   I've used the command-line program 'rclone' to show my Proton Drive as part of my Mac file system, so I can backup files from a Terminal. It's dead slow, but it worked. Then, two days ago, I ran

If you believe this is in error, please contact us here: https://proton.me/support/appeal-abuse (Code=2028, Status=422)"
   I went to that URL and filled in the form. No response, and it still doesn't work, 48 hours later. There is no abusive traffic on my network. I'm using Proton VPN.

3. mobile sheets and docs make copy or duplicate

   for the mobile app android we need ability to duplicate or make copy of sheets or docs as templates. i have templates for sheets mostly and when out working with only my mobile phone and app I can not make copy of a template for editing

4. Download progress and cancelation

   Hi.

   Can we have some notification for downloading files on mobile app (android)?
   Like in status bar to see how much is already done and also option to cancel download.

   Recently i try to get file from drive and it was over 500mb. I get note "download started" in app but i had no idea how fast or how it progress. After few minutes i still had no file in phone and every time i open app it say "download started". Cant even cancel it and had to force quit app.

5. Can't sort by date

   On Proton drive on a PC you can sort files by date but you can't do this on the Android phone app. Thus is extremely annoying not allowing this type of sorting by date. Please fis this.

6. Fix the Photos Sort Order Bug

   (NB Photos in browser: android app seems to sort properly.)

   I have many photos, mainly jpegs, that pre-date the digital revolution. I have scanned/re-photographed these old photos either from negative or print and have fixed up the "date taken" to correspond with when the original photo was taken. For people with full family collections this is probably not unusual.

   I am trying my best to migrate my photo library to Proton, but the its the little things that are annoying: the main photos sort by reverse date taken, UNTIL you get to about 1970 (I have tested this) - older photos then start appearing at the top - presumably by date created/modified?

   Can you please fix this bug?

   It must be a bug (or weird "expected" behavior) - a date is a date if you are using it for sort you should honor it no matter what.

   Please don't respond to this with some album functionality - it's not the same.

   PS: Annoyingly, Google Photos handles this properly - but then they can mine my data.

   Proton Drive's desktop and mobile apps are behind where they should be in 2026. The setup complexity and sync speed would have been acceptable a decade or more ago, but they're now well out of step with what people expect from cloud storage.

   The underlying problem is that two different products have been bundled into one: computer file sync and phone photo backup. Neither is done well as a result.

   The fix would be per-folder sync configuration. Let me nominate any folder on any device and choose its behaviour: upload only (backup), download only (retrieve), or two way (sync). Photo albums can stay as they are in the apps and on the web, but photo handling shouldn't dictate how file sync works.

8. [Proton Drive – Photos Web] Do not redirect user to album after adding photo(s)

   Current Behavior:
   When adding one or more photos to an album via the Proton Drive Photos web interface, the user is automatically redirected to the destination album.

   Expected Behavior:
   The user should remain in the Photos view after adding photo(s) to an album, consistent with the behavior already implemented in the mobile apps (at least iOS, I didn't check the Android on).

   Problem Statement:
   This redirect creates significant friction when organizing photos spread across a long time period. For each add action, the user is forced to:
   - Get redirected to the album
   - Click "Back"
   - Navigate back to the "Photos" view
   - Scroll back to their previous position — which can be particularly tedious with large libraries, even with the month selector sidebar.

   This turns a bulk organization task into a highly repetitive and time-consuming process.

   Proposed Solution:
   Remove the automatic redirect on the web interface, keeping the user in the Photos view at their current scroll position after adding photo(s) to an album. Optionally, display a brief confirmation toast notification (e.g. "Added to [Album Name]") as feedback.

   Low effort, high UX impact, and the expected behavior already exists on mobile.

   Current Behavior:

9. Option to Opt-In for File Recovery Without Recovery Key

   I would like to propose an idea for an option that allows users to opt-in for the recovery of previously encrypted files without needing a recovery key, similar to features available in services like Google Drive and OneDrive. This is especially helpful for users who may have lost their recovery key or forgotten their password.

   Background:

   Currently, if a user forgets their password and loses their recovery key, they are unable to regain access to their previously encrypted files. This situation can be critical if there is no backup of important files.
   Proposed Solution:

   Introduce an opt-in feature during account setup or within settings that allows users to choose whether they want Proton Drive to store an encrypted backup of their files. This backup could be accessed upon account recovery.
   Benefits:

   Provides users with a safety net in case they lose their recovery key, akin to practices from other cloud services that ensure continuity of access to user files after account recovery.
   Offers users the flexibility to balance between security and recoverability based on their personal needs.
   Security Considerations:

   Clearly communicate the risks associated with choosing this option, such as potential vulnerabilities. Given that my account is secured with two-factor authentication, I am confident in the safety of my files and believe I should have an option to recover them even without the recovery key.

