Optional unlock-before-autofill security model for browser extension
Proton Pass currently follows a browser-trust security model: once the browser session is unlocked, autofill is allowed without additional user authentication.
For users who keep their browser open for long periods or occasionally share devices, this effectively means the password manager is also unlocked. The existing PIN protects access to the Proton Pass UI, but does not gate
autofill itself, so credentials can still be filled without explicit authentication.I would like to suggest offering an optional vault-style security model, where autofill requires explicit user authentication (password or biometrics), and optionally auto-locks after inactivity independent of browser state.
This would…

Proactive security suggestions
Instead of just warning users when passwords are weak, Proton Pass should take proactive action. A feature that automatically generates strong passwords for all accounts and suggests a step-by-step migration plan to the user—such as “This week: Update your 5 most important social media accounts”—would systematically improve security. Gamification elements such as a security score or achievements for good practices could provide additional motivation without being intrusive.

Autofill intelligence and reliability
The biggest problem that keeps cropping up in user reviews is the unreliability of the autofill feature. Proton Pass often fails to recognize login fields correctly, fills in fields incorrectly, or logs out unexpectedly. Proton needs to make significant improvements in this area. Competitors such as 1Password and Dashlane have developed significantly more sophisticated systems that can easily handle complex forms, multi-step login processes, and unconventional websites. Proton Pass should use machine learning to learn from failed autofill attempts and continuously improve its recognition rate. A fallback mechanism that automatically tries alternative filling methods when problems arise, rather than simply…

Native Android optimizations
The Android app should fully support Material You Design and integrate seamlessly with Samsung One UI. Quick Settings tiles for frequently used functions, widget support for the home screen with secure but quickly accessible information, and integration with the Android share function to securely share passwords between apps would make the app much more practical. Better integration with the Android Autofill service with more granular permissions and a visual preview before data is filled in would be particularly important.

Expanded Vault Organization
While ProtonPass supports vaults, folders, and subfolders, it lacks intelligent organizational features. Automatic tagging based on categories like "Finance," "Social Media," "Work," or "Shopping" would be helpful. Smart collections that dynamically update based on criteria—such as "All logins not used in the last 30 days" or "All accounts with weak passwords"—would also be extremely useful. A timeline view showing when each login was created, modified, or last used would significantly improve organization.

iOS - allow copy of fields during autofill
When creating an account on certain websites and apps, the "confirm password" field does not get auto-filled. It would be useful to be able to select/copy certain fields within the password record whilst in the autofill window.

Log in to the Proton Pass app using the master password instead of Face ID or a PIN code.
On the mobile app, you have the option to log in using Face ID or a PIN code, but not the master password. It would be helpful to have the option to log in with the master password as well.

Proton Pass integration with External Secrets Operator
Proton Pass is a great candidate, similar to 1Pass, for a supported provider inside the Kubernetes External Secret Operator. This could be done via calls out to the cli directly if necessary, but direct API calls would likely be more scalable if capable.

Allow Labels and VAULTS
I have protone duo, and I want to share all passwords with my wife. Right now i used the only option you provide to create a shared Vault. This however removes them from all of my VAULTS which i used to organize them. I have so many passwords that I need labels for them

password sharing through link optionally locking with an extra password
When you share a password with a user who does not have proton pass you need to generate a link.
People with this link can always view the password when they open it. (You can put a time limit and a view limit it already)
My suggestion is that you can optionally put an extra password on this link. That way the receiver needs a password to unlock and view the shared password(s).
If you by accident send the link to the wrong person they are still unable to see the login credentials because of this.

Customize suffix in alias address/hide-my-email address
When I create an alias, I have some suffix option : .frosty150, .esophagus996, .penalize986, and .vagabond267. Look at those suffix, especially suffix .esophagus. why a human organ become a suffix for alias?
I understand, alias address is for avoid use real email address on some kind of websites like online shopping, but I want to use alias address to send email to my friends, my colleagues, my family. I dont want they know my real email address/email user name, but I dislike alias address with random suffix especially disgusting suffix like esophagus
I hope Proton create feature which let user…

Require Device Trust to Login
I would like a feature where when enabled it only allows trusted devices to log in. I want it such that any device not on the trust list cannot log into the pass account even with the password and extra password. Basically, lock it down to only approved devices entirely to prevent all unauthorized access from devices I don’t own. I would add a trusted friend’s (or multiple friends) device but without giving him the password as a recovery option for this setup so that if my house burns down or floods or what have you, there is a still…

Proton Authenticator Desktop App: MFA Token Sorting
The Proton Authenticator desktop app currently doesn't have the ability to sort MFA tokens at all. This capability is available in the mobile app so curious as to why it's not available in the desktop app. Please add this capability.

Dynamic window/interface dividing lines in Proton Pass Web + desktop
Please consider adding dynamic dividing lines or panes to Proton Pass (web app and desktop). This would allow users to resize or adjust sections such as the sidebar, vault list, and item details for improved organization and usability.
I’m not sure if the Windows version already supports this. I primarily use Proton Pass on macOS and iPhone. Currently, the fixed layout leaves quite a bit of unused screen real estate, especially on larger displays. Adding adjustable panes would greatly enhance the overall user experience.5 votes -
