1. Proton Drive - Save feature integration

   I want to be able to save files or links etc. from the iPhone "share" menu. Right now, I can only save to the iPhone Files app which has Proton Drive, but I would prefer to save directly to the Proton Drive app.

2. Create a map and file location link, for quick acces to view or open a map or file

   Working together faster. Create with right mouse button a file link, of the location, for people who already have acces to the main map, but can easily find and view/open a particular map or file, by clicking the link. People who dont have acces, cant open the link, because you need to be signed in and granted acces tot the location.

   Im trying to get a group of 'new users' enthusiastic, to invite them to make and use a free account as an first step, to get acces to the map and files, but it's a bit difficult to show them where a new file is placed.

3. Sync frequency setting in desktop app

   Some softwares I use everyday update lots of files in the background.
   The continuous sync quite often get stuck with sync errors trying to keep up (and then I have to pause/restart sync).
   To avoid this I simply pause sync for the day sometimes, but it's a pain to manually do this everyday.

   It would be awesome to be able to sync the drive once a day at session startup for example (or at a specific time), when I'm not modifying stuff yet. I don't really need a sync every second.

4. Downloading documents via the apps and line spacing

   The ability to download and edit documents via the Proton Drive app (both desktop and mobile). Additionally, line spacing is crucial when editing documents.

5. Segmented Streaming for Videos to enable previewing large video files

   I tried to preview a 5min video which is 5GB in my drive, but I couldn't. It wouldn't load at all. I assume the app is trying to download the whole thing and then let me view it instead of serving me chunks, so with segmented streaming I hope I can view any of my video files with 0 waiting time.

7. web client: Show upload/download speed and ETA

   When you download/upload a file with the web client, it would be very nice if you could see the download/upload speed per second and an ETA (left: 5min12s - finishes at 13:46).

9. Open or convert Google Docs files

   I moved my Google Docs files to Proton. Currently, those can't be opened in Proton Drive. If that cannot be achieved, it would be nice to lets you convert them. I am also curious if there are current ways to achieve that.

11. Share file access metrics -

    I share a file, i would like a log -datetime, USER IP ADDRESS and ideally USERNAME (and geo location) of user who accessed the file -every hit to the file.

12. Show current folder when moving files

    When I select the title of my current document > move to folder, a popup showing my drive folder structure appears. I'd like to see the current file path on top of the list.

    This is useful because I can't accidentally move to a wrong folder or fail to recognize that the file I'm working on is already in there.

14. Please make Proton Drive available in F-Droid

    Unlike Proton Authenticator, Pass, VPN, and Lumo apps, which are available in F‑Droid, it’s sad that Proton Drive is still unavailable there. I really miss this app to have all Proton apps from F‑Droid.

15. Improve preview speed of document

    I find that Proton Drive is the best in the market in my preference. But I'm using it to deliver project to my client. The slow speed to preview, especially video and photos, makes it almost impossible to make my client happy.

    Please do something, we need Proton.

18. Hide Microsoft Office temporary files from Recent Activity and Trash

    When using Microsoft Office with Proton Drive sync, temporary Office files such as ~$filename.docx appear in Recent Activity and Trash.

    These files are automatically created and deleted by Microsoft Office during normal operation, which creates unnecessary noise and clutter in activity/history/trash views — especially when working with many documents.

    Other cloud storage providers such as OneDrive or Dropbox seem to suppress them from user-facing views.

    It would greatly improve the overall UX if Proton Drive ignored or hid known Microsoft Office temporary files entirely.

    Additional thoughts:
    • If deletion/recovery notifications are enabled, they are triggered whenever Word closes a document.
    • While these temporary files may still serve internal Microsoft Office purposes, they are not meaningful user documents and do not need to be surfaced prominently in Proton Drive.

    Hello Proton Drive Team,
    I wanted to share some feedback that I hope will be useful to you.
    Currently, when backing up photos from a smartphone, the folder structure is not preserved in the cloud. All photos end up mixed together in one place (or with very limited organization), even though they are neatly sorted into thematic folders on the phone (e.g. Vacation 2025, Family, Home Projects, etc.).
    It would be really helpful if Proton Drive respected the original folder structure. This would allow us to find the folder names directly in the cloud without having to reorganize everything manually.
    This makes a big difference in terms of organization and user experience, especially for those with a large number of photos.

20. Branded download pages for Drive

    Hi Team and Community,

    As a professional delivering files on the daily, I'd love to see the introduction of a customisable and branded landing page for shared files à-la-WeTransfer, allowing professionals to remain on-brand and professional for file deliveries using Proton Unlimited or other paid tiers (for Drive).

    I'm thinking of graphic designers, agencies, photographers, but every B2B/B2C business could benefit from this seemingly easy-to-implement feature.

    Suggestions include :
    - a custom URL tail,
    - adding a background,
    - adding a logo,
    - adding contact info / socials.

    Big bonus if you somehow figure out how to let us customise that to use a subdomain such as files.domainname.com or proton.domainname.com, that'd be absolutely terrific.
