Use directory names as Album Names
When photos are currently synced they get synced into one huge folder. Use the directories they are located in as Albums. The current way basically undoes how photos are categorized/sorted.

Compléter un dossier volumineux avec les éléments manquants uniquement, même après l’interruption d’une importation
Cette demande concerne principalement l’interface web de Proton Drive, accessible directement depuis Proton Drive ou par l’intermédiaire de Proton Mail.
Lorsqu’un dossier volumineux comportant de nombreux niveaux de sous-dossiers et de fichiers est déjà présent dans Proton Drive, il devrait être possible de le compléter ultérieurement en sélectionnant simplement de nouveau le dossier d’origine. Proton Drive devrait alors comparer les deux arborescences et importer uniquement les dossiers et fichiers manquants, sans remplacer ni importer de nouveau ceux qui sont déjà présents.
Cette fonctionnalité est également indispensable lorsqu’une importation est interrompue à la suite d’un plantage de l’ordinateur ou du navigateur, d’une coupure de connexion, d’un redémarrage du système ou de tout autre incident.
Actuellement, lorsque l’on sélectionne de nouveau le dossier principal afin de compléter ou de reprendre l’importation, Proton Drive détecte un doublon, mais ne propose que les choix suivants :
– remplacer le dossier ou le fichier existant ;
– garder les deux ;
– ignorer entièrement le dossier.Aucun de ces choix ne permet de poursuivre simplement l’importation en ajoutant uniquement ce qui manque.
Lorsqu’un seul dossier nécessite plusieurs heures, voire plusieurs jours d’importation, il n’est pas normal qu’un simple incident oblige l’utilisateur à tout recommencer ou à rechercher manuellement chaque élément manquant. Proton Drive devrait proposer un véritable mécanisme de reprise après interruption ou d’importation incrémentale, capable d’analyser l’arborescence déjà importée et de poursuivre uniquement avec les éléments manquants.
Actuellement, l’utilisateur doit rechercher manuellement, dans toute l’arborescence, les dossiers, sous-dossiers et fichiers qui n’ont pas été importés. Il doit ensuite les sélectionner et les importer séparément, souvent un dossier à la fois. Pour un dossier volumineux comportant plusieurs niveaux de sous-dossiers, cette opération est extrêmement longue, compliquée et présente un risque important d’oublier certains éléments.
Il serait donc nécessaire d’ajouter une option telle que :
« Importer uniquement les dossiers et fichiers manquants, sans remplacer ceux déjà existants. »
Cette option devrait comparer automatiquement et récursivement toute l’arborescence du dossier d’origine avec celle déjà présente dans Proton Drive, conserver les éléments existants sans les importer de nouveau et ajouter uniquement ceux qui sont absents ou dont l’importation n’a pas été achevée.
Ce fonctionnement existe déjà dans d’autres services de stockage ou outils de copie. Il simplifierait considérablement l’utilisation de Proton Drive, en particulier pour les dossiers volumineux, et éviterait d’avoir à contrôler puis importer manuellement chaque élément manquant.
Idéalement, cette fonctionnalité devrait être disponible dans toutes les versions de Proton Drive permettant l’importation de dossiers.

Allow rename of file when saving on iOS/ipadOS
It should be possible to rename the file before saving the file from for example the web browser to proton drive.
Very annoying that after saving the file I need to open up proton drive, go to the correct location in the folder structure and then rename the file.3 votes -
Proton Drive Upload files while in background
Proton Drive needs to be able to upload files in the background. When I send large number of files to proton drive to upload, I can't dedicate the use of my phone to proton drive. kind of defeats the purpose of a multi-tasking operating system. Frankly, this worked before the first of the year, so I don't know what took a step back proton drive or IOS26. Which ever it is, please get this feature implemented.

All photos available offline
I want to use Proton Drive as a replacement for my phone gallery. Therefore, I want my photos to appear in the app instantly and not only after uploading. Also, I want all photos to be available offline, because I want to view photos without a network connection.

Shorter urls for documents in drive
I would like to have the links to some spreadsheets and docs in Proton Drive to paste to other documents, but the links copied from browser address bar are too long.
Should the URLs in address bar be redesigned to be shorter to copy and paste in documents while they still look ok instead of the length of a paragraph?
The choice to share for url isn't an option 'cause the docs are supposed to be private.

