  1. Pause backup photos

    Pause backup photos on Android.
    It is sometimes necessary to delete some photos before backing them up.

    Deleting backed up photos is much slower than deleting photos in the phone gallery, and when automatic backup is enabled, you have to delete photos both in the phone gallery and on Proton Drive.

    Manually turning backups off and on takes a long time because it's deeper in the settings, someone needs to specify yet another folder for backups, and most importantly, when backups are turned on, all the photos on the phone are synced if they're already backed up.

  3. When Including "/" in a file name, causes sync errors on Mac OS

    So, on the web-app version of Proton Drive, including "/" in a file-name is allowed. However, when syncing that file using the Mac OS client, it will always result in a sync error, as it interprets it as a new directory. "The file foobar.zip doesn't exist"

  4. Memories feature

    One part of Google Photos that I will miss is the "Memories" feature. Not the creepy cloud-based processing, but just the notification to scroll through some of my old photos.

    It doesn't have to be fancy, and you can play the same cheesy jingle each time!

    (Unless there's a workaround and I can use another app that can safely read local photos while Proton Drive backs them up securely?)

  5. Add ability to open local folder easily from the Drive desktop app

    Right now, the only way to access this from the desktop app is to go to the Settings and click on the folder destination, which is fine, but I should also be able to have a way to access the "my files" folder. Currently it goes to the user folder which is one layer up.

  6. Open local PDF files on mobile

    The Proton Drive mobile app can open PDF files uploaded within the app. However, it is not registered to open PDF files from within the system (e.g. a PDF file inside the File Manager). Adding this won't be difficult, especially since Proton Drive mobile app can already open these files.

  7. Option to Auto Update Desktop Client for Windows

    It would be nice if there were an option in the settings to automatically update the Proton Drive client for Windows, so that updates would happen silently and not require me to click a button every time.

  8. Forwarding rule: add "recipient" as a usable condition

    Now only the sender, the subject and the attachment are placeable inside a forwarding rule.
    I would like to forward some messages what comes to one of my alias address only.

  9. Optimize local storage with files on-demand option

    Some cloud storage applications have options to optimize local storage space by allowing users to optionally enable files on-demand. In this usage, the full file is stored in Proton Drive cloud with a representative file stored locally. When a user attempts to open the locally stored representative file (say opening a JPEG), the full file is downloaded just in time.

  10. Limit Sync Bandwidth

    Thank you for honoring Visionary subscribers with the extra capacity of Proton Drive. Please consider adding a setting that would limit the bandwidth during sync operations. The transfer speed is consuming all available bandwidth and it is difficult to do anything else when the sync process is running.

  12. Segmentation - Multiple Drives Per Account

    The ability to completely segment a drive and have multiple drives per account would be a good feature. It would ensure that you could share and/or sync specific drives to a desktop app without the risk of unintended sharing data stored on the other drive(s). Additional drives could be purchased as an add-on or users could elect to split their available account drive capacity across multiple drives.

  13. limit number of link accesses or file downloads

    Introduce feature whereby a user can only download file once or allow a link to only be used once so file can be listing on online marketplaces like ebay or trademe - so the link expires after download. Perhaps even a feature where you can assign multiple links on the same file that can be downloaded once only by each user - that is a feature I would upgrade to pro for

  14. Post individual git commits for the apps

    Currently, the public code repository for the ProtonDrive apps only has a single git commit for each release. This makes it incredibly hard to track down bugs when beta testing, and is similar to what garbage companies like NVIDIA do for their open-source software. Other Proton apps have each individual commit in their respective repositories, so I don't see why the ProtonDrive code is published in this terrible way. I make frequent bug reports when I run into issues beta testing Proton software, and this makes it impossible for me to provide higher quality bug reports to the Proton developers,…

  15. When uploading a large number of files, don't upload files already present

    Specifically for the android app. When you upload a number of files, some of those files may fail to upload properly. When you upload a 2nd time, it may be difficult to see which files failed on the first try. The app should see if there are files to upload and ask what to do. Always overwrite would upload everything whether to was there in the protondrive or not. Never overwrite would only upload files not already on protondrive. Only upload changed files would only upload files that weren't already there, or if already there, did not match in terms…

    Other cloud storage clients i've used can install to the current user's apps without admin rights. Can PD please do the same?

  17. Sort files based on metadata in the file (ID3 tag, Exif, etc)

    it would be nice to be able add columns to the list view that index data from within the file.

    For photos/images, EXIF fields like date/time taken, location, camera make/model etc.
    For music, standard id3 tags.

  18. Open files in other apps

    Please allow us to directly open files in our Drive with another Android application. I don't need an integrated viewer for every type of file, just away to open the applications that are already registered for that type of file on my phone.

    I recently moved in from Dropbox to Proton Drive, and I probably wouldn't have done it had I realized this feature was unavailable!

  20. Lors du partage par lien depuis drive, proposer de ne pas proposer le téléchargement

    proposer de ne pas afficher le bouton télécharger ne bloque pas en réalité le téléchargement cela le rend moins instinctif et cela serait une première étape. Dans un deuxième temps bloquer réellement le téléchargement serait parfait.