   As a user, I recently encountered a situation where I lost access to important files due to a forgotten password and lost recovery key. This feature would significantly mitigate such risks in the future.

    I am writing to strongly request a native integration or official API support for Home Assistant backups to Proton Drive.

    The Context: Many privacy-conscious users run Home Assistant (the leading open-source home automation platform) on devices like Raspberry ***. For these users, securing local backups in a zero-knowledge cloud is a critical security requirement. Currently, Proton Drive is the ideal target due to its end-to-end encryption, but it is inaccessible for automated backups.

    The Problem:

    No Public API: Unlike Google Drive or Dropbox, Proton Drive lacks a public, documented API that allows third-party applications to authenticate and upload files without triggering aggressive CAPTCHA/abuse protection (Error Code 9001).
    No Official Addon: There is no official Home Assistant addon for Proton Drive.
    Workarounds are Fragile: Existing community solutions (like Rclone or mounting via desktop clients) are unstable, require complex manual CAPTCHA solving, or need a separate physical device, which is not feasible for many users.
    

    The Request: We ask Proton to:

    Develop an official Home Assistant integration (addon) that securely handles authentication and zero-knowledge encryption for backups.
    Or, provide a stable, documented API (with OAuth/API Key support) that allows trusted third-party clients to perform automated uploads without CAPTCHA challenges.

12. Drive for android: cannot edit and return if scan goes ahead too far

    If I try to scan or capture a document, I cannot return if I go too far. It should be possible to add a document to a selection (plus symbol top-right) after pushing the ahead button, but then remember that another needs to be added. This is possible with CamScanner but isn't with Proton Drive Scanner.
    So, please, add this feature.

    Add the feature to place a shortcut for specific files from the app to mobile and computer desktop.
    Gives easy access to files like a Keepass DB. No need for every app to add support for cloud storage.
    This works with GDrive on Android very smoothly.

    I have noticed several requests for Linux integration functionality. Many Proton users also run personal server devices like NAS (Synology, etc) or Linux configs. The ability to connect between ProtonDrive and these devices is important (some may say, critical) to maintain privacy and security.

    In that light, support for one or more of Webdav, Openstack Swift, and/or rsync... (yes, I am a Synology user and would like to be able to sync certain share folders with ProtonDrive for secure remote access and backup)...

    A file manager based on proton, the default android file manager is a mess and even google files is pretty lame and not easily navigated, on windows "files" app is a good alternative for file manager and on mac the default is pretty decent and there is eagle both for mac and windows but it is not available for android or ios, it would be good to see something like eagle for phones and computers both integrated with proton drive like icloud on ios and mac

16. Make docs formatting dropdowns on mobile app more stable

    I'm so glad to see more formatting features showing up. On my android, when I go to select a formatting feature, I have to hold down my finger on it and then select it. Otherwise, the dropdown disappears without me being able to select the formatting feature. Thanks.

    As a moving user from Google to Proton and as a android user, I frequently use the photos.google.com to quickly access the google photos web site and get on my computer pictures I took on my smartphone.
    Could you please create a entry in your dns photos.proton.me that redirects to https://drive.proton.me/photos .
    This little redirect will offer a direct link to user's photos and will bypass 2 heavy clicks...

19. Add ability to free up space by deleting backed up photos from device

    The Android app (and iOS, too, probably) already has the ability to back up photos to Proton Drive. What would be really helpful, and for feature parity with Google Photos, is a "Free up space" option that would simple delete photos from the device that have already been backed up to Proton Drive. You could do Google Photos one better by having an option to do that on-the-fly, as well, instead of it being a manual process.

20. Allow adding photos from Proton Drive to Albums in the web interface

    Currently, there's no way to add photos that are already stored in Proton Drive to Photos when using the web interface. The only options are:

    • Use the iOS or Android app
    • Upload directly from your computer to Photos

    Requested feature: Add the ability to browse Proton Drive and select existing photos/videos to add to an album, directly from the web interface.

    Bonus: Ideally, this should work by reference rather than creating a duplicate. Adding a photo from Drive to an album shouldn't consume twice the storage quota.

    Use case:Users who have already uploaded and organized photos in Proton Drive shouldn't need to switch to a mobile device or re-upload files just to add them to an album. This is especially relevant for users who primarily use the web interface or are working with large batches of photos already in Drive.

    • Use the iOS or Android app
