100% Agree with everyone here. I am currently on the Duo Plan and have been a Proton customer going on 5 years now.
I am now actively looking at alternatives for Proton services when my subscription comes up for renewal next year as I was expecting Proton to be better than Big Tech.
Proton is releasing unfinished products faster than Google these days, without ever completing the functionality of their existing products.
Essentially zero Linux support and the Proprietary file formats for Docs and Sheets is a huge red flag for me too.
They are going down the road of Vendor lock-in that is all too familiar and I think I need to get out before it is a huge mission to move elsewhere.
I moved to Filen recently and deleted everything from Proton Drive and have been really happy with the Linux and Mobile Clients thus far.
I hope Proton has a long hard look at their direction and course-corrects soon or I think I am out sadly.

As mentioned in the previous update on this feature, it is now being edited to be a request for slides.

I would like to just have .ods support to be honest.
Without a Linux Drive client, I have to rely on rclone to keep updates in sync and no way of opening these files from within Proton Drive.
Proton Drive is still not a particularly practical solution to be honest, I only use it a second encrypted backup (outside of my crypt on OneDrive) at the moment.

My Duo plan is up for renewal in Jan 2027 and I have contacted support already to state that if these executives are still in place by 25th Dec, I will be moving to other providers.
This does mean moving to a collection of other providers instead of one and it will cost me slightly more this way, but Proton was billed as the 'alternative' to Big Tech, but now we know they are run in the exact same way, just with better marketing!
