This is very important for me to, trying to degoogle my life.

I absolutely need open document format support. It's always a hassle on Linux to download a file through the (still only) *web-app*, edit it with LibreOffice, save it somewhere, then upload it again and delete the local file, just to make a "remote" change.

I forgot to throw Trello up there. I know it is a Kanban type software, but it sure is a good one.

Proton Office:
An integration with OnlyOffice (for online GUI), CryptPad or OpenOffice would work just fine; I would pay an additional bit for some form of office suite or Notion/Kanban esq integration with for the Proton software suite. Ideally, all of the features of OnlyOffice/OpenOffice with a notion-like productivity journal.

I think this is IMPERATIVE if you are aiming to compete with Google and Microsoft for their cloud software suites. You would easily be able to shill buying more Proton Drive space if this were added, which I would likely buy on top of any price increases for an office feature.

I love that Proton Pass has notes, but it isn't enough. Maybe start with an OnlyOffice integration that works with Proton Drive similar to how Cryptpad.fr does it? Furthermore, I know that XWiki, the creators of Cryptpad, do contract work with corporations. Since they have almost exactly what I am asking for on Proton, maybe reaching out to them and OnlyOffice would be a good idea?

Developers, check out OnlyOffice and Cryptpad.fr (which is also an E2E encrypted service that offers collaborative editing) and see if you could replicate their offerings for us Proton users. That would essentially complete the software suite in my eyes.

Even if you wanted to eventually create your own native solution, THIS would be a great starting/testing point.

Completely agree on integrating Standard Notes into the Proton suite of products. I am a Notion user, paid because I need more storage capacity than the one offered in the free version, but Notion is quite expensive, and I do not use the collaboration features that Notion offers, I just need a personal wiki to use it as my second brain.
I was not aware of Standard Notes (thanks @Huey for sharing!) so I will start trying it now. Proton team: It will be great if in an eventual future launch of "Proton Notes" you include the feature of importing user content from Notion, Standard Notes and the rest of the main note-taking apps.

If such a thing happens, please, re-use already existing open source projects like Collabora Office, Cryptpad or OnlyOffice and do not reinvent the wheel from the ground up.
That's the spirit of Open source and allows for quicker development.

I'm considering the switch and want to migrate my skiff drive files... but without a basic word processor I can't.

100% required before I commit to any proton mail services. Collaboration is not particularly important for a first pass at this.

Onlyoffice decided to make mobile usage require a subscription fee, even though it was previously available to everyone for free. Collabora is an awesome alternative!

Use an already existing open source frame (like Cryptpad, OnlyOffice or Collabora Office/LibreOffice Online) to create an integrated and collaborative encrypted office suite.

Make it Open source from the very beginning and allow for the community to actively help the development and improvement of the project. Allow and encourage upstream contribution to the office projects.

(There are already three other ideas about an office suite (1. Cryptpad, 2. Onlyoffice and 3. LibreOffice. Merge the ideas into this one ?)

Collabora Office is also a viable, if not better option for a collaborative, integrated and encrypted open source office suite.

This is the most important product missing from the Proton suite. Having a beautiful and private (but shareable) word processor, and spreadsheet would be game changing.

Seeing all these post combined and with the highest number of upvotes on the whole Proton Uservoice I expect this suggestion is getting some attention and hopefully is going to be a planned feature.

That would be actually a very good idea. I move from Murena.io (/e/OS) because of the lack of encryption. But now I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of interoperability of Proton Services when it comes to share multiple documents on multiple devices and edit them. For exemple, opening an office document in Android, that I started on PC was totally doable with Murena, and a pain even for a txt document with Proton. I'm not worried, Proton services are new and they increase very quickly over the months. The acquisition of a note taking app is exciting for this purpose but I dream to get bigger.

Similar to Google Docs or Microsoft Online Office, only a productivity suite that is private and not read by big tech for AI learning .. A productivity suite that is collaborative and ties in with Proton Drive.

Yes, some basic apps need to be integrated with Drive.

Now with the acquisition of Standard Notes I think there is room to expand its features with PowerPoints and Documents. It already has Spreadsheets. Then it would start being an alternative for Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (or Googles services). I think that would be a great addition for individuals but of course also businesses.

I personally need an Office program and since I can't sync my documents from MS Office automatically with Proton Drive, this would kill two birds with one stone.

Just commenting to slightly revise -- and name Etherpad as a good open source alternative to Skiff Pages (which I don't actually think ever released their code).
