1. Proton drive embedding for proton keyboard

   I know there's already a lot of discussion on proton keyboard so I'm not gonna go deep into it, but as we know, the reason many people don't use privacy keyboards is due to convenience, therefore, if a proton keyboard does come out, then an amazing feature would be connecting it to your proton drive to embed medias quickly
   This will make people use drive storage a lot quicker, leading to more purchases and stuff

3. MS Teams like collaboration environment using proton ecosystem

   Environment that has similar chat, channel etc features as MS Teams. Ability to add app like features there, such as calendar and meets. Easy file sharing that uses the proton Drive.

   I would switch instantly to proton if that would be available.

4. Data Sensitivity Labels in the Proton Ecosystem

   Hi Proton Team,

   Could I please suggest the addition of Data Sensitivity labels within the Proton ecosystem, applicable to both personal and business accounts.

   The value of this would be that users could apply specific, tailored security controls against these sensitivity labels where appropriate. These controls would provide additional security through the data lifecycle without creating unnecessary additional friction. This would be a significant market differentiator, as far as I am aware only enterprise licenses provide these sorts of features. This would be a similar model that Microsoft and Google already implement with their zero trust initiatives.

   As default there could be 3 sensitivity tiers, with the option for users or admins to create additional ones if needed. The security controls applied to each tier should be visible in a single dashboard, enabling easy comparison, with simple tickboxes to enable customisation of different security controls across tiers.

   Sensible default controls should be available to support uptake. One way to do this would be to enable users to choose from 3 default “modes” depending on their threat model, helping them easily tailor security controls to their use case. Eg. a Journalist could pick a “High security” mode: High sensitivity documents would only be available in a timebound manner via the browser, following additional authentication using a physical security key. Documents would not be able to be shared, exported or emailed.

   Tagging Data
   - Sensitivity labels should be applicable to Folders/vaults as well as individual documents/passwords within those folders.
   - Labels should be inheritable within the document hierarchy and should stay with that data object if it is relocated or shared, unless expressly changed by the document owner.
   - Data Type Labels could be applied to different documentation types in order to underpin future ABAC controls, eg. HR, Financial, PII.
   - There should be colour coded visual indicators for different sensitivity tiers

   These sensitivity labels and their corresponding controls would enable a number of further features. The Security controls below are NOT additional feature requests but are examples of the capabilities that could be enabled by implementing this feature dependency to help voting and prioritisation.

   • Elevated privileges or additional authentication confidence required to gain access to high sensitivity folders, individual documents or passwords, either through re-authentication with the users master password, or additional MFA eg: Security Keys, Proton Auth push notification, Timed Proton Auth Sessions, OTP, designated additional Pin.
   • Similar additional authentication required to enable certain actions against sensitive documentation eg. Viewing, Exporting, Changing, Deleting, Moving, Sharing, Sending externally via ProtonMail.
   • Similar additional authentication could be required to enable certain actions against even low sensitivity documents when done in bulk or rapid succession.
   • Automated retention or archival of documentation depending on data type.
   • Automated deletion of sensitive documents with repeated authentication fails.
   • Multi-party approval requirements for access to high-sensitivity documents.
   • Some Folders or files could be made unavailable through certain platforms eg. High sensitivity documents may only be viewable through the browser after specific authentication requirements.
   • Toast Notifications could pop up when users are attempting to achieve actions that are viewed as potentially risky against sensitive documents or folders.
   • Authentication could be combined with any other Identity or Account Health telemetry available to Proton within their current privacy model and combined with Proton Sentinel.

5. Plain Text Editor

   Support/create a true plain text editor. Opening text/txt files from Proton Drive would open a true plain text editor instead of the Docs rich-text editor. A true plain text editor would provide a lean, efficient tool for all text-only content. I migrated from Apple to Proton because Apple Notes does not support plain text..it is glitchy with slow, bloated rich-text features (same issue with Microsoft SharePoint). A Proton text-only editor would be lean, fast, efficient...it would standout in the marketplace as the only ecosystem with a text-only editor.

6. Proton QR Code Generator

   I have been researching QR code generators. What I have been looking for is a bit "anti Proton philosophy", but this is exactly why this might be an idea for you.

   It would be nice to have a QR code generator service that allows for some simple analytics which do NOT break privacy (if that's even possible). Of course, it must be based on a zero knowledge structure so that even Proton can't access the data.
   In short: It would be cool to have analytics without sacrificing privacy (again, if technically possible).

   Maybe Proton can pull this off with all its know-how and I think it would be a sweet addition to the suite!

11. Allow IMAP delete in Bridge to actually delete

    Right now when you delete a mail in an IMAP folder via the bridge, it gets deleted from that folder but retained in the "All Mail" folder. It would be fantastic to have the option to actually delete mail instead, possibly as a setting. I mostly use IMAP so I can quickly clean up unwanted mail with mutt, and it's a little unfortunate to find it's all still retained.

13. Allow Admin access to be granted to second user on Proton Duo or Family plan

    I've looked around online and I see that it is possible to have multiple Admin accounts for accounts using the Proton business plans. However, I wasn't able to find this same option when I go to "Manage Family Group or "Users and Addresses" in my settings.

