Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Please at least give a minimal support for the rclone implementation. I took a subscription to test all the features, but I am disappointed in the lack of Linux support.

At the very least they should support the rclone implementation. Like that wouldn't even be that much work compared to a full blown client

Proton Drive - Paid Plan User

I have been a paying customer almost 4 years. Proton does not do the job for me anymore without a Linux client for Drive. When my membership expires, unless there is a Linux client for Drive, I will have to move on to another service unfortunately. Cannot keep waiting and expending no matter how much I believe in their values.

Paying customer here. I've been toying with upgrading my Proton account to Duo/Family, but the lack of a command line client for Drive is a real disincentive. No need to reinvent the wheel. Rclone used to work, sort of, but Linux (and OS X command line) users really need something that is robust and reliable. Please make this a priority.

Please put in your roadmap priority: us, users that are from Linux world
Users and communities that are sharing same values of Proton BUT working as volunteers in different forums or open source communities like rclone in first instance, can't be sustainable anymore continuing to reverse engineer your APIs forever, to mitigate a missing official support and being pointed out as "rclone is not a supported solution".
You appears, to many, a closed company but we know that it is not the case.
Again after ups and downs, till October 18th rclone stopped working with your reverse engineered API
rclone is, as of now, the only alternative to USE Proton Drive from Linux world
we all appreciate your transparency and communication in sharing your values and effortsBUT
you as Proton are putting at risk your reputation because you are leaving - the same community of nerds, geeks and hackers that built and were the foundation of your company - out from your door
We are all happy to see Proton products are rising among "ordinary" users from Win and Mac world, in the past years a giant leap has been done to make UIs Apps and offer comparable/better against big MAGA companies
BUT now it's time for Linux client, we all expect to have cool app for GUI users but also terminal commands to use like rclone
Thank you!

Dido. Linux is used by those who are privacy focused folks, and with Proton "Privacy by default" does not seem so default where it needs to be. Please add this.

Absolutely wild that a company catering to privacy focused people wouldn't have Linux clients for a bunch of their services...
So frustrating to find this out after subscribing and moving my email over. -

I understand not wanting to build a native app, but please at least work with rclone to fix their Proton Drive support.
-
Adesh Kadambi commented
It's frustrating that this isn't a native feature since rclone is unreliable and often stops working due to too many login attempts. If there is no plan for a native linux client at least work with rclone to make the connection reliable.

And another paying customer that could really use this feature, also for business use. Ubuntu LTS

I'm using Celeste as a workaround on Linux Mint but is not as good as native app on Windows 10.

Need CLI rclone type capabilities for Linux, this is critical top #1 missing feature for this paying customer.

I am a linux only user. Without a viable solution (previously rclone) my subscription becomes 99% useless..

This is really needed. Windows as an OS is broken and Linux is the only real somewhat European alternative.

Would be a reason to switch to Infomaniak.

I just got rid of Microsoft and Google completely. Alternatives for everything. Except Proton Drive... Was happy with Proton Unlimited until today. Not being able to use Proton Drive on Linux is a reason for me to stop using Proton

Could it be the "same" bridge in order to not have to run mulitple bridges ?
