1. Add regex support to split tuneling

   When an app gets updated, the executable path may change. This breaks the split tuneling setup, which has to be remade through the ui.
   The suggestion is to allow user to add executable paths with regexes.

2. Register-free access to VPN (critical for countries like Iran)

   In countries like Iran it is very complicated to use proton vpn for very strange reason : it needs registration, and because proton VPN is blocked you CAN'T register. It is very critical thing for countries that block vpn very hard. Recently proton VPN released Stealth protocol. I think it's good idea to let users connect before registering, allow 50-100MB traffic, it is enough to register.

   Once again, for people in countries with strong censorship it will be life saving. Please do it, Stealth is the only protocol that works in Iran.

3. split tunneling for domain name

   Current split tunneling allows IP address and application. The IP address is an unreliable way to open a bypass to an external website.

   Please add the ability to split tunnel to a domain name. This would help with various sites that block VPN Server IP addresses.

4. Enabling ProtonVPN in Android through sendbroadcast() action

   Different networks have different requirements. This is why give to the user the possibility to automate connections would be a win for ProtonVPN application (android). For example at work my wifi does only allow VPN over UDP, so I have to create a special profile. I would love to automate this using https://server47.de/automation/ for example (or whatever), it works very well with wireguard ( i.e. https://android.stackexchange.com/a/250566/398905 ).

   Despite the overall exceptional user experience, I find myself in need of a feature that currently seems to be absent in the mobile version of ProtonVPN. I am particularly interested in an "App Exclusion" or "Split Tunneling" feature that allows users to exclude certain mobile apps from routing their data through the VPN.

   The need for this feature arises from the fact that certain apps, such as my banking applications and some location-dependent services, do not function optimally when connected via VPN. 7. Revert changes

   VPN accelerator, LAN connections, split tunneling, and Moderate NAT, most important being able to select a country (US, Japan or Netherlands) now you have zero choice and get put in a country with no data privacy laws for example.

   The marketing people really hit Proton hard over the last few years you see more and more features being eroded away from free users. I thought the paid users supported the free users in their business model? was that not the ethos of Proton VPN years ago? Everyone has the right to privacy?

   The blatant limitations being imposed makes you wonder where this is going in the future, similiar path of Tunnelbear vpn when they sold themselves out

   If someone have time, please contact them to ask to revert changes. If there will many requests, they should make some consensual changes

8. Choose DNS through the ATV App

   I'd love to switch from NordVPN to Proton but at the moment I have no possibility to set a custom DNS within the Proton Android TV app. The only way is to use OpenVPN which is really uncomfortable. Please, add the possibility to use custom DNS on android and you'll earn another user. Thanks

9. Add the option to disable the connected taskbar icon overlay

   I have a very minimal taskbar with custom icons for everything, and this doesn't fit the theme. I'm sure there's others that have a similar problem and would like to be able to turn off the icon overlay for when connected. I think the option to have only a disconnected overlay or both would be useful too. I'm always using the vpn so the normal state is the one alerting me with an icon and the abnormal one isn't.

    Port Forwarding is available on Windows but there's no ETA about its availability in Mac (OSX).

    MacOS is behind not only in Port Forwarding but also Split Tunneling and that's a lot. Need to priority feature parity.

11. More comprehensive blocking abilities

    Blocking of ads and trackers is an important part of maintaining user privacy and the ability to browse the internet without being constantly surveilled or provided with skewed content based on the decisions of algorithms.

    NetShield is cool, but it would be great to have a more comprehensive blocking capability in Proton VPN similar to the likes of AdGuard. Currently, it is clunky to use AdGuardd or DuckDuckGo tracking protection together with VPN because most platforms allow only one VPN connection at a time and a "fake" VPN is necessary for the blocking services to work.

    Important features for this are:
    -Ability to either activate some blocklists from a wider Proton-curated collection or to subscribe to custom blocklists and have the app regularly check for their updates.
    - Ability to add custom block/allow rules.
    - Ability to filter all DNS requests.
    - Potentially ability to customize rules per app on platforms that allow this (Android only afaik).
    - Ability to inspect HTTPS traffic by inserting itself into it with its own certificate. This is important for blocking DNS requests made by apps via HTTPS.
    - Possibly a companion extension in desktop browsers to complement blocking with esthetical adjustments (removal of empty spaces left after ads) and adding blocking rules straight from the page.
    - Log of requests. This is important for user troubleshooting in case important DNS requests get blocked.

13. Remove uncaught spying vector for slimy Google

    First, how many starting users know all the settings and that they might be "effectively" thinking they're private on the VPN, while really not necessarily being protected fully from Google spying.

    This is not a knock on Proton's excellent tunnel privacy, but a sort of front and back door that may be open, like it turned out to be on my iphone ProtonVPN install.

    The biggest spyware operation that's ever existed called "Google," has a DNS operation to spy further on users activities which can happen prior to entering the VPN tunnel... IF ... you have "Allow Alternative Routing" to be turned on (which is the "tyrannical" default setting).

    With browser fingerprinting and Google spy scripts on I'd estimate 97% of all websites in the world, it can easily know you are
    a) diving into the finite number of Proton servers and
    b) know it's you by virtue of the million points of data in a file they have on you and use it and fingerprinting to know it's you on the other end.

    Privacy's number one enemy is the scumbag Google, manipulating world elections with its data and allowing for potential blackmail of anyone who opposes it, whether by its own doing or a government that has access to its servers (with/without consent).

    Solution:
    A) Turn off Alternative Routing by default;
    B) Make it a tranparent choice as to which service(s) can be picked for alternative DNS;
    C) disqualify Google from being one of those services!

    Google has so many conned into thinking it's a friend with its manipulating algorithms, easy/lazy tools for webmasters, and cheap phones, chromebooks, tablets to "own" the user like a good spyware rootkit, but one that also puts users to sleep.

    And lastly, Alphabet is already being said that for its A.I. it now wants every literal bit that flows on the entire internet to be in its servers. Sick.

14. Add a toggle to your auto renew feature

    Add a toggle auto-renew to your subscription plan. The lack of it gives a semi-predatory vibe that feels out of place in such a trusted and professional company. I understand this may cause losses but your product needs to be more than just a pretty UI. People get VPNs because they don't trust that everyone is continuously monitoring their data and you need to make your company reflect the trust that your customers are looking for.

16. VPN default profile

    VPN default profile. I use VPN for work and created a dedicate profile for it. Unfortunately there is no way for me to select the default profile, so whenever it conennects it takes the first fastest server making me change to the profile. I would like to have the possibility to change the default profile.