    I would really appreciate the ability to grant Admin access for my partner so that they can add email addresses or change account settings without my permission.

14. Spreadsheet tables functions

    Great to see Proton Spreadsheets came alive. Looks super; even tables are present. It would be nice if the following 2 features could be added in one of the next releases:

    1) When adding a new line to a table, it would be great to have the formulas in the above rows are copied.

    2) When changing a formula in a table column, only the formula in the active cell changes. It would be great to have the whole table column changed to the new formula.

    Excel supports these 2 features, so maybe you could add these features as well. I'm looking forward to it.
    B.t.w. Will some kind of automation, e.g. scripting, macro's, etc., be added in the near future?

15. Enable 'change layout' for photos - toggle list view vs thumbnail

    Minor tweak may improve usability. Enable change layout function for Photos tab in web UI.

    Functionality already exists for files tab in same UI.

    This may enable faster processing of large volumes of backup files, e.g. album creation due to removal of the need to load thumbnails.

16. A Matrix discord alternative?

    I know a lot of people already made a suggestion like this but I was thinking I could give some insight on the tech I'd like to see implemented too, https://matrix.org/ is "An open network for secure, decentralised communication", there's no reason for proton itself to recreate a whole system if this already exists, and since proton meet is here too that could be the solution to voice chat integrated into the discord alternative.

    Currently there's like no viable discord alternative but if there's one company I think can do it it'll probably be someone like proton or steam etc

    I have a families subscription with my siblings and elderly parents, and would benefit from having a scaled down version for the families subscription that is included. Limited time and or features, so families can see their loved ones for an hour every weekend or off business hours. Talk securely about family, medical plans etc.

18. Sheets - Note Size

    I use the insert notes function a lot, and so does my team. However, something that is making using it difficult is the size retention. After creating the text bubble you can widen it, but after you click out it reverts back to it's default size. It becomes quite tedious to widen the bubble every time you read or edit the text within.

    Would it be possible to allow the bubble to retain the size once adjusted? It may seem like a small thing but would be a huge help and make it more visually reliable for the user. I would like to hear your thoughts, and thank you for your time.

19. Display Filters Actively Processing Emails

    Right now when you go to your Filters page and select one to "Apply to existing messages", there is no way to subsequently tell that it is actively executing or when it is done executing.

    If you go to the same or a different filter and select "Apply to existing messages" when the first filter is not done executing, all you get is the error notification "Another action is currently in progress. Try again later".

    There is currently no way to tell when you can apply a second filter other than to keep clicking and hoping.

    One solution would be to show on this screen any filters that have been applied and are currently processing emails.

    Another would be to just let us apply multiple filters for active processing simultaneously.

    UPDATE — It seems like even when you are finally able to apply a subsequent filter that the first filter may still be processing?

20. "hide-my-email alias" to have a "main account" feature to keep our main email safe even when using VPN

    I want to use VPN = Log in using main account and password. I want to use Lumo or Pass or any of them? once again, the issue of "is it safe for me to even copy paste my password?" but what about my email?

    Sugestion is: Allow Proton Unlimited features (VPN, Lumo, Pass) to be accessed via a secondary "Special" Proton Account linked to the main subscription

    Description: I propose the ability to create a secondary Proton Account, designated as a "Special" or "Incognito" account, that is directly linked to an existing Proton Unlimited subscription. This secondary account would grant full access to Proton VPN, Lumo, and Proton Pass features without requiring the user to log in with their primary main account credentials.

    Currently, accessing these services requires logging into the main account, which exposes the user's primary identity and data trail to every interaction. The proposed feature would allow users to:

    Create a secondary Proton Account (using a hide-my-email alias) that inherits the paid features (VPN, Lumo, Pass) of the main subscription.
    Use this secondary account for high-risk or privacy-sensitive activities, such as researching products that track user data, communicating with entities that demand extensive personal information (e.g., moving companies), or general browsing where the main identity should remain isolated.
    Ensure that the risk of abuse or crime does not increase, as the secondary account is strictly tied to the verified main subscription and cannot exist independently.
    

    Constraint: To prevent abuse and maintain the integrity of the "one idea" rule, this feature should be limited to one active "Special" account per main subscription at any given time. And have an expiration timmer so also cover the risk of people abusing this to "speed" their account or other issues.

    Rationale: This approach solves the privacy dilemma where users need to utilize Proton's privacy tools (VPN, Lumo) but cannot do so without exposing their main account identity to the very services they are trying to protect themselves from. By linking a disposable, secondary account to the main paid subscription, users gain a dedicated "safe zone" for sensitive tasks. This does not create a loophole for free access, as the secondary account is dependent on the paid main account, but it significantly enhances the utility of the Proton ecosystem for users who require compartmentalization of their digital identity. And on the ideea of one active, this means that if said account is compromised and will get rid of it, or we simple want to use a different one, we can at any time

    I want to use VPN = Log in using main account and password. I want to use Lumo or Pass or any of them? once again, the issue of "is it safe for me to even copy paste my password?" but what about my email?

    Sugestion is: Allow Proton Unlimited features (VPN, Lumo, Pass) to be accessed via a secondary "Special" Proton Account linked to the main subscription
