1. Appointment scheduling - richer features

   The new appointment scheduling is a great addition to the Proton Suite! However I agree with some other suggestions here that there are a few features lacking at the time of launch.

   Here are a some things I find missing that would be great additions, that I haven't already found suggestions for:

   • Larger selection of appointment duration (e.g 15 min, 20 min, 40 min, etc), or custom input

   • More choices on "How far in advance can someone book?", or custom input

   • Ability to customise the content of the confirmation email would be great

   • Have the subject of the confirmation email be the name of the appointment they booked:
     Let's say my booking page is called "Consultation", the subject of the confirmation email should be "Invitation for Consultation starting on [date] at [time]" instead of "an event"

2. Feature Request: Auto-Delete Imported Gmail Emails to Save Proton Storage

   Hello Proton Team,

   I really like the idea of integrating Proton Mail with my Gmail account. It makes it much easier to centralize and manage emails while benefiting from Proton's privacy features.

   However, I would love to see an option for automatic deletion of emails that are imported or synchronized into Proton Mail from Gmail after a configurable period of time. Currently, these messages continue to occupy storage space in my Proton account, which means I need to regularly log in and manually manage them to free up space.

   Having a feature that automatically deletes synchronized Gmail messages (for example, after 7, 30, or 90 days) would make the integration much more practical, especially for users with limited storage plans. It would reduce maintenance efforts while still allowing users to benefit from the integration.

3. Snooze Sent Mail

   In Gmail, you can snooze any messages, including those that are sent. It would be great to have this feature in Proton Mail. I use it to ensure I follow up on emails I have sent and have not received a response by a certain time.

5. No default address or variable default address

   Currently, we are required to have a default email address. I have multiple email addresses in my account and use them for different purposes. But, when I open an email it automatically puts the default email address. If that is not the address I want to use, I have to change it. The problem is that it is easy to forget to change it and then I end up sending the email from the wrong address. I propose 2 solutions.

   1. Allow the user to have no default email. This would require the user to always pick an address when composing an email and avoid accidentally using the default address.
   2. I have my email segregated into different folders. So, all the emails coming or going from a particular address are in a single folder. When I am in that folder and I hit reply, it goes from the email address already used in that email. But, when I click on compose a new email, my brain expects it to know that I am in a particular alias email, but it just uses the default. Allow a way to set different default addresses for different folders.

6. Calender events prior to 1970

   It is currently only possible to enter calendar events prior to or going back no further than 1970. This makes it difficult to enter birthdates when you wish to track the actual age of the person as well as historical events.

   Implement option to enter dates prior to 1970 in Proton Calendar.

7. Mail Linux App (.deb/.rpm) thru apt/dnf just as VPN or flatpak, for auto-updates

   Mail and Pass desktop clients for Linux already exist in .deb & .rpm. Could you please add this to the repo you already have for the VPN client (https://repo.protonvpn.com/) or make an official Flatpak release so that the update process can happen automatically?
   This would be a nice improvement and reduce the friction with us Linux users

9. Tasks in Proton Calendar

   The Idea

   I would love to see Proton Calendar evolve into a unified productivity hub by integrating a native task and project management layer — think the best of Microsoft To Do and Microsoft Planner, but built with the privacy-first DNA that makes Proton what it is.

   What I Am Proposing

   A task management module embedded directly inside Proton Calendar that allows users to:

   Create and assign tasks with due dates, priorities, and labels — visible alongside calendar events in a single, unified view.

   Organise tasks into project boards — simple Kanban-style columns (To Do / In Progress / Done) for teams or personal workflows.

   Track deadlines and milestones without leaving the calendar environment — no more context-switching between three different tools.

   Set recurring tasks and receive reminders that align with existing calendar notifications.

   Share task boards with collaborators within the Proton ecosystem, with granular permission controls.

   Why This Matters

   Right now, managing deadlines across tools is fragmented. Calendar events live in one place, tasks in another, and project milestones in yet another. For professionals managing complex, deadline-driven workflows — such as regulatory compliance cycles, multi-party projects, or recurring reporting obligations — this fragmentation creates real risk: missed deadlines, duplicated effort, and unnecessary context-switching.

   Proton already owns the calendar real estate. Tasks are the natural next layer. The combination would make Proton Calendar a serious, privacy-respecting alternative to the Microsoft 365 productivity stack — without surrendering data to advertising-driven ecosystems.

