Proton Docs accessibility (alt text for images)
We have to be able to add alt text to images in Proton Docs
While working on the accessibility of a document, I was not able to add alt text to images. This is a basic accessibility feature, and is in WCAG 2.2, 1.1.1 Non-text content (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#non-text-content). There is no good reason to exclude this feature. It would only lead to less accessibility for people with disabilities.3 votes -

I suggest a function to migrate from OneNote to Proton Drive. To fully migrate from Microsoft 365 to Proton you need not only a migration tool for Onedrive or Excel/Word but also a facility for easily migration for OneNote

Show upload/download status in tray icon tooltip and left click option
When hovering over the tray icon, it would be really useful to show status information like whether something is uploading or downloading, current speed, how much is completed, and how much is left.
There’s a lot of useful info that could live there instead of the tray icon being mostly passive. This would make background activity much more transparent and actually justify having the tray icon at all.
It would be great if the tray icon had a meaningful left-click action.
For example, in OneDrive, left-click opens a small window showing recent uploads and current sync activity. In Proton apps,…

Zotero for Proton Docs
It would be great if there was a way to use Zotero with the new Docs in Proton Drive, similar to the existing Google Docs plugin.
The ability to connect one's bibliographic reference database from Zotero would greatly facilitate the management of references in scientific and other publications.

In proton PC app, show ALL the remaining files to sync, not only currently synced. Also for Proton drive mobile.
In proton PC app, show ALL the remaining files to sync, when selecting folders for sync. Not only currently synced. You can also show the percentage of the sync in general and the time required (estimate) to sync all. The same I believe could be done for pictures in PC and mobile app pictures backup.

Add download permission and update already existing permission

In large documents with multiple headers, add a navigation bar to easily locate and maneuver to different parts of the document.

pure Video Links without Download option
I'd like to share my videos without making them downloadable. The download button should be optional.
When the shared link is clicked, the video should start playing directly in full screen.
Inexperienced users, and especially older users, won't realize they need to tap the (gray) button.
It should be as simple as possible.

Option to Clear Saved Username on Logout for Desktop app
Could you please add an option in the Proton Drive desktop app to clear the saved username/email on sign-out (for example, a Settings toggle "Clear saved username on logout" or a "Sign out and clear username" action). On shared or public computers the current behaviour of retaining the last-used email can lead to accidental or inappropriate sign-ins; this feature would improve privacy and reduce user confusion by requiring the next user to enter both username and password.

Simplify folder path structure in Drive on Windows
On Windows, Proton Drive creates a very strange folder structure:
C:\Users\username\Proton Drive\username\My files\
There are empty folders in the path for no reason. Why not just store everything directly inside Proton Drive? It feels unnecessary and cluttered.
Besides being visually messy (it literally bothers my OCD), it also makes accessing files slower and annoying because I have to click through multiple empty folders just to get to my stuff.

Live Picture Download
Support the ability to download live photos that are stored in proton drive as live photos. Currently you can save live photos and see them live in proton drive. But if you download the live photo to your phone it doesn't save as a live photo.

preview all files in album, even heavy content
As a user, I want to be able to preview all files in the photo album, especially heavy videos which for now only displays "This file is too large to preview".

Add support for viewing motion photos (.MP files) within Drive and the ability to select and save off a better shot/frame from that motion photo.

Sorting options in upload list (by date, name, size)
When uploading files to Drive (at least in the web version), there is a panel that shows the list of current uploads. It would be really helpful if this list could be sorted — by date, name, or size. Even just sorting by date (A→Z / Z→A) would make it easier to see what was uploaded first/last and keep track of order.
In the uploads panel we currently have: All, Active, Completed, and Failed. It would be really helpful to also have a 'Queued' category. Sometimes uploads stack up, and it's hard to tell what's waiting vs what's actually transferring.…

Modules for Docs
Hi,
I use Docs in several ways, as an writer, one of which is to write lore encyclopedia in it. One tool I've always missed is the ability to add modules, working like tables, with timelines, family trees, or other similar tools to efficiently record all the information I need.2 votes -
Grid view option for share links
When opening a folder shared via a link, the files are presented in list view. There is no option for grid view. It would be nice to have the option to switch to grid view.
Users with Proton accounts can save the shared folder and view it from the "Shared with me" tab in Proton Drive. There it is possible to choose grid view. Users without Proton accounts do not have this option.

Connection to annotation apps on iPad
I need Proton Drive to sync with an annotation app on my iPad - really any app that applies, e.g. iAnnotate or Notability.
As of now, I can annotate documents and the changes are saved directly to my OneDrive. I really need this feature in Proton Drive too.
Please take it into consideration - without this feature, Proton Drive isn‘t of any use to me.2 votes -
Team drive
We are using proton drive for work. Both for documents, but it also works as a kind of sharepoint/team drive. It would be really helpful to have a better teams function for the drive. At the moment we have a shared folder, but it is still only the "owner" that fully controls it. Furthermore, since I am not the owner, I am not able to access the folder through proton drive cloud on my computer. I can only access my own folders, not those shared with me.
