Add feature to view .eml attachments
A very common practice in business settings is to reference related email conversations by attaching them to the current conversation in the form of an .eml file.
Currently, Proton Mail does not support viewing .eml attachments, neither in the web app nor in the desktop client. It is possible to get around this limitation by using a third-party email client and accessing Proton Mail through Bridge.
Just as with .pdf and other formats, being able to view attachments in the .eml format directly in Proton Mail would be a big quality of life change for those of us who regularly…

Allow Sorting of Contacts by Surname
Please make provision to sort Contacts by Surname. Sorting by first name only is a bad idea and makes it hard to find a particular contact.

Partner with Signal for a messaging, calling, video app
If Proton could partner with Signal so that both customer bases could communicate with each other with messaging, voice, and video. One of the biggest limitations with private messaging is whether or not the people you want to communicate with have the same technology. Expanding the customer base would benefit the customers of both groups. Signal has a mature product running on all of the major platforms. Proton could offer international hosting, which would limit government throttling like we've recently seen with Telegram. It would seem like Signal and Proton could find common ground that benefits both of them and…

Remove notification after event ends
In Google Calendar, on Android at least, event notifications automatically disappear after an event ends. It would be nice if Proton Calendar did the same, to help keep the system notification tray tidier.

Overnight events
While traveling, it is important to know at what accommodation you sleep at night. These are events that span two days (or if staying a longer time, multiple nights). Is there a way to mark these kinds of events in the calendar? Especially useful if it can be clearly visible from the calendar overview that there is a lack of such a night-spanning event (i.e. one night one has not yet planned a place to stay).
Currently, on the Android app, we see by the number of dots below a date how many events are there.
To indicate the presence…

Docker Version of Bridge (linux)
Provide an official repository for Proton-Bridge as a Docker Container. Currently its only possible to connect Protonmail via IMAP to other docker services (Ollama-AI, Paperless-ngx) using one of many community made and managed docker images. Since many people are doing it, surely its better to provide a secure and trusted option.

Double-tap email to auto zoom
It would be nice if double-tapping the email body/text in the Proton Mail app for Android would auto zoom the text width to fit the display area. Similar behavior can be seen when viewing a PDF file with Google Drive. This would certainly improve usability and the overall user experience with Proton Mail.

Better email thread grouping by actual email replies, not by subject
Current way of doing email thread is not reflecting what it should look like. Emails with the same subject but not on the same thread shows up grouped together and it is hard to use.

Security or biometric lock for calendar
The only phone app that doesn't have a security lock in order to access (once already logged in) is the calendar. Assuming the worst and a bad actor steals your device and gets access to the phone, they have unfettered access to the calendar. Piecing data together via the calendar (data aggregation) can quickly compromise a person's identity, their circle of friends/associates, patterns, whereabouts on given days and times, etc. Having a security or biometric lock on the calendar helps add another level of OPSEC.

Simplify Proton Mail Bridge configuration
I have a growing list of self-hosted services, and am moving toward unattended installation and reinstallation. Proton Mail Bridge creates a challenge as it wants to be configured using an interactive CLI. Using the 'expect' utility doesn't work well because of the way log messages are presented. Providing the inputs via stdin is fragile for items such as imap-security (not idempotent) and autoupdate (confirmation prompt only when changing). I'd like to see a better way to set this up.
- Either use a plain-text file for general Bridge configuration, or commands that are idempotent and don't require confirmation (e.g. 'set imap-security…

Notications from shared calendars
When sharing a calendar, for example in a family, it would be nice to know if other members of the shared calendar adds, deletes or make changes to the calendar. It could be a change of time, title or date of an existing appointment. Or if a member adds an new appointment.
Would it be possible to add this feature to the calendar?6 votes -
Buttons should be at the end of the mail
Dear ProtonMail team,
I would like to suggest a usability improvement for the webmail interface.
Currently, the action buttons (such as delete, archive, etc.) are positioned above the email content. In practice, this creates friction: after reading a message, I often want to take an action, but I have to scroll back to the top to access those buttons.
It would improve the user experience significantly if these action buttons were also available at the end of the email, or if they remained visible while scrolling. This would allow users to act immediately after reading, without unnecessary navigation.
Thank you…

Native "Free/Busy" Website Embed (Bypassing Google)
Dear Proton Team,
I am a dedicated Proton user relying on your services for privacy. However, I am facing a major hurdle in using Proton Calendar for my business workflow.
The Problem: I need to display my availability to clients on my website (e.g., Wix, WordPress). Currently, there is no native way to do this. The only workaround is sharing an ICS link to Google Calendar and embedding that. This fails for two reasons:
Sync Latency: Google updates subscribed calendars very slowly (up to 24 hours delay), leading to double bookings.
Permission Conflicts: Google treats subscribed Proton calendars as "read-only"…

Address book with Android
Hello. I was wondering when you will address the issue of compatibility of the address book with Android. The philosophy linked to the replacement of invasive and tracking Google apps cannot ignore making your alternative apps available and contacts are an essential option. It seems to me that the request has been made for some time but nothing new under the sun. I understand other difficulties such as the inconsistency between the web and app versions of your products but, at least the use of the address book, seems to me to be something essential

Booking Page - Sync availebility from my calendar
I do photography on my free time, therefore my booking page might have availibility from 4pm to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 6pm on weekends. I would like to have the option to sync my standard calendar into the availibility on the booking page.
That way any meetings with friends etc. I have set in my calendar will automatically block the time in the booking calendar. In addition i want the option to then also block a selcted time before and after to make sure I can make both appointments.

add signature picker in the email composer
It would be really helpful to have a signature selector directly in the email composer.
I frequently need to insert my signature manually — especially when replying to emails or using accounts that don't have a default signature set. I also often want to switch between different signatures depending on the context (for example, using a project-specific signature instead of my standard one).
Adding a button in the composer that lets me choose from a list of saved signatures would solve this friction completely. This is a very common and well-established feature in most modern email services (Gmail, Outlook, Fastmail,…

Improve keyboard navigation in Mail Desktop Application
Improve keyboard navigation in Mail Desktop Application
Current behavior:
When using the Proton Mail desktop application in split view, selecting an email displays the message preview in the reading pane.
As a keyboard-oriented user, I expect pressing the Down Arrow key to move directly to the next email in the message list while keeping the preview pane synchronized with the selected message.
Instead, the focus appears to move into the preview pane. Pressing the Down Arrow key scrolls the content of the currently opened email rather than selecting the next email. This creates a confusing and inefficient workflow.
Expected behavior:
