    I would like to see Unlimited Storage tier similar to Google Workspaces and Dropbox. It's one of the two blockers that prevent me from switching to Proton.

    The way Google and Dropbox implemented it is they don't just give unlimited storage up front but require users request increase when they approach their current storage limits.     Dear Proton Drive Team,

    I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to suggest a couple of features that I believe would greatly enhance the functionality of Proton Drive.

    Online-Only Files: On macOS with Dropbox, there is an option to right-click on a file and select "Online Only," which removes the file from the local disk and only keeps a reference with zero bytes. This feature helps save disk space. I would like to request a similar functionality in Proton Drive if its possible.

    It would be great if there was a way to manually clear sync errors in Proton Drive on OSX. Like if I don't need/want Proton Drive to automatically retry a sync, say, if I've removed the file.

  7. Improve drive sync algorithm to greatly improve performance

    Proton Drive is extremely slow to upload my files, it's going at around ~200 Kbps, whereas speedtest.net shows I can do 3.62 Mbps upload.

    This is especially noticeable when there is a large number of small files to sync (eg, photo collection).

    I suspect that a potential cause is that new threads might be created to upload each individual file, resulting in the unnecessary opening and closing of many connections. Perhaps a better solution would be for each upload thread to establish a continuous connection and then pipe multiple files through that connection as raw data, which can be split…

  8. Backup a network drive

    When I attempt to use the Proton Drive Windows app, it requests that I select a folder for automatic backup to Proton Drive. However, it will not allow me to select a network drive.

  11. limit space for shared folders

    Situation:

    The files in a shared folder only take up storage space for the owner of a folder, which is helpful.

    But this may cause other users to accidentally or intentionally use more storage than the owner wants.

    Suggestion:

    The owner of a shared folder can limit the storage space for this folder. This way they can reserve storage space for private use and shared use.

  15. Show size of versioned files

    There is no way to see how much storage space is being consumed by old versions of files and which files they are.

    Example:
    1) I create a large file at it is 1GB
    2) I edit this file substantially and it is still 1GB. The previous version is being retained based on my settings

    Q1: Is this file now consuming 2GB of my storage space? (Potentially less if you are using smart de-duplication but give I have modified the file substantially it would likely not have much data redundancy.)

  18. Cache low quality version of photos in mobile app

    It takes several seconds for a preview of the images to be displayed in the gallery. This takes far too long. Especially if you are looking for a specific image among many others. I would recommend caching a low quality version of the images on the mobile app so that they can be displayed directly and the high-resolution version is only loaded after a longer waiting time.

  20. Enable syncing from external drives that are Exfat formatted

    Make it possible to sync files from external SSD's/ HDD's that are formatted in Exfat. Exfat is commonly used to use the external drive on Windows and Mac together. At this point this isn't supported by Proton Drive.
