This feature is missed. However, should be nested in a way that a query for the main label (label) should show all mail with this label, including sub labels (label-sub1, label-sub2 etc...) Adn sub-label only shows tjhat specific sub label. com on Proton team. This suggestion is from 2015.

Very important, especially if you have multiple emails under one account. I have hundreds of labels and need to be able to organize them by account. Folders will not work because multiple labels may apply to a single message.

Folders work for the highest level of organization - e.g., separate incoming mail by recipient address. But then labels and nested labels are needed for organizing mail belonging to a certain email address.

I am getting ready to move my primary e-mail over to Proton, and this missing feature is almost a deal breaker. If not for nested folders on the beta I would have to scrap moving, but this would be the killer feature to make me never think about leaving.

Please help us with nested labels!!!

It's 2021 and this request was first posted in 2015. I am disappointed there has been no commitment to even "looking into" this much requested feature, as I am also very much looking forward to when this is implemented, so I can properly organize my mail.

Nested labels would be a feature that I think you need to ad. In the beta version I have noted that you have already nested folder however nested labels is equally important. I have recently transitioned over from Gmail and when I transfered over my nested label structure it became a nested folder stucture in Protonmail but that is not what I want as I want a nested label structure instead. Please add this feature as I think it may be a dealbreaker for people considering transition over from gmail if they like me have organized everything (thousands of email) that way.

I don't know about nested labels but nested folders (i.e., folders + sub-folders) now exist. They've been live in the beta version of Protonmail since October 2020. I'm guessing they'll be part of the feature set when the beta moves to GA release.

Labels themselves are also indispensable when a more complex control of e-mails is needed (using just folders is not enough) as they bring another dimension into mail organization.

And when using a lot of labels, nested labels are crucial.

This is the CLEAR and most important feature to add for many of us to go ALL IN!

This feature for nested/hierarchical labels is the only one that is keeping me from making the complete switch and go for a paid plan.

I cant believe that ProtonMail doesn't have this feature! We need nested labels, or even better nested folders, so we as users can organize thousands of E-Mails we have.

It is 2020 now and ProtonMail users have been requesting the feature of making sub-folders (nested folders) for 3 years now. I am a software developer so I know that to implement this feature is not difficult! Sub-foldrs help us organize E-Mail and solve the clutter. This feature is very important for businesses and is a real deal breaker.

Yes - please add sub-labels. I personally favor labels over folders since I believe they are more flexible. I trying to migrate from Gmail where I have several nested layers of labels. Trying to keep that way of organizing will be very difficult - basically I'll have to prepend all the higher level labels text to all of my corresponding lowest level labels.

An absolute must for organizing labels, please add.

Well, this basic function has been claimed for a very long time... why isn't it yet implemented ?

Any news on this one ? I've so much labels that it becomes hardly navigable in the GUI.
Moreover, I would like to see upper labels of a nested label automatically attached to an email, so that I don't have to manually attach all them.
