  1. Email List Archive

Users select authorized email subscription lists and assign a retention policy to them (quantity or age). Only messages that meet the requirements, for that email list identification (sender, directly addressed, subject, size, and combination thereof), are maintained in the mailbox and the rest are automatically deleted. This helps reduce clutter and consumption. ideally it is run on the server side on receipt but it could be a client side rule or even folders with rules or a combination of the client side rule and a folder retention policy..

  2. Create a mail client for Proton and other emails

I have a few email addresses in use for different purposes and contexts, some of them are more than a decade old, and I don’t think I can close them up completely.
For example, I have an email on a server of an NGO I am working for, alongside my personal gmail used for Google services and an old personal yahoo, and a couple addresses associated with some apps that I’ve authored.
I’d like to use some of them alongside Proton email addresses. Since I can’t add proton to Mail.app, I need another mail client where I can have my…

  3. Always On "Unread" Filter

    Hello,

I have rules set up to move incoming emails to different folders.

The ‘unread’ filter on iOS used to stay active in your version 6 (I think).
I’d switch from the inbox to other folders and the ‘unread’ emails would still be there.

Since version 7, I have to manually reactivate the filter every time I switch between folders or return to the inbox.
The user experience is rather poor.

Would it be possible to restore the ‘unread’ filter so that it remains active when switching between folders?

Thank you in advance for considering this.

  4. Useless for a desktop user - Can't be used offline

What a letdown when you discover that your desktop app is nothing more than a copy of your website. That you can't make it so that you can check your existing emails and calendar offline is so bad that I can't find words. Then you really should have clear information that your app is only a copy of your website and cannot be used offline.

  5. Using a different signature for desktop and mobile

When sending emails from a phone, typos happen and brevity becomes a way of avoiding stress. From Thunderbird, I use these two limitations to give a dash of friendliness to my short emails, and add a line that say something like "This email was sent from a mobile device, sorry for brevity and tpyoes", with that final typo made on purpose.

But I can't do this because the signature is shared between desktop app and mobile phone.

I understand that this feature would take 2 months of programming, but hey, if enough people have the same idea maybe we can…

  6. Autocomplete from contacts in mail search

When searching my inbox, it would be very useful for the search field to autocomplete from my address book (names and email addresses). One of the most frequent things I search for is a person's name or email address. Autocomplete suggestions from my contact list (and maybe also recent emails) would be extremely useful.

See Gmail UI for an example of how this could work.

  8. booking slots from Appointment Scheduling don't appear in my calendar view

Currently, available booking slots from Appointment Scheduling don't appear
as visible blocks in my calendar view. I can only see confirmed bookings.

    Feature request:
Show available booking slots as light-colored blocks vs. darker colors for
confirmed bookings. This provides instant visual clarity on my availability.

    Why this matters:
    - Quick overview of potential booking windows
    - Better calendar planning without manual workarounds

    - Prevents confusion between "open" and "booked" time

Workaround exists (separate calendars) but all events show as "busy"
since Proton Calendar lacks Free/Busy status per event.

    Vote appreciated!

  9. Save emails and attachments directly to Proton Drive

Currently, there is no native feature to save an email and its attachments directly to a Proton Drive folder. Users must manually download attachments and export the email as an .eml file, then upload everything to Proton Drive — a multi-step process that is tedious and inefficient.

    Proposed feature:

Add a "Save to Proton Drive" option within Proton Mail that would allow users to:

Save an email (as .eml or .pdf) along with its attachments to a chosen Proton Drive folder in a single action
Select the destination folder within Proton Drive
Optionally rename the saved email file
    Preserve original…

  10. Enhance booking pages with the ability to add a meeting note

Booking pages are great, but all the person requesting a meeting can do is enter their name and email address. It would be nice to give them a "note" field so they could indicate what the meeting is about.

  11. Make arrows part of top navigation in desktop to cycle through emails + make arrows on keyboard match

If I open Proton and have 4 emails to read through, I would like to be able to open the first one and either use an up arrow key to navigate to the next unread email, or I would like an arrow as part of the top navigation bar to allow me to cycle through to the next unread email. Having to click each one is cumbersome on the desktop. You are able to physically swipe between emails on the app which works for the phone but would be clunky/unnecessary on the desktop.

  12. move-copy folders from one account to another within same business account

Today, if I want to move all emails from one account to another, the only method I found was via Bridge-Thunderbird: downloading, locally copying, and uploading, which is crazy time-consuming and, unfortunately, not safe (the final count showed that lots of emails were not copied).
Instead of downloading and uploading, it would be great if the group admin had the ability to move folders between accounts.

  13. Seamless Custom Domain Integration Between Proton Mail, Proton Pass, and SimpleLogin

    Hello Proton Team,

I would like to suggest an improvement regarding the integration between Proton Mail, Proton Pass, and SimpleLogin.

Currently, if a custom domain is configured in Proton Mail, it cannot also be used for aliases in SimpleLogin. This creates an unnecessary limitation within what is presented as a unified Proton ecosystem.

As a customer using multiple Proton services, I expected my verified custom domain to be available across all Proton products without requiring separate configurations or forcing me to choose between receiving email through Proton Mail or creating aliases through SimpleLogin.

    Suggested Improvement

    Once a domain has been…

  14. Sub-accounts to not show emails sent to any other account

When I log in using a sub-account name all of the emails from the default parent account are shown. Can logging in using a sub-account show only emails sent to that sub-account email address please. This is requested for security reasons, wanting only a sub-account to be used on my mobile so if someone accesses the device they can't view emails sent to any of the other parent/default or sub-account email addresses. Ideally sub-accounts would have their own passwords, too.

  15. Instant push notifications on desktop

As a Proton Mail macOS user, when I'm waiting for an email, it's really annoying that I will get a push notification immediately on my phone, the have to hit refresh in the desktop client several times before the email shows up in the desktop client.

Perhaps https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail-calendar/suggestions/50545794-implement-push-imap-instant-email-notification is the right solution, but I don't really care how it works--I just want to receive notifications as fast on desktop as on my phone.

  16. US Holidays

The US Holidays calendar is incomplete. Here are the annual holidays that are missing:

    Valentine's Day (February 14)
President's Day (Federal - 3rd Monday of February)
    St. Patrick's Day (March 17)
Easter (First Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox)
Mother's Day (Second Sunday in May)
    Flag Day (June 14)
Father's Day (Third Sunday in June)
Indigenous Peoples' Day (Second Monday in October)
    Halloween (October 31)
Election Day (Tuesday after the first Monday in November)

Most US calendars also offer the dates that Daylight Saving Time starts (second Sunday in March) and ends (first Sunday in November).

  17. Give users a setting to disable the confirmation popup after drag-and-drop moves.

When I move an event graphically in Proton Calendar by dragging it to another time or day, the event window opens every time and I have to confirm the change manually.

This can become annoying when reorganizing several events, because dragging an event already feels like a clear user action.

It would be useful to have an option in the Calendar settings to choose whether the event window should open after moving an event by drag and drop.

    For example:

“Open event details after dragging an event: On / Off”

This would let users who want confirmation keep the current…

  18. Folder depth limit and unread email indicator

    Hello Proton Team,
First of all, as a French user, please excuse my English which might leave a little to be desired... ;)
Thank you for your excellent work. As a daily user of your services, I would like to share two feature suggestions regarding the Proton Mail interface that I believe would greatly improve the overall user experience:

Increase the subfolder limit: Being a true neat freak when it comes to organization, I find the current 3-level hierarchy limit a bit restrictive. It would be incredibly useful to be able to create more nesting levels for hyper-precise categorization (this…
