Bring Linux app quality in line with Windows and Apple apps
The Linux apps from Proton are subpar when compared to the same apps on Windows or IOS (when they even exist).
As a paying unlimited customer I expect much better. I propose that instead of wasting resources on features which customers have not asked for (Ai, Bitcoin wallet, etc.) you allocate more time and resources to developing your Linux ecosystem. After all, Linux is the only truly private operating system, this should be closely aligned with Proton's mission.

want to use my keepass database synced with proton drive. Please give us proton drive for linux!
Recent political developments and my focus on “buy European” make Linux support for Proton Drive important, even crucial.

I agree with other comments that we Linux users need better support from Proton. I have recommended multiple people to switch to Proton. Hoping I can continue to do so since I also recommend switching to Linux.

100% backing this idea. It's an inconvenience to upload to Drive through the web browser. As an Unlimited user this is critical to continue with Proton in the future.

Schade. Wann kann man mit einem Release rechnen?

Agreed with all the comments here. I just signed up for Proton Ultimate and was stunned that even after all this time there was no support for a Drive app on Linux.

Interestingly, even MEGA's free app works better than using half-baked solutions for Proton Drive through RClone and Celeste on Linux. Get it sorted! I'm gladly paying for Proton's other services, but the lack of a proper Drive application is really, really bad.

I'm trying to degoogle my life. Been a long time Linux user (25+ years). Want to move my last bit of stuff over from google workspaces and upgrade to Unlimited Plan but the lack of a working Linux client is making me think of moving completely off Proton after almost 8 years of using the service. Like others have said - stop all the development of these other add-ons and get a freaking Linux Drive client that actually works!!

Switched to linux and thinking about leaving Proton Drive because there is no linux client. Also the vpn client feels subpar compared to the windows and macos client...

an app dedicated to synchronizing files for linux desktops is really necessary, and would still be in line with the overall philosophy of the product by supporting an "open source" operating system wich is "privacy oriented" by design. Now this is the thing that poses the biggest obstacle for me to the completion of the degoogle process. Thanks.

The linux Proton drive app is the only component missing to complete a solution that can take me out of the Windows/Office/oneDrive straitjacket

I agree. I am very grateful that Proton exists, but we've been waiting for this for many years. I'd add three things :
* I have non-techie friends & family asking to switch to Linux (because of the Windows mess), and they're happy. But the lack of Proton drive client is something that is an argument to stay on Windows. Which is, privacy-wise, something that is completely against what Proton stands for!
* I don't you what your infrastructure is made of, but I'm willing to bet it's almost 100% linux-based. Maybe it's time to give back ?
* Proton's reputation is being damaged, and I'm not trying to be hyperbolic. Proton has been promising a linux client for Drive for so many years, without delivering, it makes me wonder how things work internally. Plus, your competitors (some are smaller than you are) have no problem delivering a linux client that works well, so what's the problem here?
