Allow Labels and VAULTS
I have protone duo, and I want to share all passwords with my wife. Right now i used the only option you provide to create a shared Vault. This however removes them from all of my VAULTS which i used to organize them. I have so many passwords that I need labels for them

Define which vaults are accessible via the browser extension
It would be useful (as 1Password does) to be able to define which vaults are accessible in the browser extension.
For example, if I have two vaults, “Personal” and “Professional,” and I use different browsers for work and home, I want my work browser to only offer me logins from my ‘Professional’ vault and not be able to see what's in the “Personal” vault.
And vice versa at home.9 votes -

Native Windows‑wide Autofill integration for Proton services
Proton’s autofill currently works only in the web and mobile apps, which leaves Windows users having to copy-paste or manually type sensitive data into desktop programs. This not only wastes time but also increases the risk of typos and accidental exposure. Competitors such as Bitwarden and 1Password already provide native Windows autofill extensions, leaving Proton at a usability disadvantage on the desktop.
To address this, we propose a lightweight, system-wide autofill extension for Windows — a secure background plugin that uses the Windows clipboard and input APIs to detect form fields and fill them automatically. All data would remain encrypted on Proton’s servers, and the plugin would decrypt each value only momentarily to insert it into the corresponding field before securely wiping it from memory. This preserves Proton’s zero-access architecture and ensures that no sensitive data persists locally.
Users could enable or disable autofill per application, maintaining granular control over where credentials can be used. The feature would support common field types such as logins, payment details, addresses, and custom entries. By integrating with the existing Proton Vault API and leveraging the Windows Credential Provider framework, the system can offer a native experience without compromising Proton’s strict security principles.
The benefits include faster workflows through the elimination of manual entry, reduced exposure to keyloggers or clipboard attacks, a unified experience across all platforms, and competitive parity with other leading password-management solutions. Making the component open source would further reinforce transparency and allow community auditing and contributions.
We hope the Proton team will consider prioritizing this feature to significantly enhance the desktop experience for Windows users while upholding Proton’s high security standards.

Proton pass and passkey sign in
I'm using proton pass for all my credentials and have the android app installed on my Pixel 8. Some sites allow you to sign in using passkeys, even if you don't have an account on the site. (for instance https://nnsc.tf -> Register). So when I choose "continue with a passkey" on the site, Firefox shows a list of options, Pixel 8 Pro, qrcode and security key. When I select Pixel 8 Pro, a notification is sent to my phone and I'm asked to connect the device. After doing that, Android complains that there is no passkeys. When i google this problem I quickly reach support articles saying that his is because Google is not set as my default password manager, which is correct, I'm using Proton pass...
Does anyone know if this is a problem that can be solved without setting google as password manager on my phone? Or if this is something that needs to be handled better by the Proton Pass app?I'm using proton pass for all my credentials and have the android app installed on my Pixel 8. Enhanced Search with Field-Specific Queries and Filters
As my vault currently contains nearly 1,000 items with Aliases (after moving from Bitwarden), finding specific entries quickly has become challenging. A more powerful, structured search syntax would significantly improve efficiency for all users with large vaults.
I propose implementing advanced search capabilities that allow querying specific fields and filtering by item properties.
- Field-Specific Search Allow users to target a search term to a specific field. The syntax could look like this:
title:live (to find all items with "live" in the title)
username:admin (to find all logins with "admin" as the username)
notes:"secret question" (to find items containing this exact phrase in the secure notes)
url:github.com (to find all items linked to that URL)- Property-Based Filters Allow filtering based on the state, type, or location of an item. Examples:
has:passkey (or passkey:true / passkey:false)
has:attachment
is:pinned
type:login (or type:note, type:alias)
vault:"Work" (to filter by a specific vault's name)- Combining Filters Ideally, we could combine these for very precise queries using boolean operators:
title:Microsoft AND has:passkey
type:login AND NOT url:google.com- Bonus Feature: Smart Vaults / Saved Searches As an additional feature, allowing users to save a complex filter query as a "Smart Vault" or "Saved Search" would be incredibly powerful. For example, one could create a dynamic vault of all items that has:passkey or all items from a specific url:.
Benefit:
Implementing these features would empower users to organize and find their credentials and notes with much greater speed and precision. Proton Pass: choose autocompletion with username or email based on url/website
I have an item with email and username. The item is asociated to several urls (several applications in the same organization). Some urls require login with email, in others is the login with username which is mandatory.
In the item properties, it would be nice to define to which urls apply the username or the email on the autocompletion. At least show the two options in the popup for autocompletion.30 votes -
Allow direct signalling of URL where autofill fails
Autofill still does not work on many websites (App Store Connect or a Wordpress installation with 2FA being just some of them). In this case, it would be great if the browser extensions had a simple button to send the URL to Proton so that they could work on that website. I have not found a simple way to flag a given URL, other than opening and filling in a full-fledged support form. The browser extension feature would make it way easier for users to draw Proton's attention to the most needed login forms that need fixing.

Extend custom fields to include existing field types
Currently, the available custom field types are quite limited (text, TOTP, secret, date).
I would like to see Proton extend the range of custom fields to include field types that are already supported elsewhere in entries, such as:
• Website / URL
• Password (which seems to be treated differently from a generic “secret” field)This would make custom fields more consistent, flexible, and aligned with how Proton already handles structured data. It would also allow users to better adapt entries to their specific needs without losing the benefits of type-specific handling (e.g. clickable links for websites, password-specific features like visibility toggles or strength checks).

Old passwords record
A record of old passwords for each entry. This would be helpful in cases where a password change doesn’t successfully update on a website, allowing users to retrieve previous passwords and avoid being locked out.

ProtonPass Alias
Composing a new e-mail alias is not straightforward, You cannot add the alias directly to From. You have to create a reverse-alias and add a contact for the recipient. This hides the real email address.
After creating an alias email; the alias should be available in the From drop down list, to use directly.

Fully offline mode with cloud synced option
I would like to see Proton Pass have an option for a fully offline password manager toggle. During the initial setup, it should allow you to pick between Proton Pass servers, or a way to make an end to end encrypted password that would be used to store a copy of the vault's data on iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox etc. Then an option to make the password manager fully offline. If a user made the password manager work with online servers, there should be an option in settings to opt into the fully offline password manager. If a user opts into fully offline. Doing so would then delete the data on the server, but keep all local data on the device, then the user would then have the option to either turn on encrypted backups to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox or re-enable Proton Pass servers.

Reorder Items When Creating/Editing New Login
When creating a new item such as a login, note, etc, or editing an existing item, it would be helpful to be able to reorder the default and custom values. Right now, if I put in recovery phone and recovery email, and then later decide I want the email to be above the phone, I have to delete the phone and re-enter it in order for it to be below the email. If I had other items under the email, I would have to delete and re-enter more information. This is less than ideal. Better organization options would go a long way in helping users enter data with more ease.

Make Proton Authenticator for MacOS downloadable outside of the Apple App Store
Please make the MacOS version of Proton Authenticator avaialable via DMG download.
Currently, Proton Authenticator on MacOS is only available via the App Store, which requires signing in using an Apple Account. This shouldn't be necessary and seems like a huge miss for a privacy-focused product. I don't sign into my Mac with my Apple Account, and I'm sure many other privacy-focused individuals do the same. This makes Proton Authenticator entirely inaccessible for such users.
I'd like to be able to install Proton Authenticator without using the App Store. Note that all other Proton apps for MacOS are available via a DMG download - it looks like Proton Authenticator is the only one that fully relies on the Apple App Store for distribution on MacOS.Please make the MacOS version of Proton Authenticator avaialable via DMG download.
