1. Improve Default Address Handling for Forwarded/BCC Emails

   Currently, the "Default Address (Custom Domain)" works only when emails are sent directly to it or to linked catch-all addresses. If the domain's MX does not point to Proton (e.g., it points to a forwarding service), Proton uses the actual recipient address (usually @proton.me) instead of my Default (Custom Domain) address when replying.
   Note: In this scenario, it does not work even if the Custom Domain address is already set as the Default.

   Example: domain.com points its MX to a mailing list, which then forwards emails to my @proton.me and @gmail.com mailboxes. When a sender emails to @domain.com and the message is forwarded to my @proton.me address, I can't automatically reply using my Default Address (@domain.com). I must manually switch the From address from @proton.me to @domain.com.

   I suggest adding checks for forwarded and BCC emails (i.e., in scenarios where "Header To ≠ RCPT TO"):

   1. If "Header To ≠ RCPT TO", check whether the Header To address matches the user's Default Address.

   2. If yes, use the Default Address when replying; otherwise, follow the existing Reply logic.

   This ensures that replies consistently use the user's Default (Custom Domain) Address even for forwarded and BCC emails.

2. Show number of unread mails on top level folder

   I am filtering a lot of my incoming e-mail into (sub)folders. The number of unread mails are displayed in the folder the mail was moved into. My folders are nested (2 or 3 levels deep) into a top level folder. I mostly have a collapsed view of the top level folders. In that case I would like to see if there are unread mails in the collapsed folders.

3. Add Sender to Existing Filter

   I like to use my filters for categories of senders, not just individual filters for every sender. It would be nice if we can click the "Filter" button and choose the option to append the selected email's sender or Subject etc. to an existing filter.

   For example, I like to put all my emails related to airline points in the same folder. Having 5 filters for different airlines makes my filter list cumbersome to go through, so I combine them into one filter. If I have an existing filter that is already moving New Zealand Air emails to my Points folder, and I sign up with Qantas, then in order to add Qantas to the same filter, I currently have to manually copy the email address, open the settings, go to the filters' tab, find the filter, AND THEN finally I can click edit and paste the email address as an additional condition.

   It'd be nice to not have to do that, especially if I'm doing an inbox organization project and have to repeat that process multiple times OR I have to create several filters and then deal with a secondary project of cleaning them up later.

4. Change behavior of check all box when some emails are already selected

   When some emails are already selected, the current behavior of the check all box is to check all on the first click, and uncheck all on the second click. This is the opposite of the behavior in other email apps such as Gmail. If you already have some boxes checked, it's more likely that you've just finished whatever action you were taking and just need to deselect them all again, so the first click should uncheck all the boxes, and then a second click would check all the boxes. Or at least that's my opinion. If this ends up being controversial, it could maybe be a behavior that could be toggled in the settings.

   When some emails are already selected, the current behavior of the check all box is to check all on the first click, and uncheck all on the second click. This is the opposite of the behavior in other email apps such as Gmail. If you already have some boxes checked, it's more likely that you've just finished whatever action you were taking and just need to deselect them all again, so the first click should uncheck all the boxes, and then a second click would check all the boxes. 5. Include new unread mails from folders in the app icon badge (count)

   Add an option to include in the app icon badge (count) new unread mails that are moved directly to a folder from the inbox via a rule. Currently, these mails are only reflected in the count inside the app, not on the app icon. This should apply to both mobile and desktop app icons.

6. Mail and Calendar view both simultaneously. /ProtonMail-desktop.deb

   Find it inefficient to constantly switch between Mail and Calendar within the same window when need to view both simultaneously.
   ie. you can't have distinct, separate windows for Mail and Calendar open at once. I guess its not suited to multi monitor setup ATM.

7. Automatic time parsing for new calendar events

   When creating a new event in the calendar, any time written in the event header should automatically be put as the time for the event. The given time should then be removed from the header of the event.

   Example #1: If an event is made with the header "Hairdressers 17:15" then the starting time for the event should be automatically set to 17:15 (on 24H systems) with a standard duration time of 1 hour. The header for the event in the calendar should then be just "Hairdressers" with the given starting time.

   Example #2: Similarily, if an event is made with the event header "Meeting 12-14", then the event should automatically get the starting time of 12:00 and end at 14:00. The header for the event in the calendar should just be "Meeting".

