  1. Pause synchronization for a period

A feature to pause synchronization for a certain period on desktop.

OneDrive has this feature, I think this is a must.

  2. Create "Duplicate Entry" capability within Proton Calendar iOS app

The Proton Calendar iOS app does not currently support the "Duplicate Event" capability that the Proton Mail PC app has. Provide this capability to the iOS Proton Calendar app.

This should work when the source calendar is a Proton Calendar or a shared calendar.

  3. Open up Lumo

I am not a hater of AI, but the handling of Lumos launch is disastrous to say the least.

Never ever release a product, call it open and then have no code and no information available about it. Basing something upon something open doesn't make it open itself. Saying so is literally lying and is eroding trust.

Neither do we know, what models Lumo uses, nor do we have access to any part of its code right now. It's a giant blackbox.

Please open up the code and training weights, adhering to the OSI definition of open AI.

  5. Add Support for Liquid Glass on Apple Platform

    Dear Proton Team,

It would be awesome if you could apply Apple’s new Liquid Glass UI guidelines to your app, especially since you are redesigning the Mail app right now.

    Guidelines are here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/technologyoverviews/liquid-glass

  6. Modernize Standard Notes

In a market with consolidated competitors such as Obsidian, Anytype, AFFiNE, among others, it is essential that Standard Notes offers real-time collaboration features, in addition to the other editing functions of its competitors.

The dated interface is also a problem. When you look at the UI/UX of competitors, you can see how Standard Notes needs a design makeover to modernize it and get it out of that dated software look.

  7. Improve Proton Calendar notifications on Linux (sound, persistence, snooze)

On Linux (Ubuntu / GNOME), Proton Calendar notifications are easy to miss: they are transient, quiet, and disappear after a few seconds if you are away from the screen.

There is currently no way to:
    • enable audible alerts
    • make notifications persistent until dismissed
    • snooze calendar reminders

This makes Proton Calendar significantly less usable on Linux compared to mobile platforms and even basic desktop calendar apps.

Please consider improving Linux notifications by supporting one or more of the following:
    • notification sounds
    • persistent / actionable notifications
    • snooze support
    • better integration with Linux desktop notification standards…

  8. Bug — Lumo 2.0 Randomly Switches to Chinese Mid-Conversation

Title: Bug — Lumo 2.0 Randomly Switches to Chinese Mid-Conversation
    Category: Lumo / Bug Report

    Description:

Lumo 2.0 intermittently switches entire responses to Chinese during English-language conversations. This is not isolated — multiple users have reported the same behavior across Reddit (r/lumo, r/ProtonMail) with the issue persisting since at least Lumo 1.1 through the current 2.0 release.

    Reproduction Pattern:

    Conversation language: English (exclusively)
Trigger: Appears to occur most frequently during responses containing dense structured data (comparison tables, pricing breakdowns, URLs, multi-section formatting)
Context usage: Both occurrences happened at high context usage (~73%)
Frequency: Twice within three consecutive prompts in a

  9. Easy application update (in Linux)

I use a script to update Proton Pass. I would like to do the same with other products. I need the equivalent of this file https://proton.me/download/PassDesktop/linux/x64/version.json for other products.

Does it exist? Where are they for the other products? (don't you love bash scripts?) I just realized I retrieve the version file more than once. I will fix that if you answer my question.

    !/bin/bash

    NEWVER=$(curl -s https://proton.me/download/PassDesktop/linux/x64/version.json | jq .Releases[0].Version | sed s/\"//g )
    OLDVER=$( rpm -qi proton-pass |grep Version | awk '{ print $3 }' )
    echo OLD $OLDVER NEW $NEWVER

    if [ "$OLDVER" != "$NEWVER" ] ;…

  11. Proton's Sustainability

It would be nice if Proton had some transparency about their sustainability commitments. To be able to see if they use renewable energy and/or other sustainable practices, Is what I believe would be a great selling point for potential users.

  12. Notification when a photo is shared

I’m using Proton Drive to share photos with my family. It would be great if my family would get a notification when I add something to an album. Now they have to check or I need to tell them. Either a push notification in the app or an e-mail would be very helpful.

  13. Proton Meet - HD Video, Stereo Audio, plus pin speaker option

Proton Meet - HD Video, High Resolution (Original Sound) Stereo Audio, plus pin speaker option

Please make Proton meet available with the option for HD video (which can also be recorded in HD), and high resolution audio, for sharing music in stereo

Also the ability to pin a speaker so the recording shows only that speaker

Essentially, the ability to share and record meetings with good quality video and audio (like with Zoom, which I'd love to stop using, if there is an alternative with these features)

    Thank you!!!

  14. Ability to share files/folders with non-proton users by sharing a link and password instead of having to create an account

Absolutely need the ability to share a link to a file or folder on Proton Drive with a non-proton user without them having to create an account at all, e.g. proton user could simply share a password with the recipient and they could then access the file or folder via a link with that password.

The fact recipients have to create an account makes them opt out and request the use of unsecured channels for file sharing. This is NOT the way. Please add this ability to remove this important element of friction that’s preventing users from using proton services…

  15. Edit as new message

I miss the function which I know from and use a lot in Thunderbird: Edit as new nessage.

With this function I can take a message I sent previously and just update the recipient or parts of the context and don't have to copy and paste. I find this very useful.

  16. Connect iCloud address

The new feature to connect Gmail accounts is fantastic! Are there any plans to integrate iCloud (apple email) in the same way? Would be awesome to be able to integrate Google and Apple accounts directly in Protonmail.

(not sure if this is a change to an existing feature, or more of an expansion on one)

  17. disability

Many people use Proton Mail and Proton Drive to securely store important personal documents, including government-issued records, identity documents, disability certificates, medical reports, and application forms.

It would be helpful to have features designed specifically for managing these kinds of documents, such as:

    Custom document categories and labels.
Better PDF preview and search capabilities.
    OCR support for scanned documents.
Expiry reminders for documents that require renewal.
Secure document folders with quick access.

Title: Better Support for Organizing Important Government and Accessibility Documents
Accessibility improvements for users who rely on assistive technologies.

These features would make Proton even more useful for…

  19. Protonvpn: Server Load Category Selections

The privacy of every vpn is only as good as the amount of people using it. The more people on a server the more secure it is.

Protonvpn should have selectable toggles for servers with particular load ranges by country 0-30, 30-50, 50-70 etc. Selecting a load range will pull a randomized list of servers within that load range from different locations within a given country.

This gives the user more streamlined control for optimizing which server they are using with respect to their individualized threat model.

  20. Not having gnome-keyring as hard dependency for proton-vpn-gtk and mail bridge apps

I'm on KDE, many are. And your apps work perfectly fine with kwallet ! Good job, genuinely.

HOWEVER, your apps keep installing gnome-keyring, DESPITE kwallet being present, when you install them on KDE. And man has that lead to issues here. New wallets created at each startup, when auto-login is enabled, apps not remembering my account, etc.

And with your apps already working fine, if not better, with kwallet on KDE, maybe just stop forcing gnome-keyring as a hard dependency ! I had to create a dummy gnome-keyring binary to satisfy the dependency.*

    Thanks !
