Allow download only option for PDFs
When it was requested, you did not give us the opportunity to preview PDFs, you FORCED us to preview them. I do not and never want to preview PDFs, as I ONLY use my pdf software to view PDFs. Now, you MUST preview it before you download it. I have had nothing but problems by closing protonmail entirely due to your poor interface with the PDF previewer closer when I try to close the PDF, I keep hitting the "close preview window" button, but it's also the "close PM" button. Send encrypted email without password (user clicks a link to respond)
Why can you only send a Password-protected Emails? It should be optional for receiver to just click a link. That way its easier for them, and the secure message can still expire..

Customize favorite labels in reading action menu
In the web application when reading an email there is an action menu for the email on the screen: "mark as read/unread, move to folder, move to trash, label, filter, etc.".
I would like to be able to choose some favorite labels and have them show up on this menu bar so I don't have to hunt for them in the label menu. Likewise you could use a simple algorithm to show the commonly used labels here as well. I have a lot of labels but tend to apply some frequently and don't have easy logic to be able to…

Use vector graphics in official Proton emails (rather than rasterized)
At the bottom of almost every email is a list of all the graphic assets used in the body, of which need to be authorised for viewing before display (unless on a white list).
Why not scrap all of that in your own advertisement emails by using vector based graphics, of which almost all of the assets are anyway.

Add filter action to download attachments
Please add a Filter action that automatically downloads any attachments to the filtered email. I receive PDF invoices by email, which need to be archived for accounting purposes. I use DropBox to store such emails, but ideally, the user can select any cloud-based destination folder. Downloading these attachments is time-consuming and repetitive, and I would like to automate it. Many thanks.

Don't show number of Snoozed emails
Displaying a count on the Snooze folder is contradictory to the purpose of a Snooze folder.
1) The purpose of snoozing an email is so that it clears (currently) unnecessary clutter from the interface and from the mind. The count however is constantly reminding use of stuff we want to (temporarily) forget.
2) The purpose of a count is to make sure we don't overlook a mail. This is achieved with a snoozed email by it reappearing in the inbox - there's no need for a second mechanism.

That line of text is distracting and could easily be replaced by a button which would be neater.

Allow permanent light or dark mode view for Proton Mail iOS
I would like a feature to permantly view an email from a sender in either light or dark mode and not depend on the app theme.
I noticed that you can view the message permanently in light mode by setting the app theme to light mode, but I would rather there be an option for see emails from a certain sender in either light or dark mode even if the app theme is set to dark or light mode.

Smartwatch interface with Mail
With the market being flooded with smart watches. Now would be a good time to be able to have the email and calendar, at a minimum, able to interface with android and ios watches. Our watches are more convenient to look at on many occasions.

Inboxes per sender
Make the password protected mails better. Give the users a conversation view (an inbox-like site) with all the mails they've gotten from me.
Also, it happens too fast that the next mail you're responding with, you forget to set a password again. Please keep the same password on by default. Basically, just make the whole password protected mail feature like Tutas, I was really impressed when I tested it :)2 votes -
Plus addressing
As https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_address#Sub-addressing explains, permit +-symbol delimiter for a custom part of the address usable for differentiation of the origin without sending the mail to a different address. Outlook and Gmail support this.

Make it easier to select email without opening it by mistake
when checking an email to delete, too often it opens it and wastes time.

Improved Folder Options
I have two ideas that I think would be great:
1) The folder automatically sees all the senders added to the folder and a new option (toggle) allows you to automatically add all of them to a rule that automatically sorts the senders into this folder (a check box could allow all current emails to be sorted in as well as all future emails) - this is automatically updated when a new sender is added to the folder. Hide FW and RE in subject line
As in Gmail, I don't want to see the "FW:" and "RE:" prepended in my emails' subject lines. It would be great to have an option whereby I can choose to hide these.

Simplify thread view
please simplify the view of the emails in a thread view or whatever where more emails can be seen at once. as it stands now, it is a bit hard to navigate in emails one has sent. one can make a branch view where when an email is no longer sent to the same people, it branches off. you could call it branch view. it would be the next big thing and would suit ar glasses too.

Option for product switcher to open local install
Currently in Proton Mail, there is a button which provides access to other proton tools. These tools are in fact shortcuts to the Proton website related to each tool.
The idea should be to evaluate if each tool has been installed localy and call these tools instead of going the the websites.2 votes -
