while in album view I would like to filter for pics, videos, live pics, bursts etc, same as it is possible in the photos view.

Please please release a linux sync client. I am a paying user and this entire feature is almost completely unusable for me. Please remind yourself where you come from and release also features for the community that supports you from the early proton times!

Add ability to free up space by deleting backed up photos from device
The Android app (and iOS, too, probably) already has the ability to back up photos to Proton Drive. What would be really helpful, and for feature parity with Google Photos, is a "Free up space" option that would simple delete photos from the device that have already been backed up to Proton Drive. You could do Google Photos one better by having an option to do that on-the-fly, as well, instead of it being a manual process.

Zoom alternative add on for artistically inclined?
This may be a bit much for the free tier Proton servers, but here's a 2-part pitch:
(1) functional Zoom alternative
(2) Maybe a feature of said alternative or another feature entirely for a "shared canvas" "chat room" type thing? I've heard about multiple people meeting up online in a kinda Zoom-ish meeting/chat room where they have a canvas that they can create art with and write messages - and option for mic to be muted or on was available. Not sure if it's an app or a website or what, but it seemed really cool and wondered if there…

Drag and drop files into sidebar (Web version)
At the moment (in the web version) one can only drag and drop files from the list of files to a folder in the top bar (My files > folder 1 > Folder 1.1, etc), but I need to be able to drag and drop files directly into folders in the left sidebar.
Another thing important for this feature to work well is to be able to expand the left sidebar, so the entire folder names are displayed.
ps. does this feature exist in the desktop app yet? I'm not using the app yet because my mac is too old...

When uploading documents, scanning documents into Proton Drive, or trying to find the most commonly accessed items, a filter for recent documents would be extremely helpful.

Proton Docs / Sheets - Microsoft Format compatibility mode
I’d like to request Microsoft Office format compatibility for Proton Docs and Sheets.
At the moment, I’ve migrated most of my files to Proton Drive, but I still need to keep all my .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files in Google Drive because Proton does not yet support them natively. Since I work across multiple systems, I rely on these universal file formats for seamless collaboration and interoperability.
It would be extremely valuable to have:
- A compatibility mode similar to Google Docs/Sheets for handling Microsoft formats

Dear Proton,
After decades of discontent with Microsoft Windows, in January of this year I finally switched to Linux (Mint). I was however very surprised and disappointed to learn that Proton Drive does not work with Linux. I would appreciate it very much if you would work on this. Thank you.11 votes -

When duplicating a sheet in Proton Sheets. Please place the new sheet next to the original sheet and not all the way at the end of the list.

In that message the user receives now, when uploading, there is a question what you want to do: keep one file, keep both files or skip file (and do this for all items).Now the user gets the message : “200 items failed to move” without telling the user why.

All uploads of any kind should by accessible in My files
The way proton drive fractions everything into incompatible storage areas makes no sense. I just need a folder to store my files, synced across all devices. Depending on how I try to add files they go to:
- a photos bucket that isn't in "My files"
- a "My computer" section that seems to also not be in "My files" (and seems to split things out by device)
- ??? if I try to drag and drop them between two file explorer windows on the local machine
- "My files" if I open the web application and drag them in there (abandoning the Proton…

make Proton Photos reachable from Mac file browser (Finder)
It's already possible to access to the files stored in the area "My files" in the Proton Drive from the Mac file browser (finder), however the photos stored in "Photos" are not reachable from the Finder, therefore it's not possible to work on the images with an editor software without having to download the file from the drive first.

Open links within PDF preview in new tab
Currently, hyperlinks within PDFs open in the same tab. It would be great if they could open in a new tab by default (although ctrl/cmd + click can be used to open in new tab).

Make it possible to have files that exist *only* on Proton Drive in the cloud and that are *not* synced to non-cloud devices
Currently, files on Proton Drive are synced with those on a computer or mobile device. If deleted from the device, they also disappear from Proton Drive. It would be beneficial to have files stored only on Proton Drive. This could be achieved in one or both of two ways: 1) allow manual creation of cloud folders on Proton Drive that do not sync with connected devices, enabling manual addition of files and subfolders; or 2) enable users to turn off syncing for files or folders uploaded via syncing, thus disconnecting them from their original local files, allowing local deletions without…

Consolidated Download Notifications for Multiple Files
When downloading files one by one, the app currently creates a separate notification for each file. This quickly clutters the notification area and makes it inconvenient to track how many files have already been downloaded.
It would be better to group these into a single notification that updates with the current count of downloaded files, or alternatively replaces the previous notification with a new one showing the updated total.
