Read receipt / confirmation
Would It is possible to know if the recipient open or read the mail? as https://www.mailbutler.io/en/ or https://mailtrack.io/en/
That would be great!
Thanks

useful (I think gmail had it for a while. On Mailbird, recently added) to be sure recipients got the mail and opened them.
Thanks about thinking to add it in a future feature.
Best regards

Reciept to acknowledge

I've recently found use to employ an option to include in some important outgoing emails a receipt or one click acknowledgement the recipient can use to acknowledge the message was received.

I use Boomerang with Gmail to verify someone has opened my IMPORTANT emails. For time sensitive emails you can set a time for it to come back to you letting you know it wasn't opened so you can take other actions to accomplish the task at hand. I would like to see this implemented into ProtonMail.

We all love read statuses in iMessage, WhatsApp, and Messenger. So lets bring them over to Protonmail.
Protonmail could show when people read your emails — use this to get in touch at just the right time. Close deals faster, manage more effectively, and respond with perfect timing.

This would be very useful, especially for teams working in different time zones or dispersed.
Great for accountability. -

They already do read receipts, but a DSN (delivery status notification) would be great, as it's part of the SMTP protocol already

Automaticaly send a notification message when somebody open the e-mail what we sent for them.
So by this we will know for sure the certain person read it (or at least open) or not.1. In common e-mails:
Should contain date and time opened, time untill the e-mail was open (so a guess he/ she even have time to read it all).2. In case of encripted/ password protected e-mail:
Opened straigh with the right password, or not, number of try from the same person, date and time opened, IP adress/ geolocation (city at least), device used, browser used, operating system used, ISP of the network (receiver). -

I think you should consider what implementing this feature means.
It means creating a protocol, where the recipient is required to send information back, when they perform an action on an e-mail.
This is probably the worst idea I have read on the Features list.
No, no, no -- Just no!

this is important when time is of the essence to have proof of delivery no necessarily a read receipt but the choice of both would be helpful

Hello,
Please allow us to automatically ask for a reading confirmation from the recipient when we send e-mails.
It is very important for us to know that the recipients have read our messages.
However, for security reasons, when we are the recipients, we do not want to send automatically to our senders automatic reading confirmations.
Thank you for your assistance.

I too require this read receipt for sending only, not receving read receipt by others.

Here it is almost the end of 2018 and you folks at Protonmail are apparently still fence straddling. I too, wish to dump GMAIL, but until Proton adds the READRECEIPT option setting, I cannot. C'mon, folks, business needs it!

This seems counter to the ethos of PM and would be blocked by default in their UI.

I really agree. I was happy to find an alternative to gmail, but this makes it unusable for business purposes

Shouldn't a read receipt ask you if you want to notify the sender? This is the behavior in Thunderbird. So, it should have the same behavior in a web client or app as well. This can be set to auto or manual - "always respond, never respond, always ask, etc." But we as senders should certainly have the ability to attach read receipts to our messages.
