1. Web PDF Viewer Improvements

   Here are possible improvements to the pdf viewer (web):
   - Remove encryption
   - Convert to PDF/A
   - Convert to Linearized PDF

   I think the first one is the most useful for people. And once this is implemented, the other two could be easy to implement (given the toolchain required for the the first one).

2. 200 Gb upload to Drive

   I would like to upload my family pictures to Drive (I think it will be safety), and Now I upload on webpages but it's too slowly.
   Maybe ftp or something else upload version is it possible?

3. Crucial information on reinstalltion is not documented, seriuosly impacting on what is cloud stored. Default setting not appropriate

   New features:
   * Relevant documentation
   * The removal process in the app should NOT have the default set to "Remove Proton Drive settings and previously remembered credentials"
   * Removal of a named folder from the list of folders that set to be synced is too simple.

   I could not find any documentation on this, only found out by multiple tests.

   If your plan is to reinstall the Proton Drive app and expect to return to syncing as before with all previous versions intact - Be careful.

   If you have to reinstall on the same PC/laptop at program removal time you MUST uncheck "Remove Proton Drive settings and previously remembered credentials".

   If you leave at the default and remove previous settings and credentials the replacement app installation is unaware of any previous data synced, another version of the PC is initialized in the cloud and its starts uploading all of the data again. You end up two copies of the data in the cloud. Each independent copy with their own set of versions.

   ---

   Removal of folder from the synced list is too simple. A single yes/no box to confirm is not adequate protection because the folder is instantly deleted from the cloud

   The user should be more challenged, cause they could lose a lot a single push of a button. Suggest they should verify by typing the name of the folder they wish to delete in the yes/no box or the first yes/no box is followed by another - "Do you really want to do this?"

   New features:

4. Option to ignore sync issues in specific folders

   ProtonDrive displays a bunch of sync issues for file locks which may be unessential to sync immediately. This presents a problem for when actual sync issues show up which may go unnoticed. There should be an option to disable sync issues for specific folders, as well as a section to display "ignored" sync issues.

   In my case, I have ProtonDrive to sync my Thunderbird profiles. Thunderbird constantly uses these files, so there is a file lock on many of them and ProtonDrive is unable to sync. This is expected functionality however, and the files will sync once Thunderbird is closed. I do not wish to ignore all the sync issues since they may show real problems, but I do not care about the problems with file locks.

   (File locks here are defined as the status in "Sync issues" displaying "File or folder is being used by another app" for a file/folder).

5. Option to periodically stop and continue uploads in order to avoid failing uploads

   When uploading to the Proton drive using the Web interface, due to network issues, sometimes uploads of large files (e.g. 2GB) are aborted and then fail. In case of Proton drive I then have to upload such files from their beginning. That's quite frustrating, especially if the upload fails after 90% or so of the file. Workaround: I periodically halt the upload for a few seconds and then continue the upload in order to avoid trouble by possible timeouts somewhere. Would it be possible to automatize that, e.g. periodically halt and continue the upload after blocks of e.g. 64 MB? (Of course it would be better to have a resync feature in order to recover from failed uploads.)

6. AI auto files organisation for drive

   Now we have a lot of AI tools to help us, but no drive has implemented an artificial intelligence solution to organize our files automatically.

   We all have lots of files lying around but we never have time to organize them well, put them in the correct folders, etc. An AI that does this for us will be perfect

7. Introduce alerts when a file/folder is downloaded

   I would like to get alerted when a file/folder is downloaded, the alert can go to a different email than my proton account. With this I believe will enhance the awareness of important files

8. Proton Drive VAULT / ARCHIVE area that is cloud only and excluded from all app sync operations.

   It would be desirable that a part of your Proton Drive that should only be in the cloud and not visible to the app.

   Currently the Windows app syncs everything:
   * Everything in the directories that you select is uploaded
   * Everything in the "My Files" can be accessed from desktop by cloud stubs that the app creates.

   It would desirable to be able to select what you want from Proton Drive storage to be visible to your Win desktop. This could be done several ways:
   * The app have a button with the options of syncing/not syncing your Proton Drive "My Files" with your windows desktop.
   * Proton Drive to have another storage area like "My Files called "My Vault" which is always ignored by all syncing operations.

