  1. plain text signature

I’m composing in plain text but the signature is only HTML and it does not convert very well to plain text (extra CR and spaces)

  2. A built in document scanner in Proton Drive

Try to scan a document to store in a safe place like Proton Drive. It's a huge vunerability in privacy by using a scanning app. What is the point of storing data safe when the data is already given elsewhere by a scanner app who needs I don't know how many permissions plus send data to unknown vendors.
Inwould love to see a scanning tool built into Proton Drive.

  3. Customized AI Ethics, taylored to the User

The current AI ethics is the standard CYA mode to protect proton from being sued. That is great for Proton, sorta, a waste of time for the rest of us, which lowers the value of Protons product. Having a private and encrypted AI session is meaningless if it isnt truly private, and not have Proton's lawyers looking over my shoulder.

I propose customized settings, complete with disclaimers and liability waivers if necessary. This will allow both side of the morality spectrum to be better served with this tool.

As it stands now, your tool is useless to a good percentage…

  5. Add category based DNS content filtering for ProtonVPN users

Not via third party custom DNS servers like OpenDNS, Quad9 etc.
Please consider adding this functionality to Proton DNS servers.

  6. Extend labels, nested folders, and smart linking across all Proton apps

Proton Mail currently supports labels and nested folders, which are very useful for organizing content. I would love to see this extended across the entire Proton ecosystem:

    🔸 Proton Pass

Add support for labels and categories, to better organize entries.

Enable nested folders, such as "Work > Clients > Logins".

    🔸 Proton Drive

Add labels and categories for files and folders, just like in Mail.

Introduce a way to create linked files or symbolic references:
For example, if I have file B in folder A and want it to appear in folder C as well, I should be able to…

  7. CLI Apps for integrations / automations

One big drawback of using proton instead of a big tech alternative (or nextcloud) is the lack of integration with third party services for automation or productivity.

I get that being E2E, it is complicated to make such integration through webhooks. But having CLI apps as a bridge could help (just like the App for proton mail bridge, but for all the proton services (at least mail, drive, docs, calendar).

It should be easier to integrate proton into any workflow with automation platform like n8n etc...

  8. Lumo - stop auto scrolling while lumo answers

I would like to interrupt the auto scrolling while lumo answers by scrolling with my finger, so I can start reading the message while lumo ist still answering.

Currently I need to wait until lumo has finished answering and then I need to scroll back to the start of the answer.

You can check e.g. chatgpt they have it implemented and it's a quite nice reading experience.

  10. Lumo android app must not require google account

The Lumo AI app can't be used if the Android phone is not associated with a logged in Google account. This is quite bad for people that ditched Google in favor of Proton mail/calendar/drive/docs.

  13. Lumo connection to Standard Notes

Integration between the two would allow users to quickly summarize, search, and organize their notes using AI, making it easier to find important information, generate to-do lists, and capture insights from long-form text.

  14. Lumo should have its own privacy policy

    Title.

All the other Proton product do (https://proton.me/legal/privacy). Privacy policies are obligatory in many jurisdictions.

Btw, in my eyes, the absence of this policy is a sign Proton is moving too fast with too little consideration given to important business decisions.

  16. Virtualization like QubesOS DVMs--to protect the masses from the impending AI Spear-Phishing Swarms (Heiding et al., 2025).

Recent research shows with a little development, modern LLMs can be used to fully automate spear-phishing campaigns-- from reconnaissance to email and evaluation.

These atracks work as well as human hacking experts with 54% success.

This also makes it way more profitable.

Average non-QubesOS users need virtualization like disposable VMs in QubesOS.

  17. Drag, drop, and resize calendar events

Would love to be able to drag and drop calendar events to quickly shift times, and resize the event rectangles to grow or shrink durations. Aligned to 15 minute interval grids. Like Google Calendar.

  20. LaTex rendering in Lumo

When using Lumo in my web browser (both Firefox and Librewolf) LaTex does not render properly. For example, Lumo returned the following:

    [ x^T A x \geq 0 \quad \forall x ]

instead of the actual LaTex rendering.

It would be nice if you could have Lumo actually render this.
