1. It's time for change. Is Proton listening?

   Quick look.

   As a long-time Proton user, I'm concerned by systemic "UserNeglect" and transparency issues. UserVoice ideas, like staying AI-free (425 votes), were [DECLINED ❌] just before Proton launched its Lumo AI tool. A Proton Admin on Reddit even contradicted Lumo's logging claims, and the official website still hasn't been corrected, showing a severe lack of follow-through. More issues like spam on the forums, unclosed completed ideas, and responses that never come make this an unignorable issue.

   My detailed UserVoice post on these issues gets minimal attention, and my Reddit post is stuck awaiting mod approval – ironically highlighting the very gatekeeping I'm exposing. I'm a loyal user, not a hater, and this needs discussion.

   + Proton Office : Place store Documents , Sheet , Slide for Business and Work . Can Edit and View Docs With Everyone ( Add Password Feature to make it more secure ) and include who don't have a proton account can view
   + Proton Photo : Instead View Some Videos And Images just from Proton Drive ( Like Google Drive And Google Photo ) for who just want store photos , maybe this product i think can be good maybe ;) , Proton can add or not is Proton's choice
   + Proton Form : Place for Everyone can put thier Information without be watching
   + Proton Family Manager : Parent can easily Watch thier kids doing ( because some family want thier family more privacy but still in control )
   + Proton Search : Everyone can search Webs without Ads or Tracking
   + Proton Anti Virus : Stop and Protect Computer Or Device from Virus or Hacker
   + Proton Pay : Everyone can pay , include who use Paypal or other . Also , Add Debit Card Features

   In Kontakte (Proton Mail) sollte es möglich sein, den Geburtstag einer Person ohne das Geburtsjahr einzutragen. Dies ist aktuell nicht möglich. Ich kann den Geburtstag nur als dd. MMM yyyy eingeben. Dies ist ein Problem, da ich so das Geburtsdatum nicht eintragen kann, wenn ich das Geburtsjahr nicht kenne und kein fiktives Geburtsjahr "erfinden" will.

4. Improve Proton Mail!

   Please improve Proton Mail - fast!!! If Proton had a forum, I'd ask this there. Ever since the update with the new UI, emails take FOREVER to open. 5+ minutes. I cannot use Proton Mail like this on a daily basis. Please find a fix for this! The new Proton Mail app is supposed to be faster and improved, but this just made it slower and worse. Please fix this soon!

5. Help us get ready for youtube vpn blocks

   I just had my first experience on youtube (app, have not graduated to using it on Brave browser) where it showed me results for my search (biatholon athlete's name who competes internationally) and refused to allow me to use it unless I turned off vpn. I did a little searching and saw it's been an issue for 5 months or so, possibly related to the UK ID checking nonsense. While I'm seriously thinking about deleting youtube too many institutions require using it to view content that they require. I switched to another server and cleared the cash on the proton vpn and youtube. I can watch videos it shows me, I'm just anticipating a day when it will block all use with a vpn. I suggest in-depth blog post(s) on bypassing this with vpn settings, other ways, and getting youtube type content elsewhere (not another ****** platform that grabs as much data as it can and designs itself to be addictive).

6. No US social media platforms for news, discussions, etc.

   I would appreciate it if feature releases, the latest news on privacy and tips on online security were not announced and discussed on US platforms such as X and Reddit. These are private-sector platforms, and the US administration is using its economic and military power to prevent regulations on American social media platforms that would protect EU European users.

   The apps are always automatically checking for and updating themselves (on Windows & macOS) -- if unsure you can always reinstall the app and compare version numbers before and after, however you will receive app updates regularly across all of our apps by default.

10. Proton Meet: Feedback

    Proton Meet has been great so far and I have really enjoyed it!

    Suggestions I have had from people who have used it with me:

    1. Be able to see other people's video/faces while screen sharing

    2. Adding a waiting room and/or password to meeting

    3. Adding emotes to chat responses

    4. Improved background effects

    5. Ability to record a meeting (with consent of participants) and store in proton drive

    This is the end of UserVoice for me, and I have no intention to continue posting without change.

    I’m a Visionary who’s used Proton for ages. But I can’t anymore.

