  1. Proton Photo +Proton Notes with duplicate/ similar photo cleaner app within

    What could really up the game here is a Proton photo app for Photos and Videos that automatically has a duplicate - cleaner service in it. The ability to tag/ like/ photos according to user face recognition/ gps location I am not sure how that could work with the privacy encryption but could be an optional section within the app. Just to make it easier to find/ catalog and tag pictures and remove duplicate pictures all in one. I can't think of anyone having implemented a duplicate/ similar picture- video cleaner in app.

  3. A Proton Gallery or Sync?

    What would be more important for Proton Drive right now? A Gallery separate from Drive, since both are different functions, or a synchronization of devices with internal storage (folders)?
    Or even better, a cloud Proton Gallery app that displays all the media from the Proton Drive backup?

    Indeed, a Proton Gallery would be interesting, with options and functions of a normal Gallery and Proton Drive, with offline media viewing and control of media saved online, such as the option to keep multiple versions of a Drive file that could be very useful when editing or changing the media.

  4. Edit Markdown or txt files directly

    I have a bunch of markdown and txt files I'd love to migrate over from my current cloud service. I can store them, but editing them creates a new file in the ProtonDrive format. It would be great to be able to edit these files directly so any online changes can be synced with the desktop app.

  5. Proton Gallery, a Cloud Gallery is the future

    We need our own Proton Gallery, separate from Proton Drive, it doesn't make sense to literally have two apps in one, I was using Ente Photos and the app is amazing in what it proposes, much better than Google's 'drive photos', but it's an app with limited functions for now, maybe because it's still in the first version.

    Having a Gallery and a cloud is a dream of Android users, only Apple devices had this function a long time ago, being able to organize and do various things within a cloud is something incredible, unfortunately applications with this ability only…

  6. More storage options 5T + and more affordables plans... maybe offering 2year subscription plans

    Please offer more storage options, at more affordable rate... maybe 2yearly plans too.. similarly to IceDrive. Their implementation as system hard drive is great too. Would love to see this feature on protondrive as I think more user would switch from Icedrice or other cloud services... For professional users Proton is just not enough for the price.

  7. Photo/Video compression

    What I like the most about Google Photos is the photo/video compression. I save locally the compressed photo/video and delete the original, to save storage space, because I think the compressed version is good enough for personal use (it's not even perceptible unless you zoom in greatly).

    As a Proton Premium user with more than 5 domains using mx.proton and mx.simplelogin, I appreciate the new folder sharing feature in Proton Drive that allows others to upload files. However, I am facing a challenge as I cannot change the email address of the folder owner. This becomes less practical when I need to share with clients using an email address from a different domain. I hope Proton can consider providing users with the option to change the email address, given the interconnectedness of the Proton and SimpleLogin ecosystems.

  9. Option to turn on compression on photo/videofiles

    I just started to use proton drive and uploaded 50 foto's and 8 relative short video's but already 800MB was used of the free 2GB i received. One videofile was 260mb while in Google Photos this same video, compressed ofcourse, was only 14mb.

    I would like to see an option to compress video and maybe even photos by default for uploading.

    Ability to control spacing - single space, double, space, 1.5 space, etc. Proton drive is unusable to me without that ability.

  11. Separate public links for editor and viewer access

    With the addition of collaboration with users without Proton accounts, I'd like to see the option to generate two separate public links:

    One with viewer access (safely shared with anyone)
    One with editor access (shared with trusted contacts)

    For example this could be used for a community of people where the general public needs to be able to view a document, but only a few select members needs editing access, without a Proton account.

  12. Proton Drive Audio File Quality Of Life Support

    Hello Proton Friends,

    I am a producer/musician and I use Proton Drive mainly for storing and securely sharing links to MP3/WAV files that I upload. The preview functionality for audio files as is works just fine. It plays the mp3 from start to end in a high quality way. However, I often find myself having to re-open my phone, and I have to scrub back to the beginning of the audio file in order to replay it.

    Let Proton Drive on android implement "cloud media provider"

    It's possible for apps to register as "cloud media provider". This means that when a user can use this provider in the android photo picker. This is a great use-case for Proton Drive and would make it a much better Google Photos alternative.

  14. HTML viewer - open HTML docs in browser window

    HTML files saved on drive, currently open in raw code view, which is very unhelpful. HTML documents by default universally open in a browser window. I request support to view HTML documents in a browser window be added to proton Drive features

    In PDF Preview inside Proton Drive it is possible to add Markup to the PDF. But saving those changes works only by downloading and re-uploading.

    It should be possible to save changes directly to Proton Drive.

  16. Please add auto upload and sync for specific folders on android

    On android I'm really missing the feature to sync and auto upload specific folders. For now this is just possible for pictures.
    I need this to backup important data like, contacts, calendar, 2FA & offline password manager.
    Would really save a lot of work and be more reliable

    Along with improvements to things like line spacing and line numbering pointed out by other users, an essential feature for academic purposes is the ability to use reference managers like Zotero, Mendeley, etc.

  19. Sync to external ssd on Mac

    Proton uses Apple API which does not support syncing external SSD on Mac OS. This makes it basically useless for all of those with collections of flies on external drives.
