  1. Don’t append HTML signatures when replying to plain text emails.

I have an HTML signature that includes linked text with a call to action, like, “Click here to see my work.” When relying to plain text messages, the signature is included but without the link. There should be an option for a plain text signature, or “Do not use in plain text.”

  2. Patronizing updates

Proton just released a cosmetic update today in Mail without fixing Unread filter persistence. Nobody needed a new CSS theme. Please fix old bugs.

  3. Calendar: Better Z axis layering of concurrent events

When several events start at the same time, then Proton Calendar has a nasty quirk: It narrows the event title columns to just 2-3 characters wide, making it hard to read the event names.

Please use Z axis layering. It's okay to stagger the events or use other collapsing techniques. Just don't narrow the title width so much.

  4. "That idea has been deleted" - censorship without cause

Why create a user forum only to censor its ideas?

If it's obscene or totally irrelevant: yes, clear the spam.
If it is a legitimate idea, don't wipe it: decline it with brief explanation.

This is a shocking find that dishonors proton integrity.

  5. Lumo — Add a One-Click "Burn and Delete" Button for Messages to Enhance Privacy

As a privacy-focused AI service, Lumo aligns perfectly with Proton's commitment to security and user control. To further enhance this, I’d love to see a one-click "burn and delete" button for all messages, similar to what DuckAI offers. Currently, deleting messages requires navigating through settings and multiple clicks, which feels a bit cumbersome and slightly out of step with the privacy-first ethos.

This small feature would make it effortless to wipe message history instantly, reinforcing Lumo’s focus on user privacy and security.

  6. Customized AI Ethics, taylored to the User

The current AI ethics is the standard CYA mode to protect proton from being sued. That is great for Proton, sorta, a waste of time for the rest of us, which lowers the value of Protons product. Having a private and encrypted AI session is meaningless if it isnt truly private, and not have Proton's lawyers looking over my shoulder.

I propose customized settings, complete with disclaimers and liability waivers if necessary. This will allow both side of the morality spectrum to be better served with this tool.

As it stands now, your tool is useless to a good percentage…

  7. Desktop Application & Chrome extension integration

Proton services and products do not integrate seamlessly and currently clash with each other. This is an issue across multiple services and not just a Proton VPN issue.

    The issue specific to Proton VPN;
If both desktop application and browser extension is active at the same time, no connection is available in the browser (Vivaldi in this case, which offers built-in support for Proton VPN).

    Solution;
The browser extension should detect if the desktop application has an active VPN connection before attempting to create its own VPN connection. Similarly, the desktop application should detect if a browser extension is currently…

  9. Simplify 'Move to Folder' Button

When I want to move an email to a custom folder, I have to select the folder from the drop-down menu and press 'Apply'. Rather, simply pressing the name of the custom folder should move that email to that folder, thereby removing the need to press 'Apply'.

  11. Improve Proton's Open source development

Proton has two great assets, the privacy respecting side and its Open source orientation.
However, some apps/services still aren't published openly (Calendar app for Android/iOS, amongst others).
    So :
    1. Make all apps and services open source
    2. Activate issues on repositories
    3. Invite community to actively participate in the development of the ecosystem
=> Proton apps become more reliable, with faster feature development and availability and it allows for greater transparency and sense of trust from the customers and community.

  14. Mail fails to persist read status

Proton Mail sometimes fails to mark emails as read.

Tried opening and closing the email. No change in behavior.

Tried scrolling from top to bottom of the email. No change in behavior.

  15. Addition of "Copy" feature to filter definitions

Currently, filter definitions only facilitate moving an email to another folder. An addition of the possibility to COPY an email to a folder (mutually exclusive of MOVE) would be most welcome. Quite often I wish to retain the original email in the inbox, but additionally auto-copy said email to a specific folder. Perhaps this feature exists already and I have missed it?

  16. Accomodation

    Dear Proton Team,

I am a deaf user who relies heavily on visual communication tools and AI assistance to read, understand, and compose written content. Lumo’s AI capabilities are essential for me to interact with digital information independently.

However, the current pricing model makes these indispensable features effectively unavailable to many deaf users who cannot afford the additional cost. This creates a disparity in accessibility: a tool designed to aid communication becomes a financial obstacle for the very community that needs it most.

I respectfully request that Proton consider one (or more) of the following accommodations:

    A discounted or free…

  18. [Lumo] "Get Lumo Plus" button in the toolbar should direct to page where benefits of subscription are explained

Minor suggestion regarding user experience, but:

Current implementation: "Get Lumo Plus" button takes to account management and subscription page - directly to subscription. This does not provide context or information about the benefits that the Lumo Plus subscription provides to the user. User needs to manually search for the page what the Lumo subscription will offer.

Suggested solution: Clicking the button opens a modal in the same page or a separate link to a page that provides more information about Lumo Plus' benefits.

  19. Partially free accounts having the option to use the shortened email

Why shouldn't a partially free account use the shortened email? What I mean by that is that since you create an account, you have a pm.me email address just to receive emails. When someone subscribes to a product separately, like Proton Pass, on my occasion, it would have been better to have the option to use at least the shortened email to send messages. Next month I want to subscribe to the VPN so having to pay for 2 products, shouldn't I be eligible to use the shortened email. This is a suggestion, but people who understand better please let…

  20. displaying emails on the smartphone application

Adapt the display of email content for reading on a smartphone.

It is clearly easier to read a "gmail" email than a "protonmail" one. On the latter you have to zoom in and scroll from left to right to read the content.
