Sure Apple Calendar looks great, but I've had too many reliability issues over the years with apple calendar to want this.

Agreed. I use labels a lot. The current options are very limited and not very attractive either. being able to create a custom label colour a la gmail where I can choose the background and text colour would be ideal

At the time i'm posting theres a Proton desktop app that includes mail and calendar - but this is not such a great combo. I frequently find I have to leave mail - and close drafts etc to get to calendar and then back again. It's a regular annoyance, to the point that I don't use the desktop app anymore, and am back in the browser where I can have each function in it's own tab.
It would be far better to have two separate apps so I can simply use the two functions side by side.
having the docs facility in drive is nice, but I really want my notes unified in their own GUI/app to replace the apple notes app - I guess I really want a version of standard notes proton branded and included in my proton subscriptions.
If the plan is to be able to log into standard note with my proton login and go - then I'll be very happy i think. I just want it yesterday!
