1. Unlocking browser extension when unlocking the desktop app (connect Proton Pass desktop with Proton Pass in the browser)

   IMO it would be great if you could connect the Proton Pass desktop app with the browser extension.

   (Coming from 1Password it's a feature I'm missing. That's the name of the setting there:
   "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app: When the extension and the desktop app are connected, they lock and unlock together. Biometrics will be used if available.")

3. REQUIRE hardware key for login

   I’d really like it easy to set it so that my account cannot be logged into, not one single proton app used AT ALL, unless I have authenticated THAT session with a hardware key. As Proton enters ecosystem mode, it becomes even more tempting as a target for hackers.

4. Make the AutoFill Window on IOS more Useful

   Improve the autofill window on IOS with editing option for every entry

   When you open the autofill window on IOS using 1Password you can from there edit any credential from the autofill window directly like email or password etc.this is critical and is the reason i haven't switched from 1Password to Proton Pass since its annoying to open the app when i just want to change the Password i generated because the website doesn't accept the length of the password in 1Password i can just open the Autofill Window regenerate a Password save it and autofill it all from there in Proton i would need to go to the app and change it there if this is added i would truly switch to proton but i still think you can improve the autofill window 1Passwords is much better than protons

5. Retrieve SMS Codes automatically

   When logging into an account that uses SMS-based 2FA, Proton Pass should automatically detect the incoming OTP and offer to autofill it with a single tap — just like it already does for TOTP codes.

   This could be done using Android's SMS Retriever API, similar to what was implemented by Dahslane and other password managers.

6. Autofill from extension after search

   I've saved more than 200 login items for single website. All are for different companies and all are legit. So when I'm using proton pass it shows me drop-down with 200 login items for that site - there's no search field.. So I would love to use keyboard shortcut to open extension and then use search field and press on wanted item to autofill. And the moment all I can do is scroll in that drop-down and look for one correct item or use search in extension and then manually copy and paste credentials, which is nonsense.

7. More options for "Auto-lock after" and allow "Auto-lock after LAST USED"

   1) More timing options:
   Today the "Auto-lock after" has just a few options, I'd like to see a couple more other than
   - 1min
   - 2min
   - 5min
   - 10min
   - 1hr

   Maybe add a couple more and allow a bigger upper limit:

   • 30 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes. I've seen some pass managers to allow up to 4 hours.

   Or, just set an bigger upper limit and let the user give their own number between 1min and X hours (new upper limit)

   2) Add option to "Auto-lock after LAST USED"
   Example (using 1hr to Auto-lock):

   • Unlocked at 10am (set to lock at 11am)
   • Used pass manager again at 10:15am (sets to lock at 11:15am since I just used and i'd like to lock after one hour of my last use)

8. Send email login alerts

   It would be good if Proton Pass could send an email alert for new login attempts to an email address the user specifies.

   The current login attempt notification from Proton Mail doesn't work for a) users of custom roms due to lack of unified push and b) users of only Proton Pass.

9. DropBox Passwords needs an import

   DropBox is removing their otherwise simple and awesome password feature. I suspect the simplicity I love is the reason they have decided to let other solutions provide that particular feature.

   On Oct 8, 2025, all passwords will be gone. As we approach, more and more people are going to look for an easy way to transfer their stuff. It would be good marketing to announce that you are here to help.

   The CSV import feature failed - it wondered about field names. Looking online, I didn't find any description of what the CSV import could do or what features it could support. A simple page to allow mapping from one field to a Proton Pass field would solve many situations at least for the simple transfer case.

   I also suggest that a comment field or perhaps custom fields be utilized/created for all unassigned fields in a text processable way. Meaning where a perl program can process/use a regex to gather the extra fields on output. This would allow for post processing.

   I also suggest allowing for a record specific ID so that a reimport can update fields without being worried about other entries for the same URL/Title. Perhaps support a list of tags that can be automatically applied to the record, inclluding tags that you might want - for example the import filename, the date of import, an arbitrary import number etc. Perhaps a line by line flag for whether to update or ignore a duplicate entry, or even whether to ignore an import ID when determining if something is a duplicate (so it can not override or create a duplicate for an entry that might already exist).

   But at the end of the day, the DropBox csv export only has 5 fields to support. Make one specific to that, and you'll be good.

10. Improve the Accuracy for the Weak Password Detection.

    According to Proton Pass, this password is weak: !C2&e3D%BNaeyP
    According to Hive Systems, Security.org, Kaspersky, Nord Pass, and Bit Warden, it is considered very secure.
    If you generate a password within Proton Pass using symbols, letters, etc. with 14 characters, it considers that password secure, meaning that Proton Pass has a bias for its own generated passwords.
    Side Note: The password used in this example was generated by Nord Pass.

16. Automatically select the correct vault based on active Chrome profile

    I have multiple chrome profiles (for work, personal and school) and I have created a different Proton vault for each of these. It would be nice if I could associate a specific Chrome profile to each vault so that this vault is automatically active in that window without me manually having to change it. This would also automatically limit the number of autofill options I am shown to just one vault and would also ensure that the correct vault is always selected when saving a new password.

20. Encrypted file attachments on export

    ​When exporting data from Proton Pass in the encrypted PGP format with the "Include file attachments" option enabled, the resulting ZIP file contains attachments that remain unencrypted. This means that while the main vault data is encrypted, the attachments within the ZIP file are not.

    Currently, Proton Pass does not offer an option to encrypt or password-protect the ZIP file containing the attachments.
