How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Browser URL favorites

    Browser URL favorites.
    I don't know if is possible but I would like to have favorites (URL) saved on my wallet and not on browser but connected to my ProtonPass browser extension.
    Maybe if deleted will delete also offline synced urls.

  2. Golbal Contacts

    Global Contacts in Proton Pass:
    A roadmap to enable Global (persistent and the same across products) Contacts...

    1. Create a new "item" type in Proton Pass - "Contacts"
    2. Create name, address, birth day, etc. be sub-fields.
    3. Create a "visible in Pass only" feature for "Contacts"
    4. In Proton Mail and Pass Settings create a feature to toggle on contact sharing with Proton Pass - this auto-populates Mail contacts to the "Contacts" section of Pass
    5. Allow for non-"visible in Pass only" Contacts to be searchable for sharing Calendars and Drive
    6. Allow for Calendar and Drive

    Personally I would be happy with just 1…

  4. Each login links to 'update/forgot' password section of a website

    Let's say I want to update a password for facebook.com. I would be very useful if Proton Pass has a clickable URL for each saved login to directly take you to the respective webpages "change password" section and update the password.

    This would save a lot of time especially if you need to change many logins.

  6. Add browser addin "Vault timeout actions" as feature with different options

    Same lock options like Bitwarden:
    Vault timeout
    -On browser restart
    -Never
    -Custom

    etc.

  9. Hide password input when typing or copying a password value

    The input is currently visible in plain text when typing or copying.
    Please add the option to obfuscate to protect from prying eyes while manually creating my password

  10. Enable Sign-in via .onion address

    Currently, you cannot login to proton pass using the .onion domain for Proton.
    This is on default firefox for linux, not on the tor browser.

    Raycast is a super useful productivity tool – and to have the ability to quickly search through the vault and copy the password from there would be great.

  12. Import / Export from mobile apps

    I only have an iOS device currently. I can't export my stuff because there's no web app for Proton Pass, or if there is, Proton hides it from the mobile browsers and prompts that I should download the iOS app to be able to use the service. Then again, the app doesn't have what I want to do so I'm stuck.

  13. Add Importing of Secure Notes

    Switching to Proton Pass from other services would be a lot more motivating if Secure Notes were also imported. Losing half of your data or having to reenter in data deters new sign-ups to Proton Pass.

    To be able to accomplish this, I think custom fields in Secure Notes will also be necessary.

  14. [BUG] Pass extention returns "Unprocessable Entity" when trying to login from Tor Browser

    I can install the extension (I couldn't before) on Tor Browser 13.0.1. But when I try to sign in to the extension It sends me to an error page that states, "Unable to sign in to Proton Pass. Unprocessable Entity".

    All features that should be present when you aren't connected work just fine (to the best of my knowledge), it's just that.

  15. proton logout logs out proton pass extension

    When i login to my proton account, do something, then log out, proton pass firefox extension is also logged out. this is quite a nuisance if the proton credentials are stored inside proton pass and nowhere else. had to reset my account today.

  16. auto-fill for secure password should have settings on how that auto-create password should be

    when on a field form, there's already a popup to use a secure generated password and provides an option. This option should have the default be configurable. Many times there are a certain # of characters I'd like to keep with all passwords, and only alter that when exceptions are required

  17. Custom Password Fields

    Often one needs to generate something other than a password (say, for a security question).

    Proposal: modify the "add more" list of options to allow for "custom password field". This field would allow the user to regenerate a random password right in the login record. The field would have to be nameable, just like the custom text field.

  19. Add a Firefox Mobile browser extension for Android

    Unlike most mobile browsers, Firefox on Android supports add-ons like Adguard or Bitwarden.

    Having Proton Pass as one of them would allow easy access to login credentials without leaving the app.

  20. To use the browser extension with a password

    The web browser extension is logging automatically. I believe it is important to choose whether your use it automatically or you decide to use it with a password. Anybody can see your passwords just looking in this extension. Thanks.
