  1. Stop pushing intrusive ads on Proton services!

An ad for the Duo subscription pops up every time I open a Proton service like mail or pass that blocks the entire screen and I have to manually dismiss before I can actually do what I logged in to do. I am already paying for unlimited and neither need nor want Duo. The overlap between people who don't like ads and people who pay for the privacy that Proton provides is pretty significant- this a tactic that is likely to drive myself and others away from your company.

  2. A Smarter Privacy Experience for Emergency Local services

Emergency local services often need to respond to customers quickly. Whether it is an emergency plumber, electrician, locksmith, HVAC technician, or another local service provider, communication can involve important customer details, addresses, appointment information, and service requests.

I think Proton could become even more useful for these businesses by introducing features focused on fast and secure communication. Better organization for urgent emails, customizable business inboxes, stronger spam protection, and simple tools for managing customer conversations could make a big difference.

For emergency service providers, privacy and speed are both important. A secure email platform that helps businesses quickly find, organize,…

  3. Better Privacy Tools for Small Local Businesses

Many small local businesses, including home-service companies, rely on email every day to communicate with customers, suppliers, and contractors. It would be useful to have more privacy-focused features that make Proton easier for small businesses to manage their professional communications.

For example, local service businesses such as plumbing companies often handle customer addresses, appointment details, invoices, and other sensitive information through email. Better privacy and organization features could make Proton even more useful for these businesses.

One example of a local plumbing business is https://plumberscovingtonla.com/, which shows the type of small service business that could benefit from secure business…

  4. Ensure reliable datacenter backups for core functionality like email or lose a customer

There have been two service interuptions with email in the last week (as of Sept 1 2026). I will not be a MailPlus user, nor consider any of this new functionality if you can't keep email as a service up. The lack of datacenter redundancy shows a incredibly poor prioritization by leadership / C level if stability in the most basic service of Email is being down-prioritized for Google Workspace replication.

Please set up the read receipt feature on the mobile version of Proton Mail as well.

  6. Collapsible prompt-answer blocks in a Lumo conversation

During a conversation, we may happen to have side-questions for which we don't want to start another conversation, as we want to keep the conversation's context, but we also don't want those side-questions and their answers to pollute or scatter the main conversation thread.

It would be great if we could collapse/expand each prompt-answer block, like in a code editor.

  7. Stop bothering paying customers with intrusive ads !

As a paying customer (Unlimited plan, €9.99/month), I was greeted this morning by an ad for Proton Duo that covered the entire interface of the Proton Pass browser extension when I opened it!

On top of that, 'special offers' keep popping up across every web interface. They are less intrusive, but still not what you expect from a paid app.

I pay for Proton ; I do not expect to see ads.

  8. Feature request: Automatically request read receipts on outgoing email

Feature request: Automatically request read receipts on outgoing email

I’d like an option in Proton Mail settings to automatically request a read receipt on outgoing messages, rather than having to remember to select Request Read Receipt manually for each email.

    Ideally, this could include:

    • an Always request read receipt toggle
    • optional rules by recipient, contact, or domain
    • the ability to exclude casual/personal messages while enabling it for business or important correspondence

This would be especially useful for documentation requests, financial correspondence, warranty/service issues, and other situations where confirmation that a message was opened can be helpful.

    I prefer Proton because…

  9. proton meet waiting room

Proton Meet is a fabulous solution for many problems. I was eager to move over to it once it had a waiting room feature to control who is admitted. However, having this as a paid only feature is just a huge bummer because that’s the only paid feature I need, and it’s cost prohibitive for solopreneurs. I already pay for Mail Essentials but cannot justify twice the expense for a single feature. Part of this is because I still have to pay for a Zoom subscription since Proton Meet doesn’t work with Cal.com (per another feature request I made). If…

  10. Dead man switch with scheduled emails

I'd like to propose an enhancement to the current Emergency Contacts feature, specifically for situations where the account owner becomes incapacitated or passes away.

I think there is an opportunity to make it more flexible by allowing information to be securely shared with people who do not have a Proton account, while also giving them more direct access to the information they need.

This design is in a way similar to what Google does:

I can configure a period of inactivity after which an email is automatically released to one or more designated recipients.

The message would be encrypted/password protected,

  11. Template

Reusable email templates for frequently used replies

I would like to suggest a simple email templates feature for Proton Mail.

This is an old and useful feature found in email clients such as Thunderbird: users can save a message as a template and reuse it instead of repeatedly copying and pasting the same text.

My use case is very simple. I run Psico.Online (my website) and frequently receive similar emails from psychologists interested in joining our platform. Today alone, I replied to around 10 people with essentially the same message, changing only the name and occasionally a few details.

    What…