8. Edit/delete both Current and Future events for a recurring event series

   Google Calendar has long supported the ability to choose whether modifications to an event in a recurring series will affect the current event only, or the current event and all future events.    Workflows I wish I could do but don't think I can right now (or it is difficult to do):

   • Delete an event from a recurring event, plus all future events in the recurring event. Eg, I have a recurring event, but I no longer need it going forward.
   • Edit an event in a recurring event series, and have any changes to it apply to it and all future events (but not earlier events). Eg, The meeting's name is going to change, or maybe I need to move its standard date/time to a different date/time, or change its frequency going forward, but I don't want to modify past events.

9. ICS import fails when VEVENT uses custom TZID ("Customized Time Zone")

   Description

   Importing an .ics file into Proton Calendar fails when a VEVENT references a custom timezone (e.g. "Customized Time Zone").

   This appears to happen when the TZID parameter is used directly in event fields.

   Example

   Example snippet from the ICS file:

10. Importing email from Gmail -> don't turn folders into labels

    The mass import from Gmail to Proton Mail was great....except my extensive set of folders/sub folders got turned into one massive list of labels.

    Please either make

    (1) an option where a label category can be converted to a folder; or
    (2) make it so Gmail folders are imported as folders with their nesting folders under them.

    Having to convert everything manually is excruciatingly tedious.

11. Calendar app icon to display the current {day of week} and {day of month}

    Background

    The Proton Calendar app on iOS (and presumably Android )currently appears like a blueish/purple square with a small "31" in the bottom right corner. The "31" is static and doesn't change.

    The official Apple Calendar app icon has the name of the day (e.g. "SAT") and the day of the month (e.g. "13") on the icon itself, making the app icon useful at a glance without even requiring the user to open the app.

    Proposal:

    It would be very cool and very useful if the "31" on the Proton Calendar app icon actually changed to represent the current day of the month. It would be even better if the Proton Calendar icon could be redesigned to show the same information as the Apple Calendar icon.

    Conclusion:

    As it currently stands, I need to keep the Apple Calendar icon on my iOS screen simply because it's useful, even if I intend to use the Proton Calendar app for my actual day-to-day work. This is a minor annoyance but it would be satisfying to finally be able to remove the Apple Calendar app from my iOS screen.

12. Inbox First

    A recent change to the interface has moved the Inbox folder below the Drafts, Sent, and Starred folders in the sidebar. I want to move the Inbox folder back to the first position in the list, but I don't seem to be able to click and drag it to reorder the folders. Please either undo this change to the ordering of the default folders or add functionality to let users reorder them however they like.

14. Calendar reminders with "Urgent" option

    Be able to create "urgent" reminders like the ones just introduced in the native iOS Calendar App. Very useful!:

16. Sorting by Label

    Sort by Label
    Currenty you can sort your email by subject, sender, recipient and attachment. However sorting by label really would help me out big time. I flag most of my emails by type of category and the requested actions. Sorting by outstanding actions would help me big time

17. Allow 'All Mail' to be chosen as the default folder

    The tedium of using ProtonMail because it reverts to the inbox is annoying. New messages filtered into folders are not noticeable from the inbox. Please allow 'All Mail' to be set as the user's preferred view.

18. Search field in labels for proton mail – mobile app

    When adding label(s) on a message in the Proton Mail Mobile APP (in my case iOS) it is no search field available. With many labels you have to “scroll” thru an extensive list, and would be easier if you could “drag down” in the labels-list and a search field appeared.

19. File sharing: Add option to share with public link AND EMAIL the link right away with mail app

    When sharing a file by creating a public link, it would be very handy if you could instantly send this link via email.
    So when you created the link, there should be a button that directly opens the mail app and pastes the created link into the body of a new email.
    It would also be nice if you could create an email template with a custom text (configurable in settings) that is also pasted in the mail like:

    "Hi, i would like to share a file with you. You can download it here
    <<link>>
    kind regards, Peter" as the template text - and <<link>> will be replaced with the URL when composing the email.

    When sharing a file by creating a public link, it would be very handy if you could instantly send this link via email.

20. Import contacts direct to group

    When importing new contacts to Proton, it would be very helpful to be able to import them direct into a contact group in Proton.
    Alternatively, release a separate Contacts module where contacts can be flexibly sorted and managed so, for example, a most recent import list can be identified by import date and assigned to a group.