    As many of you know, I have been attempting to highlight systemic issues with community engagement and transparency on this platform and others. My recent comprehensive post on "User Neglect" was officially

    DECLINED❌

    with a dismissive statement from a Proton Admin:

    "Uservoice is for raising feature requests; please focus on improvements or new functionality for Proton products."

    This response is a clear confirmation of my thesis. This platform is not a place for genuine critical feedback or accountability. It is a one-way suggestion box, curated by Proton for its own internal purposes.

    Through my research, I have discovered a pattern of behavior that shows this has been the case since the platform's inception. Proton Admins have been posting their own ideas on this platform for years, often leaving them to sit for years before being marked
    STARTED or COMPLETED✅. This suggests that UserVoice has been, and continues to be, more of an internal road-mapping tool than a true channel for two-way communication.

    This conclusion is further supported by the bizarre inconsistency in moderation, where a profane post can remain untouched while a detailed, evidence-based critique is immediately shut down. The problem extends beyond this platform, as I've found evidence of Proton moderators on Reddit issuing outright permanent bans (see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/addy_io/comments/1lhpmck/comment/mz6mlbt/)

    and removing content, directly contradicting public statements that they "don’t remove negative content" (a claim contradicted by this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/1lct606/comment/my3dy8e/).

    Because this platform is not a viable channel for the kind of important discussion that needs to happen, this will be my final post here. I will continue my advocacy on platforms where my voice cannot be censored. I invite you to read my full report, with all of the evidence I have collected, and join the conversation there.

18. Support users with knowledge for effectively fighting anti privacy and security regulations to protect these features for Proton users and o

    I believe that we need more knowledge and information on how to effectively fight against anti-privacy and security regulation as citizens. EDRi does a good job, but their reach seems limited. As Proton is build on the concept of protecting individual rights to privacy and security, and as recent and current regulation-reforms are actively are undermining these pillars of the Proton platform, which of course are also pillars of a healthy democratic society, I believe that all this is a core fight for Proton and its users.

    I whish for better information on how individual actions can moat effectively influence the democratic machinery. A lot of people are only involved in democratic process when it is time to vote. I have slowly learned that we have much more power than that when we just realize it and coordinate our efforts.

    I believe that we need better education tools to help people realize how this kind of individual democratic power actually works, and how to use it. We also need better tools to assist in coordinating our energy for the most important fights. Actually, a platform like this one, where users can choose a topic and submit proposals for what would be important, and then vote on the most important submissions, would be great.
    The impact of this effort could then be amplified by combing it with collaborative and community inclusive projects, moderated and lead by experts in the field, to gather information, and create more easily consumed knowledge with regards to these most influential proposals, informing on what a proposal with regards to background, stakeholders, impact on society on on different levels, while focusing on democratic health and individual rights. The idea of having readily available and easily consumable high quality materials available for the mechanics behind the process of decitionmaking feels like a high value proposal to me. Especially if it is based on open-information and open moderation with an open review kind of approach, where individual review or ratings are made by researchers and other equally competent people.

    Making a EU wide union with EDRi and others, who has the same agenda, would be great.

    My proposal is basically to support or create a better infrastructure for community involvement in politics, mixed with a community driven but expert moderated platform for education and for aggregating the best value per effort strategies for action.

    I would start on the topic of privacy and security as is relevant for Proton platform with acute attempts in EU to undermine the platforms foundation, which would have consequences for its global userbase.

    The big example right now, is the EU proposal ”retention of data by service providers for criminal proceedings”, for which, I believe, the deadline is on the 12th of September 2025.

    Metadados são a “assinatura comportamental” do usuário: horários de conexão, localização aparente, padrões de comunicação, relações de endereço de e-mail, tamanho de mensagens, e até padrões de tráfego de rede. Esses dados, quando expostos, permitem:

    · Perfis de vigilância massiva (como revelado por Edward Snowden).
    · Identificação de usuários mesmo com conteúdo criptografado.
    · Correlação de atividades entre serviços, destruindo o anonimato.

    Atualmente, nem Proton Mail nem Proton VPN oferecem criptografia sistemática de metadados como funcionalidade padrão ou avançada. Esta é uma lacuna estratégica e de segurança que pode ser preenchida com inovação técnica.

    Sugerimos o desenvolvimento de um sistema unificado de criptografia de metadados, aplicado tanto ao Proton Mail quanto ao Proton VPN, com as seguintes premissas:
