I understand that Proton is about encryption, but not everyone using Proton is totally bothered about encryption but are using it because they like the Proton service and other product offerings. I am one of those people.
I personally would move everything over to Proton if it wasn't for the search being limited due to E2E encryption. Yes, I understand there are workarounds to get search working in some instances, but not being able to search message content on mobile devices, or having to store content locally is a pain for some people.
The search limitation is the main reason why I am still undecided between Fastmail and Proton. I prefer the product offerings from Proton such as Proton Pass and Mail, I prefer their mail client, I just also prefer the usability of being able to search my messages fully and easily.

Yes! And for the calendar (Android app) as well! It's critical for me to search my events while on mobile.

Yes, this is critical for me and one feature that is missing from the iOS app.

Yes I believe this to be a core critical function for the adoption of ProtonMail to the masses. There are a lot of people who mainly use their mobile/ iPhone for email. When you need to quickly find that one email, but can’t remember the sender, but can remember the topics discussed or other keywords related to that message. This comes in super handy. It is very cumbersome to use on iOS safari and does not always work 100% of the time.
If you can securely bring this to ProtonMail iOS and android app there is nothing else stopping me from finally recommending ProtonMail to all my friends and family.
From their it will spread like wildfire as more and more people look to privacy focused services in a world where more and more user data, Personally identifiable information (PII), and data breaches/hacks are becoming more sophisticated and growing exponentially.

Occasionally I need to find an email and have to use the Safari web experience for that. It works well on the computer or my iPad but the web experience on the phone is suboptimal due to canvas size.

I’d like to suggest an option to search for the text of an email within the IOS app please. It would be very convenient.
However, I’d only suggest and support this if it can be done without compromising privacy and security please.

Given the large amount of email we all receive, this is a key feature. For me, it isn't such a big deal to log into the web client and search there, but some people (like my wife) really do the vast majority of their communication on their phones. This would definitely be a much appreciated feature for my wife and I! All the best

Please add! This would greatly enhance the usability! I know the background why this isn't easy, but you found a way to do it on the web client, I think you can take a similar approach for the mobile clients!

When you do get around to improving the search functionality in the iOS app (and others) I'd like to see functionality like what is available in an email client called TheBat.
Multiple operators/boolean and multi-line search criteria, all saveable. The ability to search all historical email in ALL parts of the email.
This is really very basic functionality, without it how are we suppose to find email from years past. Especially need to search body of email. -

We need the ability to search our emails on content using an iOS iPhone app, if not it's a real non starter.
