  1. Rethink customer support

    Every time I submit a request for customer support, I get a response that misses the point, is vague and phrased in irritating corporate-speak. It seems to me that you are using some half-baked AI or some really stupid and/or over-managed people.

  2. Yubikey support without authenticator app

    Please add yubikey support on all products?

    Individual passwords per product would be a good feature.

    Please remove authenticator app dependency or release a proton authenticator app.

    And please lose the Google integration completely!!! Most of us use proton to get rid of Google.

    A. Now wrong ?

    B. No really helpful in the way it is worded.

    The idea of such a page is to guide you from where you are (it does not mention this? e.g in the web interface) to where you want to be (it does not either give a useful link OR the "steps" you need to take (or what would be useful) a LINK.

  4. Privacy focused git repository for open source Proton development

    Replace Proton GitHub repositories with a more privacy focused alternative, like Codeberg or a Proton hosted Gitlab.
    GitHub is less and less user and privacy-friendly, as they do not tolerate aliased addresses, like those from Proton/SimpleLogin (!).
    Also, things like AI training clearly make a respecting git repository for the development of Proton apps even more attractive.

  6. Don't obscure date/time when hovering over message

    Please don't obscure the date/time of receipt when hovering over a message in the inbox. At the moment, hovering over a message brings up the open, trash, archive, and snooze buttons, obscuring the date and time the message was received. Just add those buttons next to that info.

  7. Inactivity Protection Mechanism

    With the recent updated inactive account policy implemented (https://proton.me/support/inactive-accounts), I'd like to suggest the idea for Proton accounts to have an inactivity protection mechanism.

    What is an Inactivity Protection Mechanism?

    An inactivity protection mechanism is a system that automatically triggers a predetermined action when a user fails to engage with their email account within a specified timeframe. This feature would ensure that if a user becomes unavailable or incapacitated, their email account can be secured and protected from unauthorized access.

    How it could work

    1. Users opt-in to enable the inactivity protection mechanism for their email account.

  8. Configure if mail or calendar desktop app opens first

    It would be nice to choose, if you wanna start Mail or Calendar in the new Windows App. Much better would be to have a separate shortcut for each of them.

  9. Improve UI when deleting messages

    Currently, when you delete a message there's a popup near the bottom of the screen that offers an undo option. This is difficult to react to and use if you delete a message by mistake, especially if you're deleting several messages and there are several identical popups on the screen concurrently.

    Suggestion: when you click the delete icon on a message, change it to an undo icon. Do not remove the message from the list for a few seconds.

    The dark theme on Drive and VPN is a nightmare: to have grey or dark purple text on a black background is ludicrous. who can read that? Maybe this works great for gamers who sit in a dark room all their lives and their eyes can distinguish between black and very dark grey but I think most people like some clearer distinction. Maybe it looks "cool", but it is impractical and annoying.
    I am really struggling to the point of thinking of cancelling my Proton subscription. We can select a lighter theme for web services why not for the desktop…

  11. Consistency with Ebony Theme

    The Ebony, Carbon, and Monokai themes are dark themes, but the i tooltip popups on the Settings pages show black text on a white popup background.
    This proposal requests a white text on a black (for Ebony) or a dark background (for Carbon and Monokai).

    Edit: To clarify, the tooltip is the i inside a circle similar to the (?) when Proton Uservoice asks you to give 1, 2, or 3 votes: "You have # votes left! (?)"

  12. Calendar and Drive icon too similar

    The calendar and drive icon are too similar, for accessibility, the tiny numbers on the Calendar icon really do not separate the overall look between the two app icons. Your Mail icon looks like an M, your first and main product but then you deviate from that style to regular icons to represent the other apps. Would it be quick and easy just to enlarge the numbers on the Calendar icon to help see the difference between the drive and calendar apps?

  13. mail.proton.me should automatically login to last accessed mailbox rather than redirect to account.proton.me/switch

    Current UI: mail.proton.me redirects to account.proton.me/switch and from there after you pick up one, it redirects to https://mail.proton.me/u/<UID>/inbox , e.g. https://mail.proton.me/u/41/inbox

    Instead: mail.proton.me should go directly to the latest accessed mailbox.

  14. follow intended username capitalization

    It's really a silly UI change. The welcome message on the email column layout capitalizes the first letter of non-capitalized username and it really bother me.

    if the username is "username" it should great "username" not "Username".

    That's my rant sorry to bother it's a really small change please fix

  15. Move item to another vault but don't change to the current vault view

    When using the move to another vault feature, do not open the new vault to inspect the newly moved item, this is completely unnecessary and drastically slows down the process of reorganising the vaults and items within them.

    Either this or an alternative way of managing the vault that is less clunky would be better.

  16. Session Management per device

    On my iPhone and iPad, I have all 5 apps installed. Each app corresponds to one line in the session mgmt. (total 10 lines).

    If I want to revoke one, I don't know which one is associated to.

    It would be ideal to have a session per device, instead of per app.

  17. Keep Messages in Sent/Drafts by default

    This setting should be set by default because I have been using protonmail for years thinking that they never figured out how to use the sent box properly because it would never show the messages I sent and it was very frustrating. I finally found this in the settings and it does what I think a sent box should do by default

    Way too many hoops to jump through to get to (external) feedback platform.

  19. Print button more prominent | Print shortcut

    To store emails offline I use the Print function to save as a PDF. Unfortunately the Print function is tucked away behind the icons menu triple dot button above each mail. This is a rather cumbersome time consuming action to save emails at the moment. Is it possible to have either:
    - a permanent print button in the icons menu above each menu
    - make the icons menu above each email customizable so that the print button can be added by user's individual choice
    - make a shortcut to print an email
    - add a print button next to each…

  20. Stop hiding Contacts! And Stop Bundling Emails!

    1) Please create a CONTACTS option & place it in a permanent, visible, location at the top of the page, or in the column under New Message. It used to be visibly listed with other options. (That worked!) Now it is almost impossible to access the contacts list. We should not have to open NEW MESSAGE and HOPE that the icon appears!
    2) Please give us the option NOT to bundle incoming emails. It is cumbersome an frankly, annoying! I would much prefer to open each new email without negotiating the entire oeuvre of correspondence.
