  1. biometric login with extension firefox

“I have your Unlimited Plan and it’s great, but one major issue that limits me from using the browser extension is that the extension doesn’t support biometric login with protonpass, and I have to type in my code. This is problematic because I’m in an environment with a lot of people coming and going, and I can’t type my code in such a situation. I kindly request that you add biometric login support to the browser extensions.”

  2. Username Generator

Some websites just don't need to know a name that can identify you across services. Being able to generate usernames for these cases is very useful.

Example: On Uservoice I just wanna upvote ideas that I like. The choice of username changes nothing. Therefore a randomized, meaningless name is preferable to stay anonymous.

That's why I used Bitwarden's username generator for this. Proton Pass should have one too

  3. Upload images on Proton Pass

Some sites give us cards in .JPG format containing 2FA pass. It is important that Proton Pass has the option to upload images.

  4. Implement native Wayland support for the Linux client

Current client runs through XWayland meaning you build it as an X11-based application.

While X11 has served Linux well for decades, it has limitations in terms of performance, security, and modern use cases.

Wayland is being adopted as the default display server in many major Linux distributions and desktop environments (e.g., GNOME, KDE Plasma). For example, distributions like Fedora and Ubuntu are pushing Wayland as the default, and more compositors (like Sway, Weston, and Mutter) are becoming Wayland-only.

Wayland is designed with better security in mind. X11 has a history of serious security flaws, including arbitrary access to windows and…

  5. Samsung password importer

I would like to request the ability to import passwords from Samsung Pass. Currently, this feature is not available, and I believe adding a Samsung Pass password importer would be very beneficial.

  6. Proton Pass: choose autocompletion with username or email based on url/website

I have an item with email and username. The item is asociated to several urls (several applications in the same organization). Some urls require login with email, in others is the login with username which is mandatory.
In the item properties, it would be nice to define to which urls apply the username or the email on the autocompletion. At least show the two options in the popup for autocompletion.

  7. Keyboard shortcuts

Authy's desktop app is (was) handy in that I could switch to the app and start typing, without using the mouse, to pull up the account for which I need(ed) a TOTP code. With Proton Pass, I have to click in the search bar before typing to search. It would be appreciated and convenient if there were a keyboard shortcut to jump to the search bar in the Proton Pass desktop app.

Additionally, it would be beneficial if there were keyboard shortcuts to jump to different fields of the desktop app and to copy or edit them, without having to…

  8. Change the term "Master Password" to something more open and neutral

Such as "Proton Password," "Main Password," "Primary Password," etc.

    Resoning:

The term "master password" has become frowned upon in some contexts due to its historical connotations and the potential for misinterpretation:

    1. Historical Connotations: The term "master" has origins linked to dominance, control, and even slavery in some contexts. While this isn't the intention when used in technical contexts like "master password," many organizations and individuals are choosing to avoid terms that might evoke such associations to promote inclusivity and sensitivity.

    2. Modern Inclusivity Trends: Many industries, particularly tech, are reevaluating language that could unintentionally reinforce outdated hierarchies or exclusions. Alternatives like…

  9. Form Fill Shortcut

Needs a shortcut to fill out forms automatically like Ctrl-Shift-L that Bitwarden has. This feature is critical when you use only a keyboard for browsing.

  12. Categories with nested sub levels

Allow nesting to better organize the info. I'm using Datavault and the top level is Category with Type under that and Items under that.
So for my Category of "Financial" I have "Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Brokerage, etc..".. Then under "Bank Accounts" are all of my accounts with account info, login, PIN, contact info, etc...
That makes it so much easier to find things that belong together. I suppose I could create titles like "Financial/Bank Accounts", but that's a bit awkward and I would still have to view through a list instead of a category to quickly find what I…

  13. Needs more nesting to categorize more efficiently

Needs more nesting to categorize more efficiently. I'm using Datavault and the top level is Category with Type under the and then the Items.
So, under Financial I have Banks, Brokerage, Credit Cards, Retirement, etc... Then under Banks are all my bank accounts with account number, login information, PIN, etc...
I suppose I could use titles like Financial/Banks and on, but that's an awkward work-around. Having top level categories just makes it easier to find things and have like items clustered together in a logical way.

  14. Multiple email address suggestions when registering for new sites ("Use My Email" feature)

When registering for new websites, I have multiple email addresses that I may wish to use (one for email, one for my employer, one for my side hustle, etc) and also I have my own privacy domain (e.g. website@mydomain.com)

Could we have some extra choices here please? I actually never ever sign up for stuff with my default email address, I always want to use website@mydomain to sign up with ... so I can never use this feature you've built.

  17. Passkeys + Safari Extension (MacOS)

Firefox + Proton Pass Extension - Passkeys work wonderfully
Chrome + Proton Pass Extension - Passkeys work flawlessly
Safari + Proton Pass Extension - Please scan this QR code on a device that has the Passkey

    🫤

This is repeatable, happens on every website where I have a passkey saved, and is just really, incredibly annoying. Is there an ETA on when the Safari extension can use Passkeys like the Firefox and Chrome extensions?

  18. Added Protection for Sensitive Passwords

adding an option to secure specific passwords with an additional password to view or edit. This would provide extra protection for sensitive accounts and enhance user security.

It will be great to add a history menu in the password generator.

  20. autofill from extension

It would be great to have a small button on the login on the extension, to autofill.
I dont use the native autofill feature, i prefer through the browser extension like Bitwarden does.
