  1. Auto-delete unwanted messages options

Would be useful to enable auto-delete only for trash or spam separately, and being able to decide the number of days to wait (at least among a list of presets)

  2. Import PGP keys of contacts from public key servers

While we can import other people's public keys manually, it would be much less hassle to just import them from public key servers if they have a key listed in one. Just searching them for the mail address shouldn't be hard to implement, and from that point on it'd be the same as if the key was attached to the mail (asking wether the key should be trusted, then import)

  4. Auto-forwarding/Migration Free

I am hesitant to commit to Proton Mail given auto-forwarding is only accessible with a paid subscription. The only reason I could migrate from Gmail to Proton was that the auto-forwarding function at Gmail is free and accessible. If I ever decided to migrate away from Proton, I do not want to be paying a monthly fee indefinitely in order to do so.

  5. Per-address default formatting for font, text size, signature, and coloring.

Emails coming from different addresses may have different intentions and styles, and should be able to have individual defaults set for them, including font, size, color, and signatures.

  6. Mail inbox could use space more effective

The current mail UI is using a lot of space, but not very efficient. As a lot of my mail contacts don’t use avatars, switching this feature off should also disable avatars with a character and a color.
Using a label uses 1 line, instead of adding it to the “from” line. Attachments also use one line. A mail with a sender, subject, (first line of mail), label and attachments takes 4 (or 5) lines!!
A compact view would be great

  7. ## Feature Request: Native System Tray Support on Linux (Wayland)

    Problem

On Linux with KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland, clicking the ✕ close button fully quits Proton Mail. There is no option to minimize it to the system tray and keep it running in the background, which means missed notifications and having to reopen the app every time.

    Requested behavior

When the user clicks the close button, the app should minimize to the system tray instead of quitting. A tray icon should appear with:
    - Single click: show/hide the window
    - Right-click menu: "Show / Hide" and "Quit"

This is standard behavior in desktop mail clients like Thunderbird, and is…

  8. Hide less relevant calendars from the sidebar

Over time, some calendars stop being useful or relevant. It would good to be able to archive a calendar without removing it. You just do not make all calendars visible on the sidebar rather than have a list of checked-out calendars which provide no further help to you.

  9. Provide a Way to Disable HTML in Emails

Html is very present in emails from CRM software but is rarely ever present in emails sent from friends and relatives. It is unnecessary, wastes space, and presents some vulnerabilities and tracking potential. Scammers can use html to obfuscate urls for phishing attacks, and companies can use images to track opens. Can Proton add a way to either strip html from emails before it reaches my inbox, or disable the rendering of the html once it is in my inbox, or both? Or at least disable the rendering of links specifically, so that they can no longer be obfuscated? Outlook…

  10. Allow moving sent email to inbox

The same as Gmail allows, I want to be able move a sent email to my inbox after sending. This is a highly common activity if you want to check in a few days that someone has responded to your email and not forget about it. It's not possible currently without the suggested features. There is currently a 'mark as unread' feature, but that doesn't put the email in your inbox, so you'll never check it again.

  11. Allow any email alias to be used when SMTP Submission is authenticated.

    Problem Statement
The current SMTP submission authentication system in Proton Mail & Calendar requires users to authenticate with the exact email address they're sending from. This creates unnecessary complexity and limitations for power users and developers who need flexibility in email handling.

    Current Limitations
Single authentication constraint: Users must authenticate with the same email address they're sending from
Token management overhead: Requires creating separate aliases and tokens for each service that needs to use different email aliases
Multi-user environment issues: Particularly problematic in systems like Ubuntu where different user accounts (root vs. logged-in user) have different usernames
    Developer workflow disruption:…

  12. Filters to apply to existing messages when a flag changes

Add flag changes as a trigger for filters. For example when an email is marked as read, check if a filter is applicable and then process it. Other triggers could be applying a star or manually applying a label.

If the server load would be heavy, it could be set up as an up to 24-hours until the filter will apply to spread the load.

My pipe dream for my Proton (and work) mailbox is for all mail to land in my inbox and be filed away automatically into a folder after i read it

  13. Please add all functionality in the main mail app to mobile (snooze, etc)

The descrepancy in functionality berween PM instances has become problematic for anyone who rotates through thwm daily due to workflow. As a side note, being able to access my paid account on the windows app but not my free account is ridiculous.

  15. Drag Labels to Messages

I’d love to see a more fluid drag-and-drop workflow for labels in Proton Mail.

In list view, drag a label from the left sidebar onto a message to apply that label. If multiple messages are selected, dropping the label onto one of the selected messages would apply it to all selected messages. When viewing an individual email, dragging a label onto the open message would apply it there as well.

This would make organizing mail much faster and more intuitive, especially for users who manage workflows heavily with labels. It also feels like a very natural desktop-style interaction that many…

  16. Change calendar email

Proton Calendars can linked to either the default Proton email address or to one alias, but this setting cannot be changed afterwards.
Please allow the editing of the linked email address when editing the calendar settings.

  17. Notications from shared calendars

When sharing a calendar, for example in a family, it would be nice to know if other members of the shared calendar adds, deletes or make changes to the calendar. It could be a change of time, title or date of an existing appointment. Or if a member adds an new appointment.
Would it be possible to add this feature to the calendar?

  18. Choose which alias can log in to Proton

Hello Outlook.com now is accepting to choose what alias can be used to login on account to improve security.

Why Proton mail dont do the same thing? with this we are protected from botnets(credential stuffing or brute force), because we can create a alias and dont share the username with anyone.

    Thanks

  19. Allow labels to be marked as current or archived

Basically, I have a lot of labels from an old project that aren't applicable anymore. I'd like to mark them as 'archived' so I can still search on them, but they won't be an option to apply to new items anymore. With too many old labels the list is very long. By archiving some this list well be much easier to scroll through.
