  1. Increase filter / rule limit to 200

Change filter / rule limit from 100 to 200. Will help organize inboxes, apply labels, move messages to folders, etc. Using rules for multiple scenarios eventually becomes impractical to manage.

  2. Quick Mail Filter Creation

Can we please get an option in default mail view to create filters for incoming emails.

So you get an email for a new newsletter you have subscribed to, while true you can go into move email into another folder and click create a rule its very very basic doesn't allow you to customize anything and is always based on the sender.

What would be great would be the option to create a rule for an incoming email and you get a pop up with sender, incoming email (so allias support) as well as subject all filled in and you…

  3. Support Linux Mobile on proton-vpn-gtk-app

    Hi,

I'd like to request supporting Linux Mobile.

I currently use postmarketOS as my daily driver device and it would be great to support the proton-vpn-gtk-app for Linux Mobile devices.

    https://postmarketos.org/

I think we might need to use libadwaita here in order to make the codebase maintainable for all devices sizes on Linux.

    What do you think?

I'd be happy to help with implementing this. I'm a software engineering with extensive open source contribution experience:

  4. Don't update participants on Calendar Edits

Whenever I update an event in the Proton Calendar, all participants are updated. It would be great that I could opt-out of the Email update for all the participants, so I avoid spamming them for small nit changes.

  5. Grouped Calendar Toggles

I'd like folders for my other calendars so I can toggle them all at once.

For example, I'd like to have a folder called "Work" under which 3 calendars reside and have one button which toggles them all on and off.

I have multiple calendars from other people which are useful to view but otherwise clutter my calendar too much, so I often have to go and enable/disable many calendars in bulk, even though I basically want to just toggle the set of "calendars for this person/theme".

  7. Create settings option to choose folder to start new Proton Mail session

When I start up my Proton mail client (IOS and MacOS) the default folder is always Inbox. However, I have a bunch of filters firing that move my mail around and I want the first folder to load to be a folder that is selectable in the settings section.

  8. In Windows and Mac add the ability to preview the URL for embedded links

I would like to see a new feature for Windows and Mac users that allows one to preview the URL of an embedded link behind an icon before clicking it. This is an important security feature to evaluate an email for a phishing attack; As it now stands one must right click the icon, copy the link and paste into an text editor to view it.

  9. Allow changing the default "original message" insert

Currently it inserts the following when hitting reply:
-------- Original Message -------- On DDDD, MM/DD/YY at hh:mm Sender wrote:
Why a Swiss company chose the worst date format, I don't really understand... but the information is also too condensed.

It would be nice if we could switch to a more precise default insert, like some other email services use:

    From:
    To:
    Sent: YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm(:ss)
    Subject:

  10. Mail: Make shortcuts already available when hovering with the mouse over emails in the list

The shortcuts in mail are great, but you have to click on an email to open it and then the shortcuts are available.
It would be great if hovering with the mouse over an email in the list already enables the shortcut functionality, so you can easily go through the list and just press "t" (=Trash) to delete the mail without even opening it - or "f" to forward it.

    Huge time saver
You already check the hover state in the mail list, because icons appear and disappear when you hover over a mail.
Just use this hover state to…

  11. Add an option to remove pastel colors of the sender, add lines between emails

It would be nice to be able to have a setting to have the sender “cards” be compact and colorless like they used to be. As well as adding a setting to be able to have separator lines between emails so you can discern between different emails easier, it would help visually.

  12. Feature suggestion – Consistent DMARC/SPF warning in web and mobile versions

    Hello,

I would like to report an important security concern in Proton Mail.
Currently, the web version of Proton Mail displays a warning when a message fails DMARC/SPF verification, but the mobile app (Android/iOS) does not show such information.

This creates a risk that users who primarily rely on the mobile app may be unaware that a message could be forged or sent from an unauthorized server. In practice, this is a significant security issue, especially for users who are not able to manually inspect email headers.

    Proposed improvement:

Implement the same DMARC/SPF failure warnings in the mobile app as…

  14. Nuance in 'Not Spam' / Move to Inbox Filter

Contact Form 7 sends form submissions to me using my own email address as the sender, which Proton correctly flags as failing SPF checks. These messages go to my Junk folder - and that’s fine, because it prevents spoofed messages from landing in my inbox.

However, every so often a genuine form submission ends up in Junk as well. When I move that message to my inbox in Proton Mail Desktop for Mac, the app automatically marks the sender as “not spam” at the same time. I would like to be able to move a single message out of Junk…

  16. Emails sent: Add SimpleLogin alias address in the "from" field or in the email "header info"

When an email is sent using a reverse alias created in SampleLogin, the information shown in the "From" field or in the email "Header info" refers to the inbox. It would be useful to also include the alias address information to which corresponds the reverse alias.

  17. Contact: We write Family name followed by given name, so please add ability to change order

I'm dissatisfied with the Contact feature's default display order, which shows given names before family names. In my cultural context, the standard notation is to write family names followed by given names, so the current requirement to place names after family names makes the interface extremely unusable.
Please allow users to choose between both the "given name-surname" and "surname-given name" formats.
As a Japanese person, I suspect this would be equally true for Chinese and Korean users as well.

  19. Preserve Reverse Alias When Forwarding Your Own Sent Messages

When an email is sent via a reverse alias, forwarding that same message (e.g., to add a missed recipient) reveals the sender’s real Proton Mail address instead of the alias. Users must manually edit the forwarded message to hide their real address, which is easy to forget and defeats the privacy purpose of reverse aliases.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Create a reverse alias (e.g., alias@protonmail.com).
    2. Compose and send an email to Recipient A using that alias.
    3. Realize you omitted Recipient B and click Forward on the sent message.
    4. In the compose window, add Recipient B and send.
    5. The forwarded email’s From/Reply‑To header now shows…

  20. Feature request – Font size in calendar widget

    Hello,
I would like to suggest a small but very useful feature: the option to increase the font size in the Proton Calendar widget (iOS version). Currently, the text is quite small, which can be difficult to read for users with weaker eyesight or on smaller screens.

If possible, adding a font size setting directly in the widget would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I was very happy to see that the app now supports the Slovak language. Thank you for including smaller languages – it really means a lot.

Thanks again for your great work and this excellent app.
    Best…
