I would like to be able to use a +alias as the forward-to address when creating a hide-my-email alias. (E.g., I could forward all of my shopping hide-my-email aliases to the same myaddres+shopping@proton.me address for easy filtering.)

Edit: I found out that this is possible. First, you have to create the alias (in ProtonPass, go to profile-> Alias Management and add a Mailbox with the +alias). Then you are able to select the +alias as the forward destination for hide-my-email aliases.

Second Edit: Once you have the hide-my-email alias forwarding to the +alias, you still have to work a bit to filter by that +alias - the recipient address for the email will be the hide-my-email alias, and the +alias will be the X-Original-To address. So if you have a filter that looks for the +alias as the recipient, you need to edit the sieve for that filter to include X-Original-To (as described in https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/48302573-allow-to-filter-emails-by-alias).