   ---

   This download syncing of "My Files" can be prevented by giving the app a "Proton Drive Folder" that has one file it. The app complains and will not create the cloud stubs on the local Windows desktop, the directory must be empty. The upload syncing of the windows folders to Proton Drive is unaffected.

   (cloud stubs same idea as windows cloud files)

   It would be desirable that a part of your Proton Drive that should only be in the cloud and not visible to the app.

9. more space! we should have the option to have 1TB minimum or even up to 4TB.

   500GB is nowhere near sufficient.
   I want the privacy and security proton drive has, but it should really be 1TB at minumim, and we should have the option to add more.
   Way more.

10. Website backup functionality

    Website backup possibility.
    I work as a Wordpress developer and would love to see Proton Drive as a backup possibility for my customers. Most of the major Backup Plug-ins like Duplicator Pro or Updraft Plus have direct connection to Google Drive, and Dropbox. It would be great to have Proton Drive as an option. Im sure this would bring more paying customers to your great services.

11. Simultaneous access to multiple Drive to/from single desktop device

    Allow access to multiple drive on the desktop app-simultaneous login, upload to/download from distinct drives to/from single desktop device. Currently, we can access more than one account on the Drive desktop app, but not simultaneously (feature to add account doesn't exist). Also, once logged into more than one account, we should be able to upload and download to each account or from each account using the same device.

13. Improve drive sync algorithm to greatly improve performance

    Proton Drive is extremely slow to upload my files, it's going at around ~200 Kbps, whereas speedtest.net shows I can do 3.62 Mbps upload.

    This is especially noticeable when there is a large number of small files to sync (eg, photo collection).

    I suspect that a potential cause is that new threads might be created to upload each individual file, resulting in the unnecessary opening and closing of many connections. Perhaps a better solution would be for each upload thread to establish a continuous connection and then pipe multiple files through that connection as raw data, which can be split back out into individual files on the server side.

    Another possible cause is that this is intentional, with Proton Drive having a rate limited upload in order to not disrupt user applications. If this is the case, then I would greatly appreciate as a user having the ability to control this throttle to speed up the upload when I want to.

    If there is no internal rate limiting, then at the very least, the number of simultaneous upload threads could be increased dynamically until the sum total of all connections stops improving by adding more threads. This could greatly improve upload rate, though probably would not be able to achieve as high a bandwidth as my first suggestion.

14. A configurable setting for the number of threads you upload with - enabling speedy upload of many small files.

    In the desktop client during initial configuration I would like to be able to increase the number of upload threads to on-boarding significantly quicker.

    For instance, if I have a code repository uploading to Proton Drive and the repository is composed of a node modules directory or a python modules directory there might be tens of thousands of files, and each one of them may be less than a kilobyte.

    In this case the time taken to initiate the connection, write the data, and report it as finished takes up almost all of the overall time.

15. Do not download "other computers" files by default

    During a second installation of ProtonDrive software on a laptop, I had to re-download dozens of gigabytes from the first desktop PC.

    I wish this could have been deactivated, I would have just retrieved a file or two from the web interface if necessary.

16. ProtonDrive Screenshot instant sharing feature (Like dropbox has now)

    I think everyone who is using or have been used Dropbox for files sharing on macOS was happy and find it so useful and time saving feature - instant screenshot sharing option. For those who doesn't know I explain how it should work.

    You make screenshot on the macOS (SHIFT+CMD+4) and your screenshot is instantly uploaded to ProtonDrive and the URL link copied to clipboard.

    Asking for macOS Client firstly, but if possible to make it for Linux and Windows as well, why not to include it in the roadmap?

18. Proton Drive should preserve file/folder created & modified timestamps on download

    Proton Drive is currently not preserving the created and modified timestamps of files and folders when downloaded back onto a device (at least not using the Windows client). The timestamps are indeed correctly stored on the server when viewing the items using the web interface. This is already a feature of OneDrive and is important for some users who rely on documents having accurate timestamped objects.

19. Server-Only Storage for Proton Drive

    A "vault" in the cloud for ProtonDrive where you can transfer files that won't sync to your desktop or other devices. Best example I can find is what sync.com already does.

20. Limit Sync Bandwidth

    Thank you for honoring Visionary subscribers with the extra capacity of Proton Drive. Please consider adding a setting that would limit the bandwidth during sync operations. The transfer speed is consuming all available bandwidth and it is difficult to do anything else when the sync process is running.
