Auto-Delete Spam
For all email addresses that I have flagged as spam, anytime an email arrives from one of these senders, do not place the email into spam. Either reject it outright or immediately delete it. This could be a feature flag that the user can enable or disable.
It's tiring seeing my spam folder with 1000's of known spam messages as I try to look for something that may have landed there in error.
If I've explicitly flagged a sender as spam, I do not need to know that a message has come from that sender. It should be automatically discarded…

Add an option for dimming folders without unread messages
Currently all folders in the sidebar have bright titles. I would suggest an option to enable dimming of folders, views, and labels with no unread messages to make these stand out. Compared Thunderbird that uses colour and bold font to highlight unread messages. Categories (More, Folders, Labels) could assume the same highlight and unread count on the right when collapsed.

Datatype of dates in proton calendar
I tried to import a calendar from a different place to proton and got the error message that I cannot import dates beyond 2037. It may sound strange, but I have three long term things in my calendar.
I feel like introducing a 32bit bug in a relatively new product is quite the bad idea and consider this as a bug rather than a inconvenience. What do you think?

Collect emails every xx minutes from external mailboxes
That would be great to be able to collect emails from external email addresses using a task scheduler, rather than setting up forwarding on external mailboxes ( when it's possible)

Stylus - S-pen: follow link and select text (Android)
Proton mail for Android: Enable selecting text and opening links using (Samsung Galaxy Tab S11) S-pen / stylus - this doesn't currently seem to be possible. Currently when using the S-pen, I have to switch to using finger touch to open a link.

Favorite Folders in top left side panel
In both mobile and on web, I would like to control what folders are on the left, especially at the top. Outlook allows one to add folders as favorites and the favorites (if you have any) are at the top of the left side panel.

Import calendar feed link directly
I want to import my school calendar into Proton Calendar, unfortunately it’s a link and not an .ics file. Please add the o-toon to directly import a deep link. Until then I won’t be able to use Proton.

Contacts more searchable, organizable and messageable.
1) In my contacts, I would like the text in the "notes" to searchable. 2) I would like to be able to create a group with some contacts that I do not have email addresses for. 3) In the mobile calendar app, I can phone a contact, but the message button is greyed out. Would love to be able to message contacts from here.

Add color to event based on #tag in event title or body
I'd like to define tags or keywords and associate them with a color in my calendar. For example if I have a calendar entry that has the title "Drop off #kids" it would be colored green because of the tag #kids. If there is an entry such as "#meeting for lunch with Silvio" it would be colored yellow because of #meeting and so on.
The tags could be in the title or in the body. This would also allow a very easy synchronization of colors for shared calendars, because you only have to share the coloring rules for each party…

Allow Android app to open a local ical file
I maintain a local calendar on my LAN that I would like access to on Proton on the go. I am currently syncing the ical file to my phone, but there is no way to configure the android app to automatically read/import a local ical file.
Right now, in order to achieve this I would need to punch a hole in my firewall and make my calendar publicly accessible.
Several potential solutions:
- Allow the android app to read local files in the same way that public ical files can be imported
- Another option could be something like proton…2 votes -
Add the ability to delete emails only from a specific group
Add the option, when clicking to delete a group, to also delete the email addresses in that group. Why is this necessary? First, it is a common option in many other contact managers. Second, there are times where contacts are being sourced elsewhere and periodically refreshed via importing from that other source. Currently, the only option is to manually search for every email that is in that group and delete them individually. This is very, very inconvenient.

In Android Mail App, support mapping the delete button to delete message not thread.
Deleting message is more useful than deleting thread. Currently, to delete the message, it takes a scroll to the top and two clicks: one to open the menu, another click to move message to trash. There already is customization of the button toolbar, but mapping to delete message does not seem possible.

Add a 'Test filter' button when creating mail rules
When creating a filter, please add a “Test” button. Yandex Mail has this feature and it’s extremely convenient.
This way I could immediately see, without leaving the filter editor, whether my rule actually matches emails. Yandex shows a list of messages the filter would apply to.
Right now, many filters don’t work immediately even after saving and checking “apply to existing messages”, so I have to wait and guess whether I configured it correctly. This makes setting up filters slow and frustrating.

A Simple Idea to Stay Organized This Ramadan in Delhi
One simple idea that can make Ramadan smoother is planning your day around accurate prayer and fasting schedules. In a busy city like Delhi, knowing the exact iftar time Delhi helps you break your fast peacefully, while keeping track of sehri time Delhi ensures you start your fast correctly and without rush.
Having both timings in one place makes it easier to plan meals, prayers, work, and family time. It removes daily confusion and lets you focus more on spirituality, reflection, and togetherness during the holy month. A small habit like checking timings daily can truly improve your Ramadan experience.

Allow moving UI elements, like archive and trash, to different columns in the mail view
I would like the archive and trash icons to be movable so that I could have them between the multi-select box and the subject/message preview. This would make managing my inbox easier, since the message preview column is quite wide and the archive/delete buttons can be hard to see their relative alignment, especially on large monitors using the webapp.

Dedicated Proton Calendar App for MacOS
Instead of using the proton mail app for calendar, have a dedicated proton calendar app for macOS.
In the meantime, or if this is not something Proton wants to pursue, I would appreciate a couple of changes to the proton mail app:
I would like to be able to pick which is the default view when the app is launched to calendar instead of mail.I would also like to be able to two finger swipe left or right to be able to scroll back and forth between different weeks or months or days instead of just having the arrow…

Resizable folders panel in Column layout
On desktop and web, when using Column layout, I can resize the messages list vs. the opened message, but I can’t resize the left folders panel (Inbox, Trash, etc.). Please add an option to resize that panel too.
For me it’s way too wide, and making it smaller would give more space to the message view, which is more useful.

advanced syntax in search
Mail : Advanced Search Syntax, operators and Keywords
Having an advanced search syntax ("from:user@domain.com", "to:user@domain.com", "filetype:xlsx"...) would ease and speed up the use of the search feature among mail or other apps. Many competitors propose such feature but search engines (like Duckduckgo, Brave, etc..) might also be inspiring for a powerful search syntax.

Open emails inline in the list instead of reloading the page
When we use the layout 'row' for emails, clicking a message opens it on a separate page and reloads everything. It feels slower and breaks the flow. Check out how Yandex Mail does it: the email expands in place right inside the list without a full page reload. You can scroll up and down and still see the rest of the list. It's super convenient, fast, and there's no need to hit back just to return to the inbox. Plus it looks clean and modern. It would be awesome to have something similar here.

Minimal FCM notification payloads on Android
I’d like to suggest a privacy-related feature for Proton Mail on Android regarding push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
While I understand FCM is required for timely notifications and message content remains end-to-end encrypted, notification payloads are still visible to Google’s infrastructure. Currently, these payloads may include metadata such as sender or subject, even when Android system settings hide notification content.
Feature request:
Please consider adding an app-level setting that lets users choose how much information is included in FCM notification payloads, for example:Full notification (current behavior)
Minimal notification (“You have a new message,” no sender/subject/metadata)
(Optional) Silent…2 votes
