window, So that I can look at my calender while processing emails.
   - Open multiple emails in one window each.
   - Open multiple calendar views in one window each.

   All this is possible in the WEB version, but I need to use the full search feature of the local installed ProtonMail client.

6. Support for audio and creative file formats (.wav, .als, etc.)

   When working on music production projects (Ableton Live), I can't upload the files I actually use:

   .wav files are rejected — drag and drop returns "Unsupported file type"
   .als files are greyed out in the file picker
   I chose Lumo Plus because privacy matters for my creative work, but I can't even load the files I work with. Could support for common audio/creative formats be added?

7. Lumo "lite" tier for Unlimited, Duo and Family subscribers

   While I get the cost of hosting an LLM and a separate plan for unlimited usage is totally fair, I do think paying customers, especially subscribers to the so-called unlimited plans, should get a little special treatment with a tier of Lumo exclusive to these plans.

   Perhaps instead of the 10/day and 200/month prompt limit, 1 project limit and 7 day history that Lumo Free provides, this new Lumo Lite could give us 50/day, 500/month, 2 projects and unlimited history (we already have 500 GB of storage so Lumo message storage should be negligible).

   All the other features like unlimited prompts, projects and advanced AI models could be reserved for the Plus plan for those who need it, but having it easier to integrate in an existing 2 year plan, with appropriate discounts would be nice. Currently, upgrading to Lumo Plus while having Proton Unlimited, downgrades me to a 1 year plan for both, forcing me to pay more for Proton Unlimited as well.

8. Lumo Watchlist & Scheduled Monitoring – Client-Side Alerts for Topic Tracking

   Hi Proton Team,

   I'm a long-time Proton user who relies heavily on GrapheneOS + Lumo as part of a de-Googled mobile workflow. I love that Lumo 2.0 now has private web search and persistent memory — these features make it an incredibly powerful tool for privacy-conscious professionals.

   That said, there's one gap between what Lumo offers today and what would make it a true competitor to mainstream AI assistants with automation capabilities: the inability to set up proactive, scheduled monitoring of topics or changes.

   Currently, if I want to track whether something new has been published about a specific topic (e.g., "Motorola GrapheneOS partnership"), I have to manually initiate a web search each time. This is inefficient and easy to forget. Other AI platforms offer background task scheduling or keyword monitoring, but often at the cost of privacy (they track your interests server-side).

   Proposed Solution
   Enable user-defined scheduled monitoring tasks within the Lumo client (mobile/web app). The concept would work entirely client-side:

   Create a Watchlist Entry — user specifies:

   Query/topic to monitor (e.g., "GrapheneOS Motorola news")
   Frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, custom cron-like interval)
   Comparison criteria (new results only, significant change detected, etc.)
   Alert method (in-app notification, email via Proton Mail)
   Client-Side Execution — the scheduling happens locally on the user's device. Lumo periodically performs web_search autonomously, compares results with baseline state stored locally, and surfaces differences.

   Privacy Preservation — no server-side logging of watchlists or tracking history. Everything encrypted end-to-end where applicable, with zero-access architecture maintained. Optional opt-in for syncing watchlists across devices via encrypted storage.

   Integration with Existing Features — leverage Lumo 2.0's Persistent Memory to remember previous search baselines. Leverage Private Web Search to avoid external data leaks during queries.

   Use Cases
   Journalists/Researchers: Track breaking developments on stories of interest without revealing query patterns.
   Enterprise IT Security: Monitor threat intelligence feeds or vulnerability disclosures relevant to organization infrastructure.
   Legal/Compliance Teams: Watch regulatory updates on specific topics without internal logs revealing sensitive priorities.
   Consumers: Track product releases, policy changes, or service updates privately (like the Motorola-GrapheneOS-Proton scenario we've been discussing).

   Implementation Considerations (Technical Notes)
   Since Proton already supports zero-access encryption, client-side processing, and encrypted sync across devices, most infrastructure pieces may already exist:

   Scheduling: Could run as background task using native OS scheduler (not Lumo server polling)
   Baseline Storage: Local SQLite/IndexedDB with encrypted snapshot of last-known-good state
   Comparison Logic: Simple diff algorithm comparing search result hashes or keywords
   Notifications: Push notifications via standard platform channels (no server involvement beyond delivery trigger)
   Cross-device Sync: Optional, encrypted via Proton's existing key management system
   Key constraint: Do NOT store watchlist definitions on Proton servers unless explicitly encrypted by client (E2EE), and ensure no metadata leakage occurs.

   Why Now?
   With Lumo 2.0 launching on June 30, 2026, featuring image generation, persistent memory, and private web search, the foundation is essentially ready. Adding scheduled monitoring would naturally extend Lumo's unique value proposition as the only AI assistant that doesn't require compromising privacy for automation.

   This feature would differentiate Lumo dramatically from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot — all of which either track user activity server-side or lack sophisticated background task capabilities.

    We propose a restructuring of Proton Lumo's Free and Plus tiers to maximize user acquisition, engagement, and the demonstration of Lumo's powerful capabilities, while still maintaining Proton's commitment to privacy and sustainable growth. The current free tier's strict weekly query limit, while understandable for resource management, can hinder broad adoption and prevent users from fully experiencing the potential of Lumo.

    Our proposal is as follows:
    1. Lumo Free Tier Enhancement:
    * Unlimited Access to an Efficient AI Model: This would provide users with a robust, always-available AI for everyday tasks such as quick questions, brainstorming, simple content generation (e.g., drafting emails, social media posts), and basic information retrieval. This "efficient" model would prioritize speed and cost-effectiveness, making Lumo a truly reliable and consistent tool for daily, non-intensive AI interactions.
    * Limited Access to a Powerful AI Model (Reasoning, Math, Code, Complex Analysis): To allow free users to experience the cutting-edge capabilities of Lumo's more advanced models, we propose offering a limited quota for these "powerful" models. This limited access could be, for example, a specific number of queries per day/week, or a total token count. This "taste" of the powerful AI would be invaluable for showcasing its potential for complex problem-solving, detailed analysis, coding assistance, and advanced reasoning, thereby creating a compelling reason to upgrade.

