Import/Export Spam, block and allow lists
We have the ability to add emails or domains to lists to either send them to Junk, block them entirely, or allow them always to get to the inbox, but right now this can only be done one at a time. The same goes for the organization filters.
Please give us the ability to export these, so we can share with other users, copy to another account, etc, and to import these - so we can use lists from our old email providers or publicly available lists.
I would expect this would be handled as a CSV, but would love…

Allow sieve to access body content by running client side
Sieve is great, but the proton mail implementation is severely limited by the inability to search message content, such as body. This is of course by design, sieve is running on the encrypted emails, so it cannot read the body content, however, it would be nice to do this sometimes. In a similar vein to the local side body search implemented by proton, I propose a client side sieve implementation, that can run in desktop proton to do filtering on unencrypted message content.

Lumo
I'm not sure why it's not available yet, but a lightweight LUMO integration that assists with email writing would be very useful.
It could correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation, translate text, or even compose complete emails from short prompts — while asking for confirmation before sending.5 votes -
CRM
Hi Proton team, I believe a Proton CRM app directly integrated with Proton Mail would be a game-changer for the Business Plan. Many companies like ours need a secure way to manage clients, track communications, and organize workflows without relying on external tools that compromise data privacy. A Proton-native CRM thats built with the same end-to-end encryption and user experience as the rest of your suite. It would position Proton as a complete, privacy-first workspace for professional users. It’s the missing link that could make Proton the top choice for secure business operations worldwide.

Less resource-heavy Proton Mail App for Mac OS
The Mac OS Proton Mail app is sometimes extremely resource heavy, specially when replying to long email chains with lots of previous attachments. I have a screen grab of Proton mail using up more resources CPU and memory wise than Adobe Media encoder working on NotchLC video files. Waiting several seconds to see your words you've typed appear onscreen is not usable. I keep having to use chrome instead on these types of mails.

Require entering the password for hardware security key for Proton Mail or Authenticator
When login using hardware key, Proton Mail only asks for it to be inserted and then touch the key. Yahoo mail requires the password for the key to be entered before touching the key. That way, if someone gets the hardware key, they can't use it to login to your account without knowing the key password

Email organiser module using AI
I'm an IT engineer working on DEVOPS and AI applications.
I would like to have an AI assistant that is able to:
- analyze my mail box history (full, partial by time range), one shot or recurring
- propose a folder tree structure and have an interface where the user can accept/modify/reject the changes
- propose a list of tags and have an interface where the user can accept/modify/reject the changes
- propose a list of filters and have an interface where the user can accept/modify/reject the changes
- propose a new email organization and have an interface where the…5 votes -
Support email redirect
Right now the "Forward email" rules are severely limited, as they are not full-fledged redirects.
This means that forwards still end up in the main Inbox (so you have to have an extra filter rule to trash them, and these rules do not work at all on BCC recipient addresses.).
Please add the option to treat forwards as full redirects.

Exclude Archive toggle in Search
User Story
Contextualised User Story: As a user who has made extensive use of folders and labels via filters, I generally use "All mail" for search, however this pulls even archived mail. If I've relegated mail to archive I'd like to be able to easily exclude these from an All mail search, unless I'm specifically wanting to search archive.
Simple Form: As a user I would like the option to simply exclude archive in an "All mail" or other search. With configuration preference to have this checked on or off by default and toggleable in the search interface.

Edit email in HTML and CSS for power users
It would be nice to have the option to do custom HTML/CSS when sending an email. Most other email clients don't have this feature or have their limits on a feature like this, and so there is A LOT of potential for Proton to easily compete in this category.
Proton currently has an option to switch over to plain text, but that seems more like a notepad/wordpad thing than a place for power users who would like to custom-write HTML for their emails. In fact, the plain text feature that currently exists feels like what I'd expect back in the…

Add an option to remove pastel colors of the sender, add lines between emails
It would be nice to be able to have a setting to have the sender “cards” be compact and colorless like they used to be. As well as adding a setting to be able to have separator lines between emails so you can discern between different emails easier, it would help visually.

Emails sent: Add SimpleLogin alias address in the "from" field or in the email "header info"
When an email is sent using a reverse alias created in SampleLogin, the information shown in the "From" field or in the email "Header info" refers to the inbox. It would be useful to also include the alias address information to which corresponds the reverse alias.

See via which inbox a mail was received when it was forwarded by an alias
Consider the following:
In Proton Mail I have two mail addresses -- 'firstname.lastname@proton.me' & 'online.shopping@proton.me'
In Proton Pass I am using a hide-my-email alias 'shop.alias123@passmail.net' which forwards mails to the latter inbox.
Currently, in Proton Mail the mail header looks like this:
From 'noreply@shop.com'
To 'shop.alias123@passmail.net'Suggested change:
From 'noreply@shop.com'
Via 'shop.alias123@passmail.net'
To 'online.shopping@proton.me'5 votes -

Hide email subject in the android app notification
Even with Extended Notifications setting turned off and the app locked the subject of the email is still visible, which completely defeats the purpose of the the app lock. Many services include OTPs or other sensitive information in the subject line of the email which is visible in the notification.
While this can be addressed in the system settings, this is not a solution as those can be changed without unlocking the app.
I propose a setting next to extended notifications that will allow to have the notification show "1 new email" without any information.

Make event color customization available to free accounts
If we want more people to move to Proton, a calendar without the ability to color code events inevitably will turn people away from even giving it a real try and eventually moving fully to a paid account. If Proton insists on paywalling such an integral feature, at least give free users a handful of color options; then if you want to paywall the color picker, at least you’re not turning away potential users with calendars that appear to lack even something as basic as color customization.