   Proton has already proven that privacy and productivity are not mutually exclusive. Adding a robust task layer to Proton Calendar would be the next logical step in making the full switch away from Big Tech ecosystems a realistic option for professionals and organisations that care about where their data lives.

   Would love to hear whether others in the community share this need — and whether the Proton team has any plans in this direction.

10. Push notification and read status auto sync across iOS, iPadOS and MacOS

    Automatically synchronise email read status and push notifications between devices. If I read an email on my iPad, the badge and push notification for Proton Mail app should be automatically cleared on my other devices (Mac, iPhone and iPad). I shouldn’t have to manually clear the notifications and badges on each individual device. This is similar for the existing requests for “sync Android notifications properly” but I wanted to create a separate request specifically for Apple devices. Thank you.

11. pop out draft message as a separate window

    In the desktop ProtonMail app for Mac, which includes mail and calendar as different tabs/views, I really need the ability to pop out a draft message as a separate window while I am composing it. I often receive messages asking me to list my availability for a meeting. In Outlook, I am able to pop out the message so I can look at my calendar while drafting the message. In the ProtonMail desktop app, the draft is stuck in the mail view, so I need to remember or write down information somewhere else after looking my calendar.

12. Custom Categories in New Inbox Organizing

    I really like the new categories in how it sorts the inbox and how you can change where messages wind up. Now I really want to be able to create my own categories, which is how I have used the folders feature in the past. Being able to make my own categories would be AMAZING. Please add this ASAP.

13. Improve differentiation between unread and read mails

    After the major UI refactoring of the Android mail app some weeks ago, we're struggling with some of the changes. Let me explain one problem:

    • Differentiate between read and unread mails

    It is very difficult to simply "see" which mails are new and which ones are already read. The only difference seems to be, that new mails are listed using bold font where already read emails are using the normal font. It doesn't matter which theme is used, you need to have a deeper look to recognize "oh, I've already read this mail".

    Please improve the inbox layout in such a way that it is clear with a blink of an eye, which mails are "new" (unread) and which ones are "old" (already read).

14. Preview attachment in app without downloading (Proton Mail Android)

    It is not possible to preview attachments in the Proton Mail Android app without them being downloaded to the "Downloads" folder of the device, which unneccessarily clutters the folder with content you only meant to view and maybe then decide to download.

    The Proton Drive app does let you preview files without them ending up on the visible device storage, so this should be possible.

    Google Calendar has long supported the ability to choose whether modifications to an event in a recurring series will affect the current event only, or the current event and all future events.     Workflows I wish I could do but don't think I can right now (or it is difficult to do):

    • Delete an event from a recurring event, plus all future events in the recurring event. Eg, I have a recurring event, but I no longer need it going forward.
    • Edit an event in a recurring event series, and have any changes to it apply to it and all future events (but not earlier events). Eg, The meeting's name is going to change, or maybe I need to move its standard date/time to a different date/time, or change its frequency going forward, but I don't want to modify past events.

16. Resize attached images

    We can currently change the display size of inline images but the file size remains the same. We don't always need send the highest resolution - in gmail you can choose small/medium/large/original and the resolution and file size are adjusted accordingly. Presumably this would be an advantage to proton also, as it would save on disc space.

17. Avoid exposing core email addresses

    So here's something about the behaviour of Proton Mail I find puzzling and concerning. When I received a mail sent to one of my aliases from an unwanted source in the desktop app for Mac, I clicked on the option to disable the alias. I was then presented with a dialog box USING ONE OF MY CORE NON-ALIAS EMAIL ADDRESSES to send an email to unsubscribe from the sender's email list. This seems to be the worst response for my my privacy - why on earth would I want to send an email from one of my core email addresses and thereby expose it, when all I wanted to do was disable an alias????
    Surely a much better response would be to send the unsubscribe request using the alias address? Or NOT to email an unsubscribe request at all, but rather, to go to Proton Pass and simply disable the email alias there.

18. Disable mobile app notifications for spam e-mail (Android)

    Please consider adding the option to disable mobile notifications for e-mails that are considered spam. Currently those e-mails (those added to the Spam folder), have notifications on the Android app, along with the non-spam e-mails.

19. Remove Email Address from Bookingpage

    Hi, I tested the new booking page functionality in Proton Calendar today. I saw that my default email address is displayed on the booking page. It is publicly visible to everyone. Why is this? I do not want to disclose my email address by default. Can this be turned off?
