  1. Newsletters view new tab : Archive or Other

Currently in the Newsletters view there are 2 tabs: Active and Unsubscribed. I would like an extra one, either "Archive" or "Not Newsletters" or "Other"...

Problem is many senders/threads are categorized as newsletters whereas they are not (for instance delivery notifications or login codes), therefore cannot be unsubscribed so they still appear in the Active list, polluting the list of actual newsletters.
I know we can send email headers to Proton so they improve their detection but there should be a button to mark the selected "newsletter" as "not a newsletter"

  2. Option to add a URL for an event

It would be very useful to be able to add a URL for an event.

  3. Further Filter Conditions

Add Delivered-To as a filter condition (along with Subject, Sender, Recipient, Attachment).

This would allow Catch-All mails to be Labeled.

  4. Appointment from Email

Add an option to send an existing email to an appointment (Calendar Event).

Either right click on the email in a folder, or as an action (eg Move to Trash, Mark As Unread…) in the email view.

Add the email sender as a Recipient, and the mail title as the Appointment (Event) Title, and the email text as Description.

For example, receive an email about a new journal idea with copious detail, create a meeting appointment to discuss with automatic detail from the email.

  5. CHOOSE WHICH EMAIL ADDRESSESS ARE ABLE TO LOGIN

    additional emails:

Please allow to choose which of the email addresses are usable to login to the account.

This way, the user can keep the login email totally secret, and the "public" ones impossible to try to use to login.

  7. Proton Pass autofills username and password - Mismatched input field labels

If we visit a website that hasn’t implemented password and username input fields correctly (with incorrect labels), Proton doesn’t offer autofill.

A button with autofill would be great; it would populate the first input field with the username and the second with the password.

  8. Comic sans font option

I think it is the peak of comedy to send my friends emails in comic sans font, and I would like to request the ability to do that here on Proton as well (seeing as Google already allows it). It's silly, I know it's silly, but sometimes we need silly things with the world the way it is. Therefore, I would like to request the silly idea solely for the sake of comedy.

  9. Default Text Directionality & Alignment Settings for Emails

As a user who mainly writes in RTL languages, it would be very helpful to be able to set the default behavior to RTL text direction and right alignment.
I know this can be defined within an email but it gets a little annoying when you have to do it a lot.
Also, on mobile I don't think there's a way to do it at all, so that would also be helpful.

    Thanks!
    - New protonist and loving it

  10. Mobile client - Respect quoting in replies

When replying to a threaded mail in the mobile client, I expect the threading indicators (>) to be respected. This works fine in the desktop client, but in the mobile client, the threading isn't respected, so when I try to reply to a message, the last sender's mail doesn't have the '>' symbol in front of their text, and previous replies are not incremented to >> or whatever.
This makes it impossible to use the mobile client to respond to long mail threads without manually going through all of the text and editing the thread indicators, which is crazy.

  11. Proton VPN GUI Linux. Enable secure core by default under settings. Due to Smart Routing leak

There is a leak in your Smart Routing Technology that leaks the real server location in the US, and you promote it as a brilliant solution.

This affects an estimated 6.7 million Proton users in LATAM.

On top of the transparencies required in this field, where there are rights of US expats that pretend to show in the country they actually live in and not where they come from.

On top of human rights that could be involved that I haven't even completely considered, there are dissidents expecting to show up from somewhere else.

There is also a commercial impact…

  12. A setting to optionally include the "From" email address in the Inbox View

There should be a setting to optionally include the "From" email address in the Inbox View (in addition to the email Display Name, which is the default).

I feel that not having this as an option is a security vulnerability. Here is an example: a local company (vet, physical therapy, chiropractor, etc.) outsources various aspects of online client interaction (feedback surveys, OTP, appointment reminder, billing, etc.) to various 3rd party companies. As a result, I receive emails from 4-5 different companies that all use identical Display Names ("XYZ veterinarian"). I have gotten used to the idea that it's normal to…

  13. Name the color labels in calendar so I remember what I chose for a category

I love being able to use colors for a category of meeting in calendar (red, blue, etc) but then I sometimes have to look back and confirm what I chose for a previous type...would be great if we could rename then from the color to "school", "work", etc.

I can't see whether someone already posted this since there are so many ideas suggested. Sorry if it's a repeat.

  14. Allow users to generate separate SMTP credentials to enable secure third-party integration

Note: This is a different request than the similar SMTP Token customization.

    Problem Statement

Currently, Proton Mail (including Proton Bridge) uses the same authentication credentials for both receiving and sending email. This creates a security risk when integrating third-party services:

Single Point of Failure: Any service with my credentials can send emails from my account
No Safe-by-Design Option: Even if I instruct an AI agent not to send, there's no technical enforcement
Least-Privilege Violation: Services that only need to read/process mail shouldn't have send capability

    Use Cases

AI Email Assistants: Sort, prioritize, summarize incoming mail without send risk
    Automation Scripts:

  15. Allow organizational admins to disable mail forwarding

Currently, anyone within an organization could set up mail forwarding and send all their communications to an insecure email, essentially exfiltrating company data. As an organizational admin, I would like to disable this for security reasons. I think this setting could live near the 2fa/mfa settings so that as an admin, I can lock down this functionality.

  17. Add right-click option to view received mail in a new window (browser).

It would be helpful to be able to either right-click or double-click on messages in folders in order to have them occupy a different window or tab when using P Mail from a browser.

  18. "Upcoming Birthdays" Widget from the Proton Mail App

Currently, the highly requested feature of integrating contact birthdays into the calendar seems delayed, likely due to the technical complexities of Zero-Access Encryption and syncing data between the Contacts and Calendar backends. However, a dedicated client-side solution could solve this issue efficiently for mobile users.
Since the Proton Mail app already decrypts our contacts locally on the device to display the address book, it has access to the birth dates in plain text. My proposal is to build an "Upcoming Birthdays" widget for Android/iOS that is directly tied to the Proton Mail app.

    How it would work:
    Instead of building…

  20. Encrypt More Calendar Details

Currently Proton Calendar does not end-to-end encrypt the Title, Colour and Description of the individual calendars inside the Proton Calendar app. I think this is a risk in regards to privacy, since with the names of the calendars and the times of the events in those calendars one can reconstruct a lot about a single person. I think it's in the interest of Proton to also end-to-end encrypt the information of the individual Calendars themselves.
