Hi everyone, this one is under consideration, pending anti-spam measures we might need to take.

Fingerprint Authentication for Android App
This would be the same as Support of TouchID for iOS. I know it would work only for Android 6 and up, but it's much more comfortable than PIN [of course as an option and not replacement of PIN completely]

Encrypted Contact Form for Websites
A contact form that we can embed on our websites so visitors can send encrypted emails to our ProtonMail addresses. The form could automatically encrypt messages before sending them, and have the usual fields like name, email, subject, and message body.
For example, the form could be inside an <iframe> that's served over HTTPS.
The embed code would need to use some kind of token instead of the actual email address, to protect the address from being disclosed to email harvester bots. Also, for greater security, the form could refuse to load if it detects it's embedded on an insecure…

Informing ProtonMail users about potentially unsafe messages
Hi,
I would like to see this feature added to ProtonMail.
When a ProtonMail user sends email to other email service or receives email from other email service, then ProtonMail will indicate / highlight...
a) When a received message was not encrypted (TLS)
b) When composing a message to a recipient whose email service doesn't support TLS encryption, or when the sender’s domain couldn't be authenticated. An indicator before sending a message to a service that doesn't support TLS encryptionThis will be useful, as the user can find out if email (sent / received) is encrypted in transit when…

Open the next email automatically after deleting or moving the first one
When I delete a message I want to go directly to the next email, instead of going to the inbox and then click the next email.
This feature is a simple one, but when you have to read a lot of emails it saves a lot of time.
It is available both in Gmail and Yahoo.
Thank you for your attention.575 votesWork on this feature has started, beginning with iOS availability.

iPad iOS Version rather than stretched iPhone version please.
Please make an iOS version that works for the iPad. The current iOS is the same resolution for the iPhone stretched out that has a cumbersome keyboard that stretches across the whole email view. The view can be a lot more effective and incorporate a higher resolution on the iPad. Effectively the app looks terrible and doesn't utilise the possibilities of an iPad Screen.

Auto delete emails after x days (in inbox and other folders)
Auto delete after x days.....
1) from a Information control point of view, it could be useful to have a maximum life of all mails before being auto deleted;
2) For long term use the space is limited and may fill up, especially if used with large attachments.
Being able to auto-delete emails after x days would help ensure that it does not fill up.The number of days must be customisable per account as one size will not fit all!

Mobile app for Jolla's Sailfish OS
Hi,
Protonmail is a great service, but protecting your emails is still not enough to guarantee privacy. Considering that Google openly admits it is capitalizing on all the data stored in our Android devices, and that Apple or BlackBerry simply do not communicate on the data that they collect, protecting our privacy will require more than encrypted emails.
A new smartphone software company focused on software has been launched by former Nokia employees: Jolla (http://jolla.com/). It is focused on data privacy, and wishes to become an alternative to Android. It has already shipped a smartphone and a tablet.

Encryption of all metadata
If Protonmail is to be serious about privacy, I don't understand why all metadata isn't kept solely in encrypted form. I just signed up for Scryptmail and any data is kept in encrypted form, unreadable for any third party.
I don't see why it would be necessary to keep for instance the senders or subject titles in encrypted form when Protonmail doesn't support POP3 or IMAP.
The problem is that otherwise e-mail is inherently insecure, because if for instance a governmental entity wants to see your account, while they won't have access to the content of your e-mails, they can…
2,072 votesWe have given this quite a bit of thought, but at the present moment, it is not clear the advantages would outweigh the disadvantages.
The biggest problem is search. Encrypting all metadata would break metadata search entirely on the web client as there is still no efficient way to handle search of encrypted data within a browser.
Secondly, metadata encryption’s value from a privacy standpoint is also somewhat dubious. Because we ultimately must deliver the message to the recipient, we must know who the recipient is. At the current time, there still isn’t any proven and viable way to work around this.
Metadata encryption is an area of continued research for us, and when the opportunity arises and the technology for doing this matures, we will definitely implement it in ProtonMail.

Allow users to customize the Encrypted Proton Mail message to Non-Proton Mail users.
Non-Proton Mail users often discard or delete new encrypted messages, because they may sometimes appear as spam.
Especially Non-English speaking Non-ProtonMail users.
It would be better if one could just write down something like:
"Hi, Mike! This is my new email address. I have sent you an encrypted email, just click on the link below and type in the password to open it. This is the password hint: ...text..."

Multiple Signatures
We really need the ability to have multiple different signatures that we can swap out, instead of having to re-write one every time we want to send an email to a different group. For instance, regs require me to have a certain format for my signature. However I do not want to be using the same signature for just everyday email. I also do not want to have to make an entire new account.

Contact Icons
Make it so that we can add a photo to a contact. The photo will appear as an icon when viewing an email that includes that contact, or multiple icons if several contacts with photos are involved.

Chrome / Firefox add-on
Even the mailbox encrypted, it is possible to subvert the code in your servers - or force ProtonMail to subvert it by court order - to capture users mailbox password and therefore gain access to emails. This is exactly how the HushMail got "busted" some time ago, feeding a specified user a subverted code, that captured the users password to them!
Systems like BlockChain Wallet use browser add-ons to prevent this from happening. Ever. Since the add-on is used to handle ALL communications from and to the servers, and it decrypts the content from the servers, it does not matter…
