Increase files per folder limit beyond 30,000
I might be an edge case, but I regularly use Cryptomator to encrypt my local files. The problem is Cryptomator creates a large number of small files within a single folder. Needless to say, I cannot change the file structure without causing issues with Cryptomator, but I've blasted well beyond the 30,000 file limit. I'm a hair under 60,000 and I have heard of people who have far more files than I do.

Open file with a third party app on mobile
Need to just being able to open a file with a third party application.
Tap on menu file, choosing "Open with ..." , selecting appropriate application. That's all.
Now, if I want to open eg. a passwords file I need to download it, opening a file manager app, selecting folder and opening downloaded file.

Wifi only option for syncing all files on Android
Currently uploading files / making files available offline uses whatever internet connection is available, including cellular. There should be an option to make these actions wifi only.

Asustor Support
Hi!
I have an Asustor NAS that can back up to off-site storage. While there are plenty of off-site solutions from Amazon, Google, etc., having it tied to an encrypted service like ProtonDrive would be great!

Memories feature
One part of Google Photos that I will miss is the "Memories" feature. Not the creepy cloud-based processing, but just the notification to scroll through some of my old photos.
It doesn't have to be fancy, and you can play the same cheesy jingle each time!
(Unless there's a workaround and I can use another app that can safely read local photos while Proton Drive backs them up securely?)

Delete from desktop
Synced a folder that was too big, so it did not complete. No way to delete from desktop, so went to app to do it.

Synchronize deleting Photos
When deleting a photo from your gallery, it should be removed from Proton Drive Photos as well, and vice versa. It is really inconvenient having to go to both apps to delete photos you've taken. It should still also be possible to free up space on your phone by deleting local copies, maybe through the Drive app.

Use QR code to share files/folders
QR codes for sharing Proton Drive files/folder URLs. It would make sharing links from a desktop to phone MUCH easier. Not to mention safer. I'm using an online QR code generator. God only knows what they are doing with that data.

Cryptographically signed (and verified) media
With the challenges with misinformation and AI generated videos, photos and audio, Proton is in a unique position to leverage their development of pgp tools to integrate pgp signatures into the metadata for media. Similar to the preshared keys to validate (and encrypt) data with Proton's other products, this would be a video/photo feature of Proton Drive that would allow the signing of the photo with a pgp type signature. I'm not sure exactly how this would work given that pgp is file based but I think that Proton is well positioned to address verifying the chain of ownership for…

File Search
Filename based Search functionality within Proton Drive...
I don't necessarily mean searching for File-Content, this is difficult to achieve in a fully encrypted setting (albeit not impossible, if the indexing tool would run local or in a sand-boxed mode and the actual index database would be stored as a file on the actual encrypted proton drive account.... )
But rather just a search for file name (even partial names etc...)

ProtonDrive shares with other ProtonDrive
Irrespective if the users belong to the same paying package, the ability to share data/links from one ProtonDrive to another ProtonDrive either by allowing shared link to be directly accessible or other means to achieve the following:
- User A upload to their ProtonDrive
- User A share a link to User B
- User B access the link
- User B download locally link content
- User B upload content in their ProtonDrive
make 3. and 4. and 5. be directly in ProtonAG servers.

Retain Proton Drive folder data on local disk, as selectable default
I would like the functionality for Proton Drive folder to retain copy of data on my local disk, and have this functionality be selectable as a default.
My preference is to utilize 3-2-1 backup strategy,
copy-1 located on laptop,
copy-2 located on nearby portable disk, and
copy-3 located offsite-remote (Proton Drive).Current default behavior of Proton Drive is to REMOVE copy-1 after creating copy-3.
Current process available is to MANUALLY perform “DOWNLOAD” from copy-3, although I prefer to have this process available as selectable default.1 vote -
Option for synced photos to maintain original folder structure
A setting for mirroring the original storage file/folder structure when photos are backed-up would make searching, managing and retrieving files less daunting.

2FA protection for certain files and folders
Drive should have something like the "Personal Vault" from OneDrive.
Everything in the Proton Drive is available all the time everywhere. As some files are extremely critical, but dont need to be looked at or changed all the time from everywhere, this is a convenient weakness.
Example: I don't want my Bitcoin recovery phrase on the android app to be be "protected" with a fingerprint, and on the unlocked PC not protected at all.

Create folder shortcuts (so you don't have to make a duplicate)
In Google Drive, you can "Add Shortcut" of an existing folder so you don't have to duplicate folder content (you can enter the same folder from multiple locations). Similarly, macOS allows you to "Make Alias" of a folder, & in Linux you can create symlinks of folders. Would be great to be able to do this in Proton Drive!

Store local data in a VeraCrypt-encrypted volume on Windows
Be able to locate in a volume encrypted with VeraCrypt on PC (possibly on a USB key) the data synchronized with that stored in the Proton Drive Cloud.

Select over range through months inside of photos
Select SHIFT doesn't seem to work when doing it over months. It works normally when doing it over individual photos, even across months.

Allow to download all data from photo and drive
Recently I had to remove an address and all of its associated data, the issue is that downloading all of my data was painful, as a lot of the downloads took, a while, and the download often failed. Forcing me to manually select smaller folders, and download those, then merge them.
As for photos scrolling through all photos and selecting each month, it appears as if there is no "select range" key binding.
It would be useful in general to have a "take out" feature for both drive and photos.