    1. Lumo Plus/Pro Tier:

    • Unlimited Access to All Models (Efficient and Powerful): The premium tier would offer completely unrestricted access to both the efficient and powerful AI models. This would cater to power users, professionals, and developers who require seamless, high-volume access to Lumo's full range of capabilities for their critical and demanding tasks. This tier would retain all current Lumo Plus benefits, such as extended history, file uploads, and prioritized support, ensuring a comprehensive premium experience.

    Justification and Benefits:
    * Increased User Acquisition & Engagement: An "unlimited efficient" free tier would significantly lower the barrier to entry, encouraging more users to adopt Lumo for their daily AI needs, making it a staple tool.
    * Effective Upsell Strategy: By offering a direct, hands-on experience with the "powerful" AI models (even if limited) in the free tier, users can concretely see the value of upgrading to Lumo Plus for unlimited, high-performance capabilities. 11. Pay-as-you-go option alongside subscriptions

    Since I assume you may eventually add more capable, larger, and more expensive models, such as Kimi K3, it would be great to have an alternative option for occasional users.

    Something similar to what OpenRouter and NanoGPT offer: a prepaid, usage-based credit system rather than a traditional fixed monthly subscription. Users could add funds to their account balance, and each model request would deduct credits based on the model used, token usage, and pricing.

    Alongside this, it would also be nice to have more advanced generation settings, such as a custom system prompt, the option to use the base/vanilla model behavior where supported, adjustable reasoning effort, temperature controls, and similar parameters.

    I think this would be especially useful for people who don't use Lumo frequently enough to justify a monthly subscription but would still like occasional access to more capable or expensive models.

13. Lumo should transition to European-origin AI models

    Lumo uses Qwen 3.5 and GLM 5.2 (both Chinese-developed models) despite positioning itself as a European privacy-first alternative to American and Chinese AI services.

    Why This Matters:
    - Digital sovereignty includes model origin, not just hosting location
    - Users chose Proton to avoid Chinese tech dependence
    - Transparency mismatch between marketing and technical reality

    Request:
    Commit to transitioning to European-origin models (Mistral, Apertus, etc.) or update communications to be transparent about current model origins.

    I currently use piper for tts since i don't like the idea of all the companies to take everything i write to get registered

    and well that is the idea. piper already exist and also we can download different voices. Including non English

    On top of piper existing, i do hope that this will severely reduce the pressure to implement it.

    And please understand that while for stt, aka the reverse, i would strongly suggest to make it being saved on proton drive, because we will use more and more voice to voice if what i suggested gets added.... ok i did not explain correctly

    Due to the only one suggestion, my suggestion is just the title. I just added the reverse as a "please keep in mind" and not as an actual suggestion (aka i don't want the suggestion to get removed or to add another suggestion just for this).

15. Abandon Lumo and use resources to address deficiencies in Proton's core secure IT services

    Of course, I have no idea how many people use Lumo or how valuable a business this is to Proton. I hope this suggestion may flush that knowledge out.

    Customers buy Proton services for its secure IT communications. That is - as far as I know - Proton's core business and its unique selling point.

    Many companies offer AI chatbots which - if they're ever useful at all (about which I have doubts) - improve through scale usage, something Proton seems unlikely to achieve, at least when compared to US behemoths.

    Proton appears to have a large development backlog in its core security offerings, if the list in this Proton Voice website is to be believed. Some core deficiencies have remained unaddressed for years. I assume (but don't know) that Proton, as well as other secure communications companies, are trying to deal with a flood of customers fleeing US services or who are nervous about a deteriorating security environment. If so, the demand will only increase.

    Proton makes secure IT better than it makes AI chatbots. Proton's reputation is in secure IT. I assume that Proton sells more secure IT services that AI chatbots. I suggest that AI chatbots are a lower priority for new and existing Proton customers than secure IT. I submit that the world does not need - and Proton is unlikely to sell - more AI chatbots, but the world does need - and Proton can sell - better secure IT services.

    Of course, I have no idea how many people use Lumo or how valuable a business this is to Proton. I hope this suggestion may flush that knowledge out.

16. iOS app swipe side bar on left

    I’d like to be able to swipe the left sidebar with my finger in the iOS app both in and out.

    Right now you have to tap the sidebar toggle.

17. 4 week View like in Google Calendar

    4 week view as an option for the drop down that currently has 'Day', 'Week', 'Month'.
    A 4 week view is nice because it will keep the calendar current when using Month view. ex, if its the last week of the month, the month view is 3-4 weeks of past events rather than being able to see the next 4 weeks of events.

19. Let us click on our history to see all of our chats!

    I am currently using the android app (APK) and noticed that when I don't have everything in a project folder, it's hard to scroll down through my history. I'd like to be able to click the history for a tab and scroll through there to look for old chats. I do use search but sometimes what key words I look for overlap. I can scroll just fine on the desktop version. Wish I could do a mock image of what I mean to post here but I don't see a way to upload images here.

20. Add Lumo's Logo and Mascot Info to the Knowledge Base

    Users sometimes reference Lumo's logo or mascot during conversations. However, Lumo lacks awareness of these details and must respond with uncertainty when they're brought up.

    Including official branding descriptions in Lumo's knowledge base would allow for accurate responses rather than hedged guesses or deferrals.
