Possibility to create rules for events and emails
Possibility to create rules for emails and calendar (to send to folders as already suggested in an other request) but also for colour coding, auto-delete (gdpr management), auto-forward, save to drive etc.

Make the ICS feed live or nearly so! Every 4 hours is really too outdated:(
The current ICS feed is only updated every approx. 4 hours as per customer service.
While I understand this is “by design”, this means we cannot share an updated view of our calendar and risk overbooking etc which can be very impacting for work.
I have now spent several weeks trying to set up a booking system and it is really problematic.
Being able to share an up to date calendar is really important nowadays.

At least a colour code for different emails in inbox
I actually don’t mind having all emails coming into the same inbox, but would beed to know/see where they are coming from easily as the email they arrived to can make a big difference.
Like for the calendar have a colour code for inboxes which shows, as a label, dot or smtg similar (not the full line or it would become unreadable to the eye).Bonus: keep the colour coding as default for calendar events.
I am mac and iphone, but seems to not be a feature at all.2 votes -
Restore the Tracker‑Shield Indicator in Proton Mail Mobile Apps
Add back the visual indicator that shows whether incoming messages are being protected by the legacy tracker‑blocking shield on both Android and iOS versions of Proton Mail. Users rely on this cue to confirm that tracking pixels and malicious links are being blocked. Providing an option to re‑enable the old shield UI—or a clear, in‑app status display for the new shield—would improve transparency and trust in the app’s privacy protections.

Feature Request: Customizing SMTP Token (Password) Format
The SMTP mentioned below refers specifically to the SMTP Submission feature and is not related to the Proton Mail Bridge app.
Please implement one of the following options to allow the use of "Strong Passwords" for SMTP:
Adopt the Proton Pass mechanism: Allow users to adjust the length and format of the generated SMTP password.
Or allow manual input: Enable users to set their own custom password (and of course, password I have input must meet Proton’s minimum security and strength requirements).

Remove the subscription "Upsell" ads from Proton Mail Linux app
Please remove the adverts for Duo etc. If I decline once, or check a box for "do not show again" or whatever that would be great. I just loathe all adverts that I can't get rid of. Thanks.

When opening a mail item, that has multiples of the same email, open the newest one by default
Currently when you open an email, it doesn't open the newest one, but one of the other ones instead.

Mail search UI should indicate it defaults to subject line
Advanced search has all the categories, like searching body text, sender/receiver/date
Therefore I ASSUME that the default search (not advance) searches only the subject line (as some threads on mail indicate it does).
The User Interface should clarify this assumption

My calendars arrangement and sorting function
The ability to re-arrange the order of My calendars in the desktop side bar/event drop down menu would be a useful quality of life change. Currently, you must deleted the calendars you have created and create new ones in the exact order you want instead of dragging and dropping the sorting, which is terrible.

Notification settings disappear in the iOS app
There is a bug in the iOS version of the calendar app. If you select a preexisting notification in the event editing menu, but don't make any changes, all notifications disappear upon return to the main editing window. Steps to reproduce the bug:
- Enter the editing dialog of an existing event (pencil icon)
- If there is a preexisting notification set, click on it to edit.
- Exit the notifications dialog without making changes
- The preexisting notification setting will disappear

Creating events with notifications is tedious
Some points of friction scheduling events:
Adding an event on month view selects by default "All day". I don't think that using month-view justifies defaulting to "all day" events. I like using calendar view just to have an oversight of the month. I never need "all day" events, so this checkbox always has to be de-selected.
To add a notification, it's also needed to click first on "more options", and this also opens a new popup, which is kind of disruptive. Inline experience like e.g. Apple Calendar is much smoother.
Default notification options: "notification 15 minutes before" and "email 15…

Allow to create more than 25 calendars
In my situation I need more than 25 calendars. It would be nice, maybe even paying a plus if it's resources consuming.

Move to option improvements
The folders can be filtered in the desktop application, but not in the iPad or iPhone application. Please offer the filter there as well.
In addition, it would be desirable if the path were visible when filtering the folders. This would allow you to distinguish between two folders with the same name but different parent folders. Outlook does a very good job here.2 votes -

Remove Max Delay Limit for Scheduled Emails
The schedule send function is currently limited to a maximum of 90 days later. I understand the use cases for sending an email futher into the future is incredibly niche but I don't see any reason why there has to be an artificial limit to this.
I would like to send an email to myself at least a year into the future.
Can we just remove the cap like Gmail does?

[ProtonMail] Suggest Linked attachments instead of attachment direclty in the mail
Hello
I saw an article from bluemind blog which talks about linked attachments (https://blog.bluemind.net/en/feature-focus-linked-attachments/)
Would it be possible to implement this feature on Proton mail. If the file is not originally stored on drive space it would be stored automatically on a dedicated drive folder .
Link and file retention tuneable (for companies) would be a nice to have.
I think that kind of feature would help reducing global carbon footprint of mails due to attachments.

View recipient and one-click disable alias from main inbox view
When screening phishing emails, clicking through to detail view of an email often is too risky, even with remote content disabled. For incoming mail, would be nice to see recipient email on hover in the main inbox view (for tracing), and if the recipient email is an alias, have the option to disable that alias with one click directly in the inbox.

Email notifications and badges
On iOS devices, when the phone is in sleep mode or “Do Not Disturb” mode, the app doesn’t check for new emails or send notifications after waking up. The badge number also doesn’t appear. It would also be great to have an option to show badge counts for emails received in folders other than the inbox as well.

Quick Reactions to Emails
It would be great to have a feature similar to message reactions in chat apps, for example, being able to quickly tap an icon (like 👍 or ❤️) to react to an email without writing a full reply.
Microsoft Outlook already includes this, and it’s great for acknowledging messages or quick feedback without having to write a full reply.
For Proton Mail users, the reaction could appear inline (e.g., “Recipient liked this email”).
For other email providers, Proton could send a short, automatically generated message such as:
“[Username] reacted to your email with 👍.”5 votes