Display contributor names directly in the shared folder file list
While there are ways to check who added or modified a file in Proton Drive, this information is not directly visible in the web interface’s file list.
Please add “Added by” and “Last modified by” columns to shared folders, so we can see contributor names at a glance without opening additional menus or checking each file individually.
Having this information visible alongside files, similar to Google Drive, would make it much easier to follow changes and collaborate with friends or colleagues.

Proton sheets - option to preserve formatting of origin cell when cutting
I would like the cells in my sheet to all be size 13 text with text wrap. I also have a table which has thicker border lines then the default. However when I cut and paste to move text, the original cell goes back to the default settings of size 10 text with overflow, and the cell borders go back to thin lines. I would like a cut option that leaves the original cell formatting unchanged.

There should be a way to commit the edit of a cell and keep the same cell selected.
This is accomplished in Excel by Control + Enter.

Integrate Proton Docs & Sheets into a Proton Office suite app
Instead of these being separate apps, why not integrate them into one app and call it " Proton Office suite ", Similar to how libreoffice is. Have an icon for each app. It could be made into a web wrapper app.

Cloud-only Mode as the Default for Windows
Hello Proton Drive team,
Please consider making Cloud-only mode the default behavior for the Windows app, similar to the Android app.
Files should remain only in the cloud by default and should only be downloaded when the user chooses to open or download them. Users who prefer local syncing could enable it in Settings.
This would save disk space, improve privacy, reduce unnecessary local file copies, and provide a cleaner, more consistent experience across devices.

I frequently experience issues with input not being accepted on my iPad Air and Magic Keyboard.
I tried inputting text into Proton Sheets using an 11-inch iPad Air M2 and the official Magic Keyboard, but the following problems frequently occur:
Pressing the cursor keys does not move the cell.
When typing text with the cursor in a cell, the typed text is not entered into the cell (the typed text does not appear anywhere on the screen, and there is no response whatsoever).
The conditions under which these problems occur are unclear. Sometimes, tapping the screen several times will allow input to be accepted, but often this does not.
In any case, these are basic bugs, and it seems that Sheets has not been tested with a hardware keyboard. Until these are fixed, I cannot continue to use Sheets. I hope for an immediate improvement.

Backup on schedule
Would be great to have an option to backup on schedule. Problem I have now is if a program does a lot of real time changes in a folder, then Proton Drive will go rampant with trying to save these changes to the cloud and often bug out because the files are in use etc.

Support for GIMP (.xcf) files in Proton Drive Photos preview.
Please add preview support for GIMP's native .xcf format within Proton Drive Photos.
Many privacy-conscious creators use Proton alongside open-source creative tools like "GNU Image Manipulation Program" (GIMP) instead of Adobe Photoshop.
Currently, Proton Drive Photos does not recognize .xcf files as generic binary files. If Proton Drive Photos could recognize and generate thumbnails for .xcf files, it would be much easier for open-source photographers and digital artists to manage their active, layered project files securely.

I really appreciate the ability to change the properties of different heading styles in Docs, the way google docs does it is just fine, the "update to fit selection."

Allow external apps to connect to Proton Drive for things like backups
It would be nice to be able to, on third-party apps, use Proton Drive for things like backups, if the app supports it, but in a secure way.
The way it could work is that supported apps could have a "Connect to Proton Drive" button, and then you would be redirected to Proton to login and connect.
BUT, instead of giving apps access to all your Drive, each app would have its own folder, that the user can explore and edit if needed (with a new External apps menu in Drive, next to My Files, Computers, and Photos etc), where the user could also, when connecting, set a max folder size for the app (for example: app cant take more than 300mb on Drive), and the app could not see anything outside of that folder.
And the user could, in the Proton Drive settings, also have an External apps menu to edit the storage limit, or remove the connection with the external service at any moment.I'l make an example with Aternos (the minecraft servers thing), which can currently backup servers to Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox.
You would go into your Aternos settings, set Proton Drive as a backup method, login with your Proton account, choose or not choose a size limit, then an Aternos folder would be created on Drive, and the user could still go in there and see/edit files, and Aternos could not see anything inside the rest of Proton Drive.
