Unlimited 2FA for free accounts
The MFA shouldn’t be a paying feature for proton pass or any other proton app. This type of security nowadays are crucial to improve the protections of our account, to me there is nothing that would justify MFA being a paid feature.

I tend to agree with Suvo and Guillaume here. There is just such a HUGE opportunity here to pull people into the Proton ecosystem by making it free AND moving the market forward. I'd say it's hard to justify not to do it. Same goes for free biometrics across all apps if you ask me.
Besides that there are plenty of reasons to pay for Proton Pass! And like Guillaume says, it would make convincing others to use Proton Pass just so much easier.
Also, and I say this out of love, the way it's implemented now makes for a poor user experience. At the very least make it 10 free 2FA codes. Communicate that on the website with the free tier. Just like with hide-my-email aliases. But also in the app, when you click on Edit. Show how many 2FA's you have left. Then show the Upgrade-link when the limit is reached.

I don‘t necessarily think it needs to be free, but free users should at least be able to copy OTP codes from shared vaults.

What do you think entitles you to that service? It's a paid feature because Proton created it. They don't owe you anything.
If you want free try Ente.

I agree with the bitwarden approach, free users should have unlimited 2FA access, but pay for autofill and copy features.
At the very least, free users should be able to view 2FA and custom fields from a vault shared with them from a plus user.

One of the things that makes Proton Pass worth paying for is unlimited aliases and unlimited 2FA codes. I don't think free users should get unlimited 2FA.

Not unlimited but like 8-10 accounts, they still need people to buy their premium subscriptions.

This should be baked into the free plan, considering Passkeys which are a higher level of security are already available for free in the base plan. Maybe consider having about 20 or so 2FA codes for the base plan - free account

Yes!!! We need this, I don't want to be stuck with only 3 MFA or whatever the limit is. At least make it like 20, it should be enough for most people.

I agree with this.

They already offer multiple device for free, which is really a lot compared to others. Don't you think it's asking for too much for unlimited 2FA? What would be the point for us who have a paid plan then? Basically you want a premium service for free provided by a company that has maintenance costs. You're aksing for too much, man.

Bitwarden does it the perfect way as a company, TOTP access for all with a dedicated app, but autofill TOTP for paid users only. So everybody is protected but people can pay for convenience.

Suvo commented
Need unrestricted access to TOTP feature for free accounts.
Because Proton pass storage needs are negligible, so as a security & privacy focused firm, Proton should encourage their community to use TOTP for as many account as possible to stay secure.
Every competitor at this Password Management market doesn't offer TOTP access for their FREE tier service.
If Proton takes this initiative it's gonna be huge step, more people will be attracted towards Proton Pass. -

At least, make unlimited 2FA for Mail Plus account. In my case, I only use Proton for mails and passwords. I don't want to upgrade to the unlimited formula because I won't be using the 500GB drive storage.

There are a few adages that apply here. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" and "avoid single points of failure".
I'll NEVER have any password manager also store 2FA information. If the password manager gets compromised, then everything is lost.
However, by having TOTPs stored and managed in an independent authenticator app, BOTH the password manager AND the authenticator must be compromised in order to gain access.
Soldiers have a saying, 'Never put comfort before security" and users should "Never put convenience before security."

It’s a paid feature at BW too so I don’t agree to give it for free.
Maybe 10 TOTPs but not for each entry -

Absolutely, Bitwarden for example already has this (unlimited 2FA for free/basic accounts), I was stunned when I saw I am limited with 2FA entries!

If not unlimited, atleast 10 TOTP for Free account

I'm a paying user and I agree that it should be free and would not make me go back to a free tier subscription.
It would just help me convince people to use protonpass and allow them to have an increase security.
